Chapter 150: Challenge II
Naruto smirked, his tone full of confidence as he looked around at the gathered Kage. "This is getting boring. My morning workout is harsher than this," he said, his voice carrying a touch of mockery. "I thought the Kage would be the strongest, but you guys are all weak."
His words stung, and the atmosphere shifted. The Kage exchanged glances, their pride and egos challenged by Naruto's bold declaration.
Naruto's words cut through the tense atmosphere like a blade, his tone mocking yet laced with undeniable confidence. His eyes swept over the Kages, each of them now visibly frustrated by his taunts. They had expected a challenge, but Naruto's ease in handling their attacks was beyond what they had anticipated.
A clenched his fists, his normally calm demeanor starting to crack. "You arrogant brat," he growled, charging at Naruto with lightning speed. But once again, Naruto effortlessly dodged, his movements almost graceful as he danced around A's furious attacks.
"Is that the best you've got?" Naruto teased, his grin widening as he jumped over A's wild punch and landed on a nearby tree branch. His voice echoed with amusement. "You guys have been fighting for power for so long, yet you're still lacking. Maybe you've all grown too comfortable."
Rasa, clearly agitated, summoned his sand once more, attempting to trap Naruto in a wave of shifting grains. But Naruto didn't even flinch. With a swift motion, he called forth his wood-style jutsu, weaving vines and branches that shredded through the sand like it was nothing.
Onoki, now fully aware that Naruto was playing with them, scowled. "We've had enough of your insults, boy!" he snapped, raising his hands to manipulate the earth beneath Naruto's feet. Huge chunks of rock shot toward him, but Naruto calmly raised his hand, using his wood-style to counteract the rocks with a thick barrier of roots and leaves.
"You really think earth can stop me?" Naruto said, his voice dripping with disbelief. "The world's strongest have already come and gone. You're all just echoes of their failures."
Mei, now visibly irritated, conjured a thick mist, her eyes narrowing as she tried to get a clean shot at him. But Naruto, his senses heightened, simply closed his eyes for a moment, listening for the subtle shifts in the air and the sound of Mei's chakra movements.
With a smirk, Naruto snapped his fingers, and the mist was cleared by his wooden constructs. "Nice try, but I'm not some rookie shinobi who gets lost in a mist."
Tsunade, watching from the sidelines, couldn't help but smile in pride. She had always known Naruto was strong, but seeing him handle the Kages with such ease was something else entirely.
Shizune and Temari shared similar expressions, their hearts swelling with both admiration and concern. "Naruto's showing them why Konoha is the true powerhouse," Temari murmured.
Rasa, still irritated, glanced at his fellow Kages. "We can't just let him keep humiliating us like this," he said, his voice a low growl. "Onoki, A and Mei, let's show him what we can really do."
"All Kage attacking together? I guess I'll have to become serious now, right?" Naruto said with a grin, his voice playful. "Just kidding. Me being serious? Never in a fight."
In that moment, the Kage unleashed their full might. A, activating his Lightning Release: Chakra Mode, surged forward with incredible speed. Rasa, his hands glowing gold, summoned his Gold Sand to control and attack with deadly precision. Onoki, with his Kekkei Tota, released the terrifying power of Dust Release, crumbling the earth beneath them. Lastly, Mei used her two Kekkei Genkai, melting the battlefield with Lava Release and boiling it with her Boil Release.
The combined forces of the Kage turned the area into a maelstrom of destructive power, but Naruto stood his ground, unflinching.
Naruto smirked as he summoned a set of Shadow Clones, each of them mirroring the Kage's abilities. "You guys know what to do," he said, and the clones nodded in unison.
With swift movements, each clone released the same techniques as the Kages—clones using Lightning Release: Chakra Mode, Gold Sand, Dust Release, and even Lava and Boil Release. The clones executed these jutsu with flawless precision, easily overpowering the Kages' attacks and forcing them to retreat.
The Kages fell back, their eyes wide with shock. Even those who hadn't fought directly were left stunned, realizing the overwhelming power of this 13-year-old kid. They had underestimated Naruto, believing the Kages were the pinnacle of strength, but now they witnessed a mere child effortlessly challenging all of them at once.
The room was silent, filled with the weight of disbelief. It was clear that Naruto's abilities were beyond anything they had anticipated.
