Chapter 38: You are one of my brothers
"You mean we have been living on a bomb all this time?"
All the people looked at Airon with an expression of disbelief reflected on their faces, they never imagined that the CDC facility had such special features, did they hear correctly what Airon said just now?
Rick was also a bit confused, so he asked with some anger, "Why did you tell us just now?"
Seeing everyone's expression suddenly change, Airon knew that they were all upset and puzzled. But what could he do with so many problems he had to solve?
Airon suddenly signaled everyone to calm down, he pressed his hand and looked at everyone with a calm expression, "There is nothing to worry about even now, the condition for the self-destruct program to happen is that resources are scarce in the fuel tanks."
Airon sighed calmly, he really thought he shouldn't be explaining everything but he answered all the questions anyway and pointed out, "At present, the gasoline storage in the basement is enough to continue to maintain the CDC for much longer, but this is not optimal to continue to maintain it."
Truth be told, he wanted to keep the CDC active and let the researchers continue to work on finding a cure for the virus, but he didn't have that luxury with all the problems ahead of him. He was sure that if he kept growing in Atlanta, he would be getting unwanted visitors very soon, so he would prefer for now to hide his strength and not draw too much attention to himself.
When everyone heard Airon's explanation, the few people in the vicinity were a little relieved, but now at this point, no one wanted to go back to the CDC anymore or even think about staying.
After everyone understood the problem the CDC and the S.C.T community was having, they all turned their heads to look at the prison again, now the excitement in their eyes was lit up.
Airon knew that many could not understand his plans, so he could only share what everyone could accept and save the problems that very few could address.
In the future some people will be in awe of those who are strong and keep a safe haven, but once the other party becomes weak in front of their eyes, they will start to form plans to act separately, proving that they are selfish people.
How could Airon not think of many of the things that would happen and the potential enemies that would cause him trouble? He knew it, that's why he had to be prepared to defend his community, he had to take advantage of his future knowledge and be forewarned for all those problems.
He could not consider tiny things like feelings or what other people think, he could not disturb his thoughts for tiny things.
Airon pulled out the radio he carried in his vest and then began to communicate with Daryl while concentrating on what was next.
Today, he just wanted to confirm the location of the prison and he didn't plan on making many moves for now, while his people aren't around it would be stupid to make big moves.
Besides, Airon knew very well that the time is approximately 70 days after the Apocalypse. Now, he was following the siege of the farm by a large wave of walkers about ten days later, and there were still ten days left until he would think about saving the Hershel family.
His farming skills were very beneficial to start growing food as soon as possible, horses and many things were important in that farm, so the value of that family was something that Airon could not let go.
But with Hershel's stubborn temperament, it is hard to guarantee that he will leave the farm without experiencing the ups and downs of the plot.
The successive deaths of his close ones like Otis, Shane's fall and the loss of Patricia had a big impact on Rick's family and group, Hershel had experienced a lot at this point, he was basically recovered after being on alcohol, but the shadow of his son and wife is something he didn't recover from.
How can this issue be resolved? If there wouldn't be so many deaths and losses, how could the Hershel family leave their home voluntarily? They were valuable people who would go a long way to enhance the growth of the S.C.T community!
Airon could only shake his head and decided not to think about that for the time being, if he can't resolve the transfer of the people and resources from the CDC to the prison, everything would fall apart.
"Zz... Airon, everyone is gathered, you can say what you wanted to announce!"
Meanwhile, Airon and the others had already returned to the road with the others and stood for a while thinking, when Edwin Janner's voice came out of the intercom.
Airon ordered those chaotic thoughts that were flooding his mind, picked up the radio and said in a clear voice: "Zz.... Okay, I have a few things to tell you. I'll be brief, if you have a question I'll answer them after I'm done with my explanation."
After pausing, Airon pressed the intercom button and pointed, "Zz.... First things first, you will soon begin the migration plan that has been planned all this time. When I finish the following, the others will explain to you in detail why this decision was made."
