"Officer this way." Runa dashed toward the alley, her steps quickened by the urgency in her voice. "This way," she shouted, pointing toward the darkened path.
The sound of boots clattering against the pavement filled the air as the officers surrounded the area. A man emerged from the alley, his expression stoic, yet annoyed.
"Freeze! Raise your hands and turn around!" an officer barked, his gun drawn and aimed.
Runa's sharp eyes darted around, scanning for Aki. She wasn't sure why she was so frantic, but something about the situation felt off.
When the officers closed in, they dragged out five additional individuals from the shadows some were —bruised, battered, and visibly shaken.
"We didn't do anything wrong! Can we leave now?" Yoshino demanded, her tone sharp with irritation.
All she wanted was to go home, rest, and forget about the nightmare of the day. She planned to talk to her father about everything that had happened. But, to her dismay, the police swarmed in like bees to honey.
"Sorry, miss, we'll need your statement at the station," one officer explained. "It won't take long."
"Sir, you too," the officer added, gesturing toward Aki and Kirishima.
Although they were initially asked to raise their hands for weapons checks, the officers relaxed slightly after hearing bits of the story. Still, Aki and Kirishima would need to accompany them for formal statements.
When the officers turned toward the captured men—the ones accused of being the molesters—another officer frowned. "Even though they were clearly at fault, we need to take those two as well for... excessive violence."
"It's self-defense!" Aki retorted, his voice sharp.
"Perhaps," the chief officer said, adjusting his cap. "But violence is violence. Both parties need to be detained until we've sorted this out."
"Sir, we'll need you all to come with us," the officer repeated firmly.
"I have other things to do!" Aki complained, his voice loud and exasperated.
Runa and the others exchanged skeptical glances at Aki's dismissive attitude.
"Tsk," Kirishima clicked his tongue. Despite constantly teasing Aki for being spoiled, even he knew how much sway Aki held. If he wanted to, he could have forced the entire precinct into servitude with a single phone call.
"Runa, aren't you coming?" Aki asked suddenly, his tone casual, almost inviting.
"Yes," Runa replied without hesitation. She climbed into the police vehicle without further prompting.
Her sudden gesture left one officer speechless. "T-That was my seat…" he muttered inwardly, shaking his head in disbelief.
With Runa now squeezed into the back seat alongside Aki and Kirishima, the officers had to adjust their seating arrangements. Yoshino was moved to the front passenger seat, while the officer who had been driving sighed in resignation.
"Miss, I appreciate your concern for your boyfriend, but it would be more appropriate if you—"
Before the officer could finish, Aki tossed his motorcycle keys at him, hitting him square in the chest.
"What's the meaning of this? Do you want additional charges added to your name, kid?" the officer growled.
"I don't care," Aki replied, leaning back casually. "Take my bike and follow us to the station. It's parked in front of Kasaki's Family Restaurant—HSR Ninja. I even installed a signal tracker to find it."
The officer blinked, stunned by Aki's audacity, but reluctantly gave the signal for his colleagues to retrieve the bike.
"Are we leaving or not? Do I have to give the orders?" Aki demanded, slamming the car door shut.
Aki sat in the middle seat, sandwiched between Kirishima on his left and Runa on his right. Despite the cramped conditions, he couldn't resist teasing Kirishima about their earlier dispute.
"You've gotten sly," Aki remarked with a smirk. "Do you think 50 million grows on trees?"
"Isn't that just your weekly allowance?" Kirishima shot back, feigning disinterest.
"Exactly! That's why it's unfair," Aki huffed.
"What's unfair? You bought my fiancée," Kirishima retorted, rolling his eyes.
"Yes, but shouldn't you have at least trained her properly first?"
"That's your problem now. Unless… are you backing out? If you are, fine, I'll return your money and you can still keep her."
"I'm a millionaire, you idiot! Do you think I care about money?"
"Then why are you still complaining? It's annoying."
"I… That… Ugh! Fine, keep the damn money," Aki grumbled, throwing his hands up in defeat.
Feeling dejected, Aki turned to Runa with pleading eyes. "Runa, please comfort me. Some bastard stole my money!" He buried his face in her shoulder dramatically.
"Ah… uh… there, there," Runa stammered, awkwardly patting Aki's head. Although she didn't fully understand what was happening, she could sense Aki's frustration and decided to offer her support.
