Uchiha Patriarch

Chapter 13: Interrogation. Mission accomplished.

Bailed: Hey, do you ever feel like you're thirsty but just can't quite quench your thirst?

Fugaku: Yeah, all the time. It's like I can never find the right drink to satisfy me.

Bailed: Well, have you ever tried water?

Fugaku: Water? Isn't that the stuff that's clear and comes out of the faucet?

Bailed: Yes, that's the one! It's the most refreshing drink out there.

Fugaku: I don't know, man. I heard it's pretty bland and tasteless.

Bailed: That's because you haven't had our new brand of water! Our water is specially formulated to have the perfect balance of hydrogen and oxygen.

Fugaku: Oh, I see. So it's like fancy water.

Bailed: Exactly! And it's only $5 a bottle.

Fugaku: Five bucks for water? Are you crazy?

Bailed: No, I'm a genius! Our water is so good, people will be lining up to buy it.

Fugaku: I don't think that's how it works.

Bailed: Trust me, I'm a water expert. Our water will change your life.

Fugaku: Alright, fine. I'll try it.

Bailed: Great! Here's your bottle of water.

Fugaku: *takes a sip* Wow, this is just like regular water.

Bailed: I told you it was amazing! Now go and tell all your friends about it.

Uchiha Fugaku's voice was cold and ominous as he repeated the question. His 3-Tomoe Sharingan glared intently at the Suna Shinōbi who was trapped in his Genjutsu.

"Who is the commander of Sunagakure and how many Shinōbi were dispatched in this operation?" he demanded, his tone sending chills down the other ninja's spine.

The Suna Shinōbi could feel the weight of Fugaku's presence bearing down on him. But the opponent remained unaffected by Fugaku's question, and his expression remained unchanged as he was still trapped in the genjutsu. He was completely under the Uchiha's control and Fugaku could sense that the power of his Sharingan had strengthened, making it even more formidable.

Fugaku knew from his past experiences that it was an extremely difficult task to control an elite Jōnin with 3-Tomoe Sharingan.

The Shinōbi's expression changed into a grimace of pain as he tried to fight back to speak, but in the end, he started to talk in a monotone voice, "Sunagakure is led by Ebizō Senior. The specific number is only known to the commander and Sunagakure executives."

Fugaku's expression changed into a frown as he digested the information. Ebizō Senior? The brother of Sunagakure's famed Puppet Master, Chiyo? He knew of Ebizō's reputation as an excellent strategist and talented Shinōbi, but what he didn't know was the shocking truth about Ebizō's involvement in this very mission.

This changes everything and now this situation is far above his pay grade. He had gotten what he wanted and now the Suna Shinōbi had served his purpose.

"What is your purpose for coming to the Land of Rain?" Fugaku asked, his voice cold and sharp.

The Sunagakure Jōnin once more tried to fight back the Genjutsu for a moment before answering in a monotone voice, "Infiltrate into the Land of Rain and wait for our next order."

Fugaku's eyes narrowed as he realized the depth of Sunagakure's caution. This was not a typical reconnaissance mission, but a full-blown operation with unknown objectives. He knew he had to extract more information if he wanted to prevent any harm to the interests of his village.

"Why are you hiding your true intentions?" Fugaku demanded, his Sharingan spinning with intensity.

The Jōnin's expression remained stoic, unaffected by Fugaku's intimidation. "I have no knowledge of the true intentions. I was simply following orders."

Fugaku's lips twisted into a grimace. He had been hoping for more useful information, but it seemed like Sunagakure was keeping its secrets well-guarded. He knew he had to act fast before the Jōnin's anesthetic wore off and he regained his resolve.

"Tell me, Shinobi of Sunagakure, who ordered you to infiltrate the Land of Rain, and what intel have you obtained so far?" Fugaku demanded, his eyes fixated on the prisoner.

