Time Moves Forward
Upon entering the game world, our eyes opened. The ladies were all awake now, with Viccy waking up slightly before me. I got up, and everyone quietly greeted everyone. We chatted as we pulled out some food to bring our food meters up. We all talked about the tactics and improvements we need to make.
When we stood up after eating was when everything started. I took down the ward that had twelve hours still on it and entered into the forest. With a renewed vigor, we dove deep. Viccy was out looking for traces while Iona was ready to take the brunt of things. Fidel walked with me same cold attitude. Gloom was now in the back with more experience in the field. She could heal herself quickly if ambushed. Our renewed formations we started diving deeper into the elven forest.
Soon things changed for us. We would battle with Frenzied wolves here and there. They would ambush us and use various tactics. We were all gaining experience and refinement in our formations. Our skill in working together grew the most. Viccy received some levels as we dove until alarms blared into my ears. We would set up camp. I would use the dwindling amount of reagents to make a ward for the night to log off and on.
This is what our week turned into. At night I talked to the financial investigators. Things deepened as we looked through the preliminaries of the financial reports. Their frowns with their reputation in the industry confirmed that something was going on when looking through it with them. Each investigator did not know the others were doing the investigation with strict NDAs on each of them. At night, Victoria was going to the condo floors below to look over the contractors to make sure things were in the right place. It was behind schedule, and assistants were getting cleared and interviewed. She was a busy woman being pulled in many different directions.
Gabby was enjoying herself giving Victoria and me massages when we came out. Victoria finally decided that I would go first for the three days, and after since I had interviews. She looked a bit miffed, but I told her that mine were professionals that were paid by the hour while hers were interviewees who moved on her time. She was annoyed but conceded and moved her interviews back a bit, letting them know ahead of time.
Li was now bringing us both food while we worked. She was settling in perfectly. Her food was excellent and tasty, and I had to admit it. Our work and play lives were taking Victoria and I's entire being at this point, though. It was a regimen that was consuming our lives. Inside the game, we were on guard. I was Elli the Succubus Illusionist diving the depths of the Elven forest. Victoria was Viccy the Elven Ranger. She learned more and more with tracking. We were even starting to find the wolves before they ambushed us. Our team coordination became more in sync without call outs being needed each time. More and more, I seemed to be put up as the leader guiding each of us towards killing the wolves inside the forest.
Our quest to kill was long gone, but the investigation on the quest continued as we had not found the source of the reason why the wolves were enraged. We found no holes in trees as we looked out for Growler pedals as well.
Victoria's and my schedules continued day after day as three days passed. We fell asleep together each night. Without realizing it, it was the weekend, and My beautiful daughter showed up looking miffed at me for not calling her. I countered that she didn't call me either. That earned a condescending stare from every woman in the vicinity.
I backed off immediately and apologized, telling her things were busier than usual. The problem was I was a shitty communicator when people were not in my immediate area. The week continued with us all enjoying my place and food. The travels in the other world continued even after my daughter left-back for university after the weekend. Nothing changed at all until it was about eight days in while we were playing.
Our teamwork was much better, but we could still use some work on it. We had been playing for a couple of hours, and we're deep into the forest. When Viccy piped up, "Hey, got some tracks over here that look fresh. Be ready." She told us all. We were all in place, and I started to chant something neutral that I learned over the last couple of days. It was a neutral spell that used little mana. It only started to create the basics of the world around me. This meant the spell changed depending on where we were. If I finished the chant without adding fire or something, then the spell would be meaningless. The precasting saved a ton of time before the battle if it was ready. So I chanted out the surroundings when Viccy spotted a pack of wolves.
At this point, I finally hit level eleven, and Viccy was just about to hit level ten. She was just shy of the experience points needed to go over the threshold, she said. We readied ourselves to attack the wolves when Viccy held up a fist, telling us to stop for now. I joined her, making as little noise as possible to see what was going on.
There was a corpse of a deer in the small clearing and something else emanating off of it. It was a black substance that seemed to permeate into the air slowly. This was the first time we had seen something like that. I then pointed out a tree that was easily overlooked that seemed to be graying. "I think we need to investigate this area more," I told Viccy and stepped back as she nodded.
We were lucky hidden from view of the wolves when Viccy readied an arrow and Fidel was chanting. I prepared the illusion that the spell and arrow came from a different direction. As soon as they cast, the world changed for only myself and the wolves. To the Wolves from the other side of the clearing, a lightning bolt came out with an arrow right behind it. They both struck the biggest meanest looking wolf, instantly killing it. The lightning chained to the others while the wolves started to react. They jumped towards the Illusion of Iona quickly while Viccy shot another arrow from the bushes while Fidel chanted a second cast. The Wolves were still enraged as they destroyed the Illusion of Iona in seconds. To their surprise, she simply disappeared, confusing the wolves even more.
The wolf pack's confusion was complete as a third and fourth arrow was followed up with a fifth. By the sixth, another chain of lightning joined in, killing most of the group before their endless running around found us. There were five wolves left heavily injured. Iona, with Glooms Jaguar from quickly, dispatched them with Viccy continuing to shoot. The battle took about forty-five seconds.
When the Last wolf fell, we all had a mini celebration with hugs all around before we calmed down and looked started to clean up the battlefield. This was the best ambush we had yet over the past week. We entered the clearing, and I went over to the Deer that the wolves had been eating when I received a quest notification.

The Savage Wolf pack:
You have found a possible hint that might be why a large amount of Savaged and enraged wolves in the area. Look more into it or return with the deer corpse.
--
"We got a hint, ladies!" I cheered out. Everyone came and took a look at the Quest Item I received with the notification.
--
Corrupted Deer Corpse:
This deer Corpse has been infected with an unknown pathogen. Test the corpse or find the source to learn more.
--
"I think we search around the area more. If we don't find anything, we will continue to search randomly." I said and was met with a consensus from everyone. Gloom looked a little irked that someone released a pathogen into the environment, and I followed it up. "I say we make a camp here. When we come back, we will have less set up time.
After setting up a camp and marking things around, only my ward was needed. I didn't set it up since there was no food. We were so deep I doubt any players would be here. I pointed out the graying tree, and we traveled towards it, ready for anything.
