Chapter 27
Daddy’s Company
Fang Yuan responded, “I don’t aspire to be a celebrity.”
Undeterred, Cheng Ye continued his inquiries. “Is there any particular industry that interests you?”
“Fashion design,” Fang Yuan replied.
“That’s a fantastic industry!” Cheng Ye exclaimed joyfully. “Since it’s a holiday, how about this? Dad has a small clothing company under his name, located nearby. You can take it over and explore it.”
Fang Yuan.”…..”
“If you discover that being a business owner is more captivating than pursuing formal education, then we won’t insist on schooling! The Cheng Family possesses numerous assets, and a diploma isn’t something we lack, right?” Cheng Ye suggested.
Fang Yuan hadn’t anticipated her father being so open-minded.
Upon hearing these words, Cheng Yuqi’s fists clenched tightly. Her father was handing over a company to Fang Yuan? Although the Cheng Family had investments in various industries, with the garment industry being the slowest to develop, and this particular company having been established only six months ago, it was still a company! And Fang Yuan was inheriting it on her first day back home?
“If you don’t want to rely on yourself, we can provide you with daily pocket money…” Cheng Ye added.
Fang Yuan’s lips twitched – is that so?
The household staff couldn’t help but feel envious. Such disparities existed among people!
Cheng Yuqi felt so aggrieved that her nails dug into her flesh.
“Oh, I almost forgot to transfer your pocket money!” Qiao Xinhui pulled out her cellphone. “Darling, I’ll transfer 50 million to you. Just let Mom know your bank account details.”
“No need,” Fang Yuan replied. She still had enough money with her to manage.
“I’ll transfer 50 million as well. Just inform Dad whenever you’re ready. Don’t worry,” Cheng Ye chimed in.
The household staff grew even more envious. They couldn’t fathom receiving 100 million yuan from their parents every day, with no need to attend school, start a company, or earn their own money.
“Darling, provide me with your bank account number, or I’ll have to transfer the money to your Alipay!” Qiao Xinhui urged.
Cheng Ye chimed in, “Isn’t your phone number linked to Alipay? I’ll transfer the funds right away.”
Qiao Xinhui remarked, “50 million seems a bit too little, doesn’t it? How about 80 million? It’s an auspicious number.”
Cheng Ye agreed, “Yes, that sounds good!”
Helplessly, Fang Yuan responded, “Just give me the company’s address.”
“What?” Cheng Ye and Qiao Xinhui were taken aback. They understood what their daughter meant – she was accepting the company?
“That’s wonderful! I’ll send you the address via WeChat,” Qiao Xinhui happily exclaimed. She forwarded the location of the company to Fang Yuan. “It’s a very small company, so it’s not unusual for it to struggle and incur losses. Darling, don’t put too much pressure on yourself.”
Fang Yuan. “….”
Cheng Ye added, “Yes, Dad has many companies. You can take them on as a form of amusement!”
Fang Yuan. “….”
Cheng Yuqi seethed with jealousy, her mind racing with a plan. Nevertheless, she maintained a smile on the surface. “Sister, the clothes and handbags Mom and Dad gave you yesterday don’t seem suitable for work. I’m free today, so I can take you to the biggest shopping center in the city center for a stroll. I heard you only moved to Jing City with your adoptive parents half a year ago, right? There probably wasn’t such a large shopping center where you used to live, correct?”
“Yes, Yuanyuan just arrived and hasn’t had a chance to go shopping yet. Prepare the car!”
However, before Qiao Xinhui could finish her sentence, Fang Yuan declined. “No need.” She had plenty of things to attend to and didn’t have time for a shopping trip.
“Yuanyuan, I can show you some beautiful sights. Is there a specific place you’d like to visit?”
“Darling, how about I take you to the spa for a relaxing treatment?”
“Sister, we can have afternoon tea together.”
Fang Yuan declined each suggestion. “Perhaps another day. I still have some unpacking to do. Please continue without me.”
As she made her way upstairs, Qiao Xinhui asked, “Do you need Mom’s assistance?”
Cheng Ye looked at her departing figure with concern and asked, “Did you have trouble sleeping last night? Have you asked Auntie Du to help you tidy up?”
“No, it’s a personal matter.” Fang Yuan patiently answered their inquiries and retreated to her room.
Just as she stepped into the room, her phone buzzed. She retrieved it and saw that Tang Nan was calling.
“Yuanyuan, we have six stalks of heart-strengthening grass up for auction at 3 p.m., and I have prepared your wallet!”
Fang Yuan smiled. “How generous of you.”
Tang Nan replied, “Of course! You just have to let me know, Fang Yuan. I can arrange anything for you, not to mention this amount of money!”
“Hehe.” Fang Yuan playfully teased upon hearing his words. “Are you afraid of death?”
Tang Nan chuckled, “It’s because I value your life. Alright, I’ll pick you up at 2 p.m.”
“Okay.” Fang Yuan ended the call and sent him her location.
