Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 16

Chapter 16: Wen Yang Disappeared!

Zhang Shaoqing’s family situation was quite complicated.

Although the book never mentioned it, after spending some time together, Ning Chu had a slight understanding of his family.

His parents were divorced, and he lived with his mother, who had an extremely strong control over him. She called every night to find out about his plans for the day, even deciding what he should eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Both parents came from merchant families, so he never lacked money, but his mother’s excessive control had become his psychological burden.

After taking a shower, when Ning Chu returned from the balcony to the dormitory, he found that Zhang Shaoqing had already left.

“He went back?”

Wang Jie brushed past him with his clothes, hurrying to take a shower as he replied, “Just left two minutes ago.”

“Oh, I see…”

Ning Chu mumbled as he tossed his dirty clothes into the bucket, walked to the dormitory mirror, picked up a dry towel, and vigorously dried his still damp hair.

He looked at himself in the mirror, only wearing a thin ice silk sleepwear.

His bangs just brushed his eyebrows, and the hair on both sides was slightly over his ears. Maybe he should get a haircut this weekend.

After the shower, his already fair face was washed clean of all dirt, and his fair skin absorbed the indoor light, almost glowing. He had an egg-shaped face with a bit of youthful chub on his cheeks, and his features were delicate and cute—but unfortunately, he still looked a bit too young.

Although he was clearly a freshman and had turned eighteen according to his ID, he could only be regarded as looking like a little boy. After seeing his loli classmate with a baby face and impressive attributes, he had come to accept his own boyish looks.

In the world of Small Royal Text, of course, there had to be all kinds of handsome guys and beautiful girls.

He believed that in a few years, as he matured, his looks wouldn’t be inferior to the main character’s.

While he was reasonably satisfied with his face, when he looked down at his neck, he saw his delicate collarbone and the distinct Small Red Beans on his sleepwear.

The area around the Small Red Beans was slightly raised, and he could feel the noticeable softness when he touched it while showering.

Just a week ago, he only had the Small Red Beans…

After completely disrupting the first plot, he had developed softness in that area, and it seemed to be increasing.

“If I keep disrupting the plot, maybe I’ll become more like a girl?”

“Or even turn into a girl…”

Ning Chu had long suspected this, but he never wanted to choose between “becoming a girl and being teased” and “just becoming a girl.”

If possible, he hoped for neither.

“Ning Chu, are you going to use the washing machine?” Wen Yang’s head popped in from the balcony, “I don’t feel like doing laundry this weekend.”

“Sure.”

Every two floors of the dormitory had a hot water room and a laundry room, but Ning Chu never liked using the public coin-operated washing machines.

Felt a bit gross.

“My clothes are in the bucket, can you help me take them down? I have coins in my drawer.”

Ning Chu usually didn’t refuse Wen Yang’s requests, so after agreeing, he picked up two buckets of dirty clothes, grabbed the coins, and was about to leave the dormitory when he suddenly stopped in place, looking down at his two noticeable Small Red Beans and the slightly raised small hills.

In the dormitory, it was fine. Although his roommates would occasionally glance and tease him, they were familiar enough.

But he imagined how awkward he would feel if someone stared at him outside.

He quickly grabbed a jacket from the wardrobe and headed to the laundry room while trying to scan the dormitory for any other characters related to the plot.

There were quite a few handsome guys in the building, and he even saw a girl casually walking down the hall on a date with her boyfriend.

Trying to find characters from the book based on appearance without knowing their names was too difficult.

As soon as he walked into the laundry room, his eyes were immediately drawn to a middle-aged man squatting by the washing machine, wielding a wrench.

This was… the dorm manager!

Ning Chu’s mouth twitched as he struggled to pull his gaze away from the dorm manager.

This uncle had a bit of connection to a side plot…

But it must be said that the world of Small Royal Text was indeed ridiculous. This clearly was a man in his forties or fifties, yet he had bulging muscles on his arms, a well-built figure, and his face, aged yet handsome, radiated the charm of a mature man.

Perhaps this was what the “older man” enthusiasts referred to as a “daddy.”

The character in the side plot should have nothing to do with Ning Chu, but he still entertained the thought of disrupting the uncle’s happy life.

In any case, he was at odds with the “god” who had thrown him into this world.

He dumped all the dirty clothes into the washing machine, dropped in the coins, made sure the machine was running, and glanced back at the dorm manager.

At that moment, his gaze collided with the dorm manager’s.

“…”

Ning Chu quickly lowered his head, shifting his eyes away, and hurriedly tried to leave.

After all, he was filled with thoughts of wanting the dorm manager to lose his happy life.

“Wait! Which dormitory are you in?!”

Just as he was about to rush out the door, a low voice called out to him from behind.

He felt his scalp tingle and instinctively replied, “203, Ning Chu.”

“Oh…” The dorm manager paused for a moment, recalling that overly short freshman from the start of the school year.

He had seen plenty of handsome guys and beautiful girls, but an eighteen-year-old boy who looked this young was quite rare, so he remembered him clearly.

He looked Ning Chu up and down again, noting the slim physique and delicate face—at first glance, he looked like a girl, but there was just about enough masculine aura to hint that he was a boy.

“Looking at me like you spotted a ghost.” He continued to repair the washing machine, mumbling, “What are you so nervous about, huh? I thought someone was sneaking a girl in.”

Ning Chu felt stiff all over as he was scrutinized, forcing out an awkward smile. When he noticed the dorm manager wasn’t paying attention to him anymore, he hurriedly left the laundry room.

Could he report that there was actually a girl sneaking around in the boy’s dormitory upstairs?

And she was feeding her boyfriend treats in public!

He burst through the dormitory door and returned to his desk, propping his chin on one hand, biting his nails while listing the current problems he was facing.

Scumbag counselor Han Jingye, who already had Wen Yang planted as a spy, required patience to deal with.

The dorm manager’s story was about mutual affection, but if given the chance, he hoped no plot from the novel would occur in this world.

The villain Zhang Shaoqing was an unpredictable factor, but he seemed fine for now.

And the main character Wen Yang… Wait? Where did Wen Yang go?!

Ning Chu suddenly reacted, turned to look at Wen Yang’s desk, then stood up, bouncing to peek at Wen Yang’s bed.

“What are you doing?” Wang Jie, focused on his game, asked as he turned around.

“Where’s Wen Yang?!”

Ning Chu’s tone was particularly panic-stricken as he scurried around the dorm, desperately searching for Wen Yang.

A confused Wang Jie scratched his head, “He just went out.”

“What for?!”

“How would I know?”

I can’t believe it! Under the guise of asking me to go to the laundry room, he secretly slipped away!