The Kages stood there, panting, as they tried to regain their composure. The sight of their own techniques, expertly replicated by Naruto's shadow clones, and used to overpower them was a humbling experience. Each of them was left struggling to catch their breath as they watched their attacks, once thought to be their signature moves, turned against them with ease.
Naruto stood, his arms crossed and a smirk playing on his lips as he observed their defeated forms. His clones, each of them mirroring the unique jutsus of the Kages, had easily overwhelmed them, showing just how far ahead he was in terms of skill and experience.
"You all were confident about your strength," Naruto said, his tone light but carrying an edge of superiority. "But did you really think you could stand against me without consequences?"
A, now visibly frustrated, clenched his fists in anger. "You little brat... You've humiliated us!" He was still trying to regain his breath, his chakra exhausted from his failed attempts to land a blow.
Onoki, rubbing his forehead, sighed deeply. "We underestimated you, Naruto. I'll admit that. But... this doesn't change anything. You think Konoha will just dominate all the other villages?"
"Is that a challenge?" Naruto asked, tilting his head as he stepped forward, the smirk never leaving his face.
His voice rang out with unwavering confidence. "Definitely, if you still don't consider it, then I will beat you all until you agree," he said, his tone bold and unrelenting. The air around him seemed to tense, as if the very ground knew that Naruto was more than capable of carrying out his threat. The Kage, already reeling from the overwhelming display of power, found themselves faced with the undeniable truth: Naruto wasn't just a child; he was a force to be reckoned with.
The tension in the air was palpable, and though some of the Kage stood firm, their minds were beginning to waver. Naruto was pushing them to a decision they didn't want to make, but one that seemed inevitable.
Rasa, having already witnessed Naruto's strength during the Suna attack on Konoha, was not surprised. He knew that Naruto had the power to back up his words. With a calm smile, Rasa stepped back, his hands raised in surrender. "Naruto, I agree with your decision," he said, withdrawing from the challenge. His eyes glimmered with a sense of respect for the young shinobi's abilities.
Naruto grinned. "Oh, we got two of the Kage already. Now, the remaining three—what do you decide?" he asked, his voice filled with confidence.
A, clearly furious at Rasa's decision, slammed his fist against the ground. "Rasa, you traitor!" he shouted, his voice thunderous. He glared at his fellow Kage, eyes burning with frustration and anger. But even his anger couldn't hide the growing realization that perhaps, just perhaps, he had underestimated Naruto.
Mei's eyes widened slightly at Naruto's words, and for a moment, she seemed taken aback. She had always been known for her strength and confidence, but Naruto's directness made her pause. The tension between them shifted as she registered his words.
Naruto continued, his voice calm but firm, "Mei, what are you going to do? I know you just want to have a good family and live happily. And I also don't want to hit a beautiful woman."
Mei's eyes widened in surprise, a soft blush coloring her cheeks as she looked at Naruto. She was caught off guard by his words, but she couldn't help but appreciate his frankness.
"You're quite the charmer, Naruto," Mei said, her voice laced with amusement. "But I'm not one to back down from a challenge. Still, I see no need to fight you further. You've already proven your point."
Naruto smiled at her, his expression softening. "I didn't come here to fight for power or to destroy. I came to show that there's a better way. You just want peace, right? So do I."
Mei crossed her arms, considering his words. "I do want peace... but it's not easy. As a Kage, I have to protect my people, my land. But maybe..." She hesitated, looking at him thoughtfully. "Maybe there's a way forward that doesn't require constant fighting. You've shown me strength, but maybe we can find a way to work together instead of against each other."
Naruto nodded, his gaze serious. "That's all I'm asking. We don't have to agree on everything, but if we unite for the right reasons, we can build something better for everyone. No more war, no more destruction—just peace."
Mei looked down for a moment, then back up at him. "Alright, Naruto. I'm not saying I'll be your ally right away, but I will consider what you've said. Peace is a hard thing to believe in after all the wars, but maybe you're right. Maybe it's time to stop fighting against each other."
She extended a hand towards him, a sign of agreement—one that Naruto accepted with a genuine smile.
"We'll see what the future holds," Mei said, a new determination in her voice.
Naruto shook her hand firmly. "Thank you, Mei. I'm glad you see it that way. Together, we can make the world a better place."
The tension between them began to ease as both recognized that despite their differences, they could build a future where collaboration replaced conflict. The seeds of peace had been planted, and the path forward, while uncertain, was one they would walk together.
