Ultimate Being from the Tokonosu City

Chapter 14: Do you want to be better than him?

No one said anything after they listened to Isao's words, but there was no doubt that his words were echoed in their minds.

In this world, for now, besides their family, it was only this group that they could rely on.

As for the others?

Hopefully, like this group, they could entrust each other easily, but they knew the reality couldn't be so simple.

"Okay, let's get out now."

Under Isao's lead, they turned off the television and removed all the things blocking the door before they walked quietly out of the teacher's room toward the bus outside.

As expected, under Isao's leadership, their journey was smooth. No one said anything, and they just walked quietly, following his back. Frankly, while this guy sometimes made some nonsense idea, they had to admit that he was reliable, especially in this type of situation. He didn't feel afraid to take the danger, leading them by example instead of using them as a sacrifice.

Watching Isao's back, Kyoko thought that when they arrived at Saya's house, she was going to help him relax all the tension in his body~!

While the girls were slightly nervous and kept walking, they also kept staring at Isao. His steps were unhurried, and he also matched their speeds, perfect steps where he wasn't so fast, yet he wasn't so slow, so everyone could follow. Facing this kind of danger, he was the only one who could stay calm like this. He even yawned sometimes, even though he was surrounded by many of those "things."

Yet, how could Isao not be?

Isao had to admit that the original story exaggerated everything since those "things" were simply too weak for him to think of as an opponent. If there was a reason why the original story had always been surrounded by those "things" and they had to fight a hard battle, he had to say it was because the protagonist had always been loud.

Those "things" could only notice their target by sounds.

As long as everyone stayed quiet, those "things" wouldn't notice them.

However, Isao remembered that the protagonist, Takashi Komuro, always shouted with all of his might when Takashi met those "things." Moreover, among the protagonist group, Takashi was the one who had always been the loudest and caused this group to be in crisis many times.

Nevertheless, while everyone felt relief under Isao's lead, Takashi couldn't be happy, especially when he saw his childhood friend, Rei, had been staring at Isao most of the time.

His love for this childhood friend was impossible to stop. Even though Rei had a boyfriend previously, his heart couldn't move on, but when that boyfriend died after being bitten by it, while he knew that it was ugly, he thought that he had a chance.

Frankly, Takashi shouldn't have thought of this, especially when he saw that Isao hadn't even shown an interest in Rei that much yet... he wasn't sure why; his heart had always been uncomfortable when he saw how Rei was looking up at Isao all the time. Even if Isao made a cruel decision to abandon someone when they might meet someone in need, Rei agreed to that decision without hesitation, which made him like... Isao had threatened him.

Even though Isao didn't do anything, Takashi couldn't help but feel so, especially when Rei betrayed the promise that they would marry each other during their childhood.

Takashi didn't want Rei to leave him anymore, and other girls in this group supported Isao's idea. Even Saya, his childhood friend, leaned toward Isao instead of him.

Everyone, everyone, and everyone.

They were all following Isao.

What made Isao so special?

Takashi thought that he could do better and he would show it to Rei and everyone!

Yet, Isao didn't know that. Even if he did, it didn't matter since it was easy for one to die due to an "incident" in this place. Moreover, he knew that as long as he gained the DNA of something and absorbed it into his body, he could also control any beings whose DNA had been absorbed and recorded into his body.

As he had absorbed the dog, a cat, and a fly, he should be able to control those three animals.

Yet, what if he absorbed a human?

Could he control a human, too?

While Isao knew that it was morally incorrect to absorb a human into his body, he had done many wrong things in life, and what he would absorb was a dead human, so there was no need to feel guilty.

Moreover, instead of becoming those "things," wasn't it better for those people to become part of him and support Isao's great cause?

Isao knew that he might have decided to become a good guy, but what was a good guy?

If someone were asked such a question, everyone would give a different answer. Everyone had their own understandings and beliefs, after all.

It was similar to Isao since his idea of a "good guy" was quite flexible.

Nevertheless, they should be grateful that he had decided to become a "good guy" since for him, who had become an ultimate being that could even control this world with ease, leaving them was more beneficial for him, especially when he was alone, he could strengthen himself without worry.

Not only was he going to absorb humans and those "things" to record their DNA inside his body, but he would also record many unique animals, such as a fish, which gave him the ability to swim, and even a penguin, which gave him the ability to live in a cold environment. He also planned to absorb the plant, giving him the ability to photosynthesize since he had started to get hungry again.

"EEEEEKKKKKK!!!"

Yet, when they were about to reach their destination, they heard a loud female scream like Saya had previously. Naturally, this attracted their attention, and they quickly saw a group of five students, three males and two females, concerned about those "things" on the stairs.

"We have to help them!" Takashi quickly said eagerly as if he had been waiting for this moment.

However, even after hearing Takashi's words, no one moved, and they subconsciously looked in Isao's direction.

"Wait here. Stay quiet. I will help them."

Leaving those words, Isao started to move toward the group of five. Still, instead of running, it was like he was leaping, like a cat.

Yes, as he had absorbed the cat's DNA, he could also mimic many of its attributes.

A cat might be a cute animal that was kept as a pet by many people.

Yet, they forgot that a cat was part of a fearsome hunter within the animal world, especially toward a mouse.

If there was a reason why they didn't show their hunter-like nature, it was because they were well-fed by their owners.

However, when they needed food and didn't have a good owner, they would hunt down mice to fill their stomachs.

Isao, who had absorbed the DNA of the cat, had inherited this hunter-like attribute.

Walking quietly toward those who were in need of help, he suddenly leaped, then struck down his baton mercilessly and took down all of his opponents cleanly, like how a cat used razor-like claws to kill their opponents.

Those "things" that had the power to take down even a normal door fell one after another like a small bug killed for fun by a child Isao.

Still, Isao wondered why sometimes those "things" moved fast to hunt down the people, yet sometimes, they moved so slowly as if trying to corner people. He meant... with how mindless they were, shouldn't they just bite their target as fast as possible to satiate their desire instead of walking slowly like a ghost in the horror movie tried to scare its target?

"Wa—"

Before Takashi finished his words, he saw all of those "things" that had almost bitten the group of five had been taken down by Isao. His chance to show that he was capable of handling this situation was lost, and he could only stare at this scene in a daze.

Everyone was also in a similar situation as they watched his feats in a daze.

At that moment, everyone had to agree that this guy was so strong!