Sitting in the front seat, Yoshino clicked her tongue in annoyance. She had heard enough of their ridiculous conversation to understand the gist: they were treating her like an object to be bought and sold.
"Five million, fifteen million, fifty million… are they crazy?" she thought, her mind racing. She clenched her fists, struggling to contain her anger.
"Are all Tokyo residents like this?" Yoshino wondered bitterly. She longed to go home, away from this insanity, and resolved to speak with her father as soon as possible.
The officer also heard the details and couldn't help but sweat as certain keywords echoed in his mind: "50 million, pocket money, selling his fiancée." This case had escalated from a simple altercation to a baffling scenario straight out of what he could only describe as "rich people problems."
As the vehicle pulled up to the station, the officers guided everyone inside. However, only the girls were allowed to remain in the waiting area, while both Aki and Kirishima were taken into custody for further questioning.
Yoshino leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, irritation etched on her face. Meanwhile, Runa stood nearby, visibly nervous but trying to appear calm as her eyes darted between the officers and the two boys being led away.
Aki, unfazed as always, shrugged and gave Runa a playful grin as if this were just another minor inconvenience in his day. Kirishima, however, rolled his eyes and muttered under his breath, already fed up with the entire situation.
The police station buzzed with activity as the group arrived. The officers processed the statements while keeping an eye on the two young men.
After hearing the full story and the snippets of their conversation, the chief officer initially thought he'd handle the situation tactfully. "Let's see if their guardians are untouchable. If they are, I'll just issue a friendly warning. If not, we can process today's case smoothly," he thought smugly.
But as the minutes ticked by, he realized he had grossly underestimated the gravity of the situation. The chief broke into a cold sweat as the entire station filled up with intimidating figures. Half of them were clearly yakuza, covered in intricate tattoos and exuding an air of menace. The other half were men in black suits, clearly professional bodyguards by their coordinated movements and sharp, tailored appearances.
The tension in the air was palpable, and even the other officers instinctively backed away, hiding in the far corners of the station.
At the center of it all, the two young men sat casually in front of the chief's desk, flanked by their so-called guardians.
The two men radiated authority, and their calm demeanor was more terrifying than the yakuza and bodyguards combined. The taller of the two adjusted his cufflinks before speaking in a polite but chilling tone, "So, can we take my nephew back now?"
The chief officer wiped the sweat from his brow. 'This… this is rich-people drama at its finest,' he muttered under his breath.
The other man nodded in agreement, adding, "We've come all this way. Surely there's no reason to delay."
The chief officer scrambled to respond, his voice betraying his nerves. "Ahh, yes, yes! Of course, I was…uh…really impressed! You see, people these days often ignore others in need, but these two brave, strong, and handsome boys went out of their way to rescue a girl from molesters. I was actually planning to, um, reward them for their heroic actions! That's why I called their guardians here—to attend the award ceremony! Haha!"
"Is this true?" the man in the black suit turned to Aki raising an eyebrow. "Have my nephew performed such noble deeds?"
"Y-yes, it's true!" one of the officers piped up hastily, nodding vigorously.
The man in the suit nodded solemnly. "Sister will be very proud of you, Aki," he said, his voice softening with a trace of emotion.
"Uncle, don't act like a kid. It's embarrassing," Aki sighed, leaning back in his chair. He waved dismissively. "I don't need any awards. Handle it for me if necessary. I need to drop my girlfriend home."
"Understood," his uncle said, rising gracefully from his chair.
The yakuza guardian also stood, dusting off his jacket. "We have no need for any lavish ceremonies. If there's nothing else to discuss, we'll take our leave."
With that, the two guardians gave curt nods, signaling for their entourages to follow. The yakuza and bodyguards exited in a surprisingly orderly manner, leaving the station eerily silent.
Outside the station, Kirishima's group gathered. One of his men approached cautiously. "Young Master, shouldn't we offer to escort Miss Yoshino home?"
Kirishima glanced at Aki and smirked. "No need. Leave that to him."
"If you say so…" The yakuza group dispersed, leaving Aki and his small entourage behind.
Aki sighed, glancing at Yoshino and Runa. "Well, guess I'm on escort duty. Let's get you both home safely."
Yoshino crossed her arms, glaring at Aki. "I can manage just fine on my own, thank you."
Runa, on the other hand, simply smiled, still trying to piece together the chaos of the day.