The Shinobi's expression remained unchanged, seemingly unaffected by the Genjutsu that Fugaku was using to try and extract information from him. Fugaku's Sharingan spun faster, intensifying the Genjutsu's power, but the Shinobi remained unresponsive.

'Are you kidding me? He does not even know who ordered him to dispatch?': Fugaku cursed at whoever it was that was working for Sunagakure.

Fugaku's frustration grew, realizing that Sunagakure's intelligence-gathering tactics were proving too elusive. The Jōnin tasked with the mission had no valuable information to provide. It was a clear indication of Sunagakure's cautiousness and a testament to their skills in espionage.

Fugaku's eyes glared with an ominous intensity as he continued his interrogation, "If you refuse to answer, I will make you regret ever stepping foot in the Land of Rain."

Fugaku fixed his gaze once more on the Sunagakure Jōnin and spoke in a cold, menacing tone. "Tell me, what did you see and hear when you came to the Land of Rain? How many of your Shinōbi infiltrated the area, and what do you know of the supply route from Sunagakure to the Land of Rain? I want to know the supply point of the Land of Rain as well."

As he spoke, Fugaku's Sharingan spun rapidly, and he continued to unleash the Genjutsu upon the Shinōbi, making it difficult for him to find his resolve, and break out of the Genjutsu.

Fugaku continued to apply Genjutsu to the other party, his Sharingan spinning rapidly as he questioned the captive once more after seeing that the man is fighting back strongly.

Fugaku: "Tell me about the supply route from Sunagakure to the Land of Rain. Who marked the supply point in the Land of Rain?"

Captive Jonin: *struggling* "The supply route is marked on this scroll. Ebizō personally marked the supply point in the Land of Rain."

Fugaku: "Who else knows about the supply point?"

Captive Jonin: "Not many people. Only the Sunagakure executives and a few high-ranking Shinobi know about it."

Fugaku: "I see. Is there any other information you can provide?"

Captive Jonin: *looks with empty eyes* "No, that's all the information I have about this mission."

The supply route is the primary objective of this operation, and everything else is of secondary importance. Obtaining information about Sunagakure's presence in the Land of Rain with Konoha's intelligence system is not difficult.

The Sunagakure Jōnin continues to reveal all kinds of information that Fugaku desires while Fugaku writes everything down on different scrolls. Despite the resistance he can sense within his captive, Fugaku maintains a firm grip, preventing any escape attempts.

"Well, seems we are done here.": Fugaku says.

A black blur darted through the air, piercing the other party's heart with deadly accuracy. Fugaku had thrown a Kunai at the captivated Jonin, ending his miserable life.

Again a cool sensation washed over Fugaku and he heard the message being muttered to him.

[You killed an enemy and earned Three hundred points of LifeForce.]

[Current Balance: 366 Points of Life Force.]

His body felt invigorated and his Sharingan seemed to be revitalized with newfound energy, resulting in a noticeable improvement in his Vision.

This mission was finally nearly over, and Fugaku knew he had to cover his tracks. He scanned the small cave and came up with an idea. He picked up the lifeless body of the Suna Shinobi, dragging it to the end of the cave and carefully positioning it on the ground.

Fugaku took out a few Explosive Tags from his pouch and attached them to the body, being sure to cover any exposed skin. Satisfied, he turned and headed back to Konoha.

The trap that Fugaku had set was a simple one, but effective. The Explosive Tags were attached to the Shinobi's body in such a way that they were virtually undetectable. As soon as someone moved the body, the tags would detonate and destroy both the body and the surrounding area.

Fugaku knew that this would prevent any information from being leaked about his mission, ensuring that his actions remained a secret. The trap would also serve as a warning to any other Shinobi who might attempt to follow in the footsteps of their fallen comrade.

*Grin*

"Life is such a funny game, you can't win it, but you're forced to play anyway. And the longer you play, the more you realize it's not even a funny game at all.": Fugaku muttered as he made his way home.
