Chapter 156: Our teahouse is famous
After finishing his meal, Noah got up from his seat.
"Thank you for the meal Selena, make sure you tell Alfred about what we spoke about," He said, as he left.
"Yes sir," She nodded, as she quickly took the empty plates and started washing them and cleaning the table.
Noah then made his way to the main door and left the mansion.
He decided it was time to check on the teahouse and see how his dad was managing.
The drive was quick, the motorway passing by in a blur as he made his way to the teahouse.
As he approached the teahouse, a sight he hadn't expected stopped him in his tracks.
The line of customers stretched down the block, people waiting patiently whilst talking with others in the line.
He raised an eyebrow, a small smirk crossing his face.
'Guess Aiden uploaded that video sooner than I thought.'
He parked and glanced through the window.
Inside, his father was serving customers with a friendly smile, clearly enjoying the atmosphere despite the sheer number of people he was serving.
Fortunately, the crowd appeared to be polite, everyone waiting in an orderly fashion and no one causing any trouble.
But Noah knew it wouldn't be long before the demand would need more hands to manage, so he pulled out his phone and quickly dialled Lionel's number.
"Hey, Lionel. I need two people sent to the teahouse to help out."
"I'll text you the address. Make sure they're dressed professionally—suits or something that looks sharp. None of that rough-and-tumble look today."
"Understood, sir," Lionel replied with his usual tone.
After ending the call, he immediately dialled Jackson, relaying the same instructions.
The first few days were very important in maintaining the teahouse's reputation and having slow customer service would be bad for its image.
He exited the car and started walking towards the entrance. But just as he reached the door, a man in line stepped in front of him, blocking his path.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" the man demanded, raising an eyebrow. "There's a line here, buddy."
Noah frowned slightly before his expression relaxed. "Relax. I'm one of the owners of the teahouse."
The man blinked, quickly retracting his hand, his expression turning sheepish.
"Oh! My bad. Sorry about that," he mumbled, scratching the back of his head. "Thought you were trying to barge in."
"No problem," Noah replied, nodding as he slipped past.
The man's embarrassment melted into an amused chuckle, and he muttered a quick apology.
A woman next to the man said.
"He tricked you, he is probably lying to you so that he can enter first." She scoffed.
He turned towards her and said.
"Then why didn't you say anything? Why are you saying that now?" He frowned, looking at her weirdly.
"Um, it's not my business?" She said, raising her hand in an annoying manner as her long fingernails clashed together.
"Then stop talking if it's not your business," He said, before turning around and looking forward.
The woman became speechless but did not press further as it would only make her more embarrassed.
Once inside, Noah made his way over to his dad, who greeted him with a grin, relief clear in his eyes as he saw Noah's arrival.
"Glad you're here," David said, leaning over the counter slightly to speak over the lively crowd.
"Didn't expect this kind of rush on a weekday."
Noah smiled, glancing at the line outside. "Yeah, but why didn't you tell me there were so many here?"
"I could've come much earlier to help you out, or sent someone." He added
"It's okay, the shop just opened anyway. I was planning to call you later though," He said, as he served another customer."
Shortly after, the team Noah had requested from Lionel and Jackson arrived.
Four men, each with a solid, athletic build but dressed smartly in suits.
They made their way through the crowd, drawing a few curious looks from the customers in line.
They approached Noah, and one of them spoke up.
"Boss, we—"
Noah held up his hand, stopping them mid-sentence with a slight nod, understanding immediately who had sent them.
"Alright," he said quietly, glancing at the teahouse entrance. "Here's what I need you to do."
He quickly told them what their roles were.
"Two of you stay outside and manage the line. Make sure it stays orderly and that no one causes trouble."
"If someone starts acting up, give them a warning. If they keep pushing it, you're free to kick them out but keep it professional. Use force if you need to, but no violence unless absolutely necessary. Got it?"
The two men assigned to the outside security duties nodded firmly, replying in unison, "Yes, boss."
"Good." Noah turned to the other two men. "The rest of you, head inside and help my dad at the counter. The system already has the prices set, and the menu is small, so you'll be able to pick it up quickly. If a customer has questions, just read off the menu and help them out as best you can, alright?"
"Yes, boss," they said, as they split into pairs, heading to their positions.
The two outside moved to manage the line, calming the chatter in the crowd with their presence, while the other two went inside to assist David.
Noah made his way inside, where he saw his father already glancing curiously at the two people behind the counter.
He had seen Noah talk to them, so he wasn't worried about them much.
"Who are these people, Noah?" David asked, glancing at them. Enjoy new stories from empire
"They work for a friend of mine," Noah explained casually. "I asked him to lend me a few extra hands for today because it's quite busy."
"If you like them and they do well, we might consider hiring them permanently. What do you think?" Noah added.
David nodded slowly, a thoughtful look crossing his face as he watched one of the men assisting a customer.
"We'll see how they do," he replied, giving Noah an approving nod.
"Alright," Noah said. "I'm going to head inside to check on a few things. Let me know if you need anything."
David gave him a knowing nod, understanding where Noah was going. "Got it."
