ALL NOVEL 4-09: Start The Tournament
It's been a couple days since Veronica ran from her training with Seraph, blaming herself for using Charm when she really shouldn't have. But, today was the first day of the tournament.
All the girls woke up as early as possible, ate a filling breakfast, and made their way to the tournament grounds.
"This is so exciting!" Cassidy exclaimed, a huge smile on her face.
"Indeed, but if we want to do well, we all need to be focused." Eleanora advised.
"Yeah, yeah. I know you're a princess, but could at least show a little more excitement. Or, wait... is it because Veronica didn't fu-" Cassidy started, but was quickly silenced by Veronica.
"We're in public, Cass! That would cause a scandal!" Veronica warned, slowly removing her hand from blocking Cassidy's mouth.
"Right, sorry. Just... you know, it'll be fun!"
"I know that, but you've got to keep it under control."
"To answer Cassidy's question, it's not that. Though, I wouldn't particularly say no." Eleanora admitted. "However, I think Aviris should go before me, since we already had a round in the dungeon." She said, finding just the right words to shimmy around what she meant. But of course, the three knew exactly what she meant.
"I certainly wouldn't refuse. But that's all up to Ver, isn't it?" Aviris stated, stretching her arms as they walked over to the arena.
Their little conversation left Veronica a blushing mess. As she has multiple beautiful girls all admitting that they're willing to have sex with Veronica. One of which being THE second princess.
If she were a total perv, she would be ecstatic. But since she's not, or at least, she believes she's not, Veronica was embarrassed to know this, but also slightly glad at the same time.
Their little conversations lasted all the way to the arena grounds. They could already hear the hundreds, if not thousands, of spectators chattering about before the tournament starts.
The staging area for the combatants was also full of first year students, excited to show off their skills and abilities, and potentially even get picked up by an upperclassmen team.
There must've been at least thirty teams worth of people in here, counting Veronica's team. Good thing the staging area was extremely large.
Veronica and Co. went to see who and when they'll be fighting. So, they examined the large board the showed all the brackets. Since the first rounds haven't even started yet all the brackets leading up to the finals were intentionally left blank.
Currently, there were sixteen teams on each side. Meaning the tournament may be a long one.
"Ethereal Ravens... Ah, there we are. We're up in the fifth round." Veronica stated, pointing out their position.
"And it seems like our opponents is the team... Ascension." Aviris noticed. "Too bad we don't know their members. That information would've been useful."
The others nodded, but there wasn't much they could do at this point currently. So, they decided to wait until the tournament officially started so they can watch the first few rounds.
They went over to the contestant seating area, and just simply waited. Except for Cass. She thought it would've been fun to get a little touchy feely with Veronica, who quickly shut her down.
But, after a short wait, the tournament was finally starting.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the annual Mercenary Academy Tournament! Please take your seats and get ready for the first of many rounds we'll provide. And, for our very first fight, we have...!" The announcer paused for dramatic effect. "The Dragons of Varsha versus... The Punks!"
Both teams stepped up into the arena. Both were all male but there was a clear difference. One side had significantly better equipment, and the other just simply seemed like a bunch of hooligans.
Clearly, the Dragons of Varsha was were going to win. They had an aura that seemed to say they had more than just experience under their belt.
The main thing that caught Veronica's eye was tge leader, who seemed to be using a spear. Why does that sound familiar?
"Both teams are in position! Get ready... Begin!"