"Secondly, I have to apologize to Felipe, Guillermo was injured, but it was not serious. He was accidentally wounded by a shotgun bullet, but right now he is stable and recovering."
"The third thing, and the most important thing, Merle and Daryl? You two will have to bring in a group of the people you've had the most experience with this past week while Mike and the others get the supplies moved and the moving operation set up."
"Tomorrow you will need to come with that group to engage in a large battle and meet up with us, we have found an excellent shelter. Due to its large size there are places that need to be cleared, now you can ask any questions."
"Zz... Airon, is Guillermo with you, can I talk to him?"
As soon as Airon finished speaking, Felipe's anxious voice came out of the radio, and Airon could only briefly comfort him, "Zz.... I'm sorry, Felipe, we are still outside, Guillermo is currently in a very safe place and someone is taking very good care of him."
"Zz... That's good, a very good thing! Thank you Airon... Stop crying like a fucking bitch, give me the radio you bastard!" Philip's grateful voice was interrupted by Merle's hoarse voice.
"Airon! Disregarding the more experienced men, there are about 40 people who can fight, what do you want to do? Wait, could it be that damn prison you mentioned last time?"
"Zz... That's right, it's that prison! Tomorrow you drive with the modified RV, remember to bring as many cold weapons as you can, but see to it that you also have firearms in case they encounter enemies. By the way, don't forget the food and if they can bring supplies all the better."
...
After some long explanations, Airon finally arranged things for tomorrow and for now they returned to the farm again.
Before entering the house, Airon noticed that young Jimmy came out to greet them and told them all several things among the most important: "Your friend woke up and is looking for you."
When they heard this, several people rushed in, when they got to the room they looked at William half lying on the bed, drinking a bowl of oatmeal.
They all stepped forward to surround Guillermo with smiles on their faces and high-fived him in turn. William clasped his hands together and said to them all, "Thank you all, I heard what Hershel said, if it wasn't for you guys, I really might have died."
Rick patted Airon on the shoulder with a smile and said to Guillermo, "We're glad you're okay, there's nothing to worry about."
Everyone was glad that Guillermo woke up, there was really no one who hadn't helped so that Guillermo was now okay.
"Dude, it was a shame you didn't see Airon at the time. We were all all frozen when we saw you on the bloody ground, but Airon is faster and cut sticks while asking various people for clothes and in an instant formed a stretcher." T-dog said with a wry smile.
Shane also said jokingly, "Guillermo, I really admire you. You know, a certain someone was also shot, but he was in a coma for two months in the hospital. wow!"
When I heard this, Rick argued, "But I wasn't in a hospital, I was at the CDC!"
Glenn suddenly stupidly added, "Is there any difference between these two places?"
"Hahahahahaha!!!"
After chatting for a while, the topic returned to prison cleanliness and other important issues.
The next morning, on the small road outside the farm pass, a huge line of vehicles watched from a distance. The entire convoy was led by a modified VR. The exaggerated modification of this RV gave everyone the impression that it was not just a simple vehicle.
Not long after, the RV stopped in front of Hershel's house and more than forty people got out of the cars one after another.
Airon and the others stepped forward, first waving to the Dixon brothers and then waving to everyone else one after another. But many were surprised to find Andrea, Amy, Jacqui and Carol getting out of the cars. When more looked, there were many more women whose names Airon could not name, who should belong mostly to Guillermo's people.
"Why are all these people here too?" Airon's face was very grim.
He wasn't macho and he knew that there were very strong women who could take care of themselves, but he made it clear that they should be strong people and definitely some women still had a shaky hand when firing a gun, so even considering that Merle decided to bring a lot of women.
Airon turned to Merle and said angrily, "I asked you to bring the best fighters here, what do you think seeing this?"
Merle spread his hands innocently, "I never thought that the leader of the S.C.T community was a male chauvinist, you are one of my brothers! So, wrestlers need to eat too, don't they? Besides, they all insisted on coming."
