Virus King [Translation]

Chapter 30: Chapter 0030: Video Uploaded! (4/5)

Novak glanced at Daphne.

At this point, he had no doubt that if he commanded her to kneel and open her mouth, Daphne would comply without any physical or emotional resistance.

Animal instincts are deeply embedded in human genes.

In patrilineal societies spanning thousands of years, submission to a powerful leader has been natural, and a woman's instinct to yield to strength is ingrained.

Daphne, however, was no longer just an ordinary woman.

But Novak wasn't in a hurry. To him, Daphne was more than just a pretty face or a plaything.

If all he wanted was a pleasure, he wouldn't have gone to such trouble.

After all, there were plenty of top-tier celebrities in De M-anila City, visiting from time to time.

Of course, the entertainment industry didn't offer the absolute best, but it could still suffice to release some emotions.

As Aaron was helped away by the others, only Novak and Daphne remained in the vast, late-night living room.

"You did well today," Novak said. "I'll give you what I promised. I don't need to explain the importance or the future significance of it, do I?"

Daphne nodded obediently, like a devoted wife.

"Find an opportunity soon," Novak continued. "You, Dane, and your most trusted subordinates need to kill a zombie with your own hands. If you don't, you might not even qualify to join the game in the future."

Killing one of those grotesque creatures herself? Daphne hesitated briefly, but a spark of determination quickly flashed in her eyes.

"I'll do it!" she declared.

"Good. Now rest. Which room should I stay in?"

He didn't treat himself as a guest in the slightest.

Daphne gazed at the young man's back, a hint of desire flickering in her eyes. "How about staying in my room?" she suggested.

Novak chuckled, glancing at the slightly flushed Queen Song. "Not tonight. I have things to take care of. I'll get to you when I have the time."

"Hehe, I'll wait for your affection then~," she teased, her voice soft and seductive.

Novak felt a stir of desire, especially as her coy voice seemed to stoke his flames. If not for the evolution points he had earned from the recent massacre, which he planned to use to further awaken the Blacklight Virus, he might have devoured this temptress on the spot!

Daphne led Novak upstairs, her hips swaying provocatively as she walked.

They reached the master bedroom.

"Will this do?" she asked.

Novak wasn't picky and nodded.

She watched him enter the room, remove his coat, and reveal his perfectly sculpted muscles. Licking her crimson lips, she asked, "Are you sure you don't want me to join you in bed?"

Novak shot her a glance and closed the door.

Daphne chuckled softly. Feeling as though she had regained a bit of face, she swayed her way back to her own room, reflecting on the day's extraordinary events.

Meanwhile, behind a bedroom door down the hall…

"Hoo... Ha... Ha..."

Dane leaned against the door, her breathing heavy as her chest heaved with emotion. Her eyes were filled with confusion, shock, and disbelief.

She couldn't comprehend what she had just witnessed. The woman who had just spoken such suggestive words—who had giggled flirtatiously—was her mother, the woman she had always revered!

But that wasn't even the most shocking part. Those words and that laughter weren't directed at any wealthy, powerful man that her mother usually dealt with.

No, they were meant for a man her own age—one of her peers, whom she had admired.

Her mother… was taking a man from her own daughter!?

Dane's emotions swirled from shock to anger, and finally settled into a deep sense of hurt and resentment.

How could something like this happen?

The rebelliousness that had simmered in her since childhood seemed to finally reach its boiling point.

Dane made up her mind.

She would show that man exactly how she compared to her mother!

With her cheeks flushed, she glanced at the special outfit lying nearby.

At the same time, Novak had settled into bed. But he wasn't yet focused on his evolution points.

The Blacklight Virus inside him was still surging from the recent bloodshed, and Novak needed to calm its power.

The Blacklight Virus, even in the context of historical games, was a unique force.

For the first host, the virus did more than fuse—it resurrected within their body, inheriting the memories of the previous host.

But Novak was different.

His innate ability as the Virus King made him the ruler of all viruses. The Blacklight Virus and its power were his to command; it could never consume or replace him.

In the future, Novak would awaken even more viral powers.

Under his control, the Blacklight Virus couldn't devour other strains. They coexisted to serve him, providing strength.

Whether it was the Blacklight, the Progenitor Virus, the Ouroboros Virus, or others—they were all Novak's subjects.

Tools to fuel his power.

As he felt the power settle, Novak still didn't rush. Instead, he opened the high-definition video that Daphne had sent him earlier.

It was footage of his battle in the Red Building.

Half an hour.

1,800 seconds.

One hundred and sixty-seven zombies.

All obliterated without injury.

Though they were only low-level zombies, the kind that any evolutionary could take down in the apocalypse, the significance of the feat was undeniable.

In the video, Novak wore a zombie mask, obscuring his face.

But every movement, dripping with violence and untainted by any special effects, made him look like a god of blood, bathed in crimson light.

So impressive.

Even Novak couldn't help but admire himself.

After reviewing the footage, he used the video scanning function in Group 001 to upload it.

Without waiting for any reactions from the group in the dead of night, Novak turned his full attention back to the talent tree of his Virus King.
