Wandering in Omniverse

Ch 45 – Meeting with King of Death (1)

~~Flashback~~

Two years after the Kamish's raid, Jason was sitting in his office organizing the raid schedule with Xiao Yu and Mingyue Wushuang.

*Ring* *Ring*

His cell phone rang non-stop attracting everyone's attention.

Glancing at the caller ID, he furrowed his brows and picked it up.

"What makes the President himself call me so urgently?"

- "Whatever you're planning, drop it immediately. A S-rank gate has appeared in Busan."

Jason raised his eyebrow in surprise, asking. "Are you sure?"

- "Do you think I'll joke about something like this? I'm on the scene right now and can't even believe my own eyes." Go Gunhee said, still in shock.

Jason looked at Xiao Yu and Wushuang, both the girls were also surprised by the change of events.

Since the first S-rank gate was supposed to appear on an island.

Jason narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment before saying. "President, you should go back. I'll personally deal with it."

- "No. I know your strength but I think-"

Jason cut him off, speaking. "I understand but I think only I can go inside the gate. More people will only cause casualties. President believe me but that gate... is a death zone."

Go Gunhee paused for a long time, his heavy breaths could be heard on the other side.

After a long two minutes, he finally spoke.

- "Fine. But you only have two hours. If you don't clear it in two hours then, I'll send the call for help for other countries."

"I understand," Jason replied and put down the phone. He stood up and picked up his coat, draping it over his shoulder as he walked out of the office.

"I'm going out. Take care of everything in my absence."

"We understand. Take care." Xiao Yu and Mingyue Wushuang nodded their heads.

Jason stepped out of the building and flew away towards Busan since it would take too long by car.

It only took him ten minutes to arrive at the location of the gate...

"….Yes. Everyone, the black hole in the air you see behind me is the Gate that has appeared in the city today….."

"….According to my sources, this Gate has been ranked at S! Yes, it's the same rank that had appeared in the US two years ago which required hundreds of top-class hunters to clear. For more updates, keep connected to us…"

Reporters had already formed a cordon around the Gate by the time he got there, and the Association employees, as well as the members of the army.

The soldiers had already formed a barrier around the massive gate floating in the air, preventing people from getting close. Aside from the soldiers, many association employees were already present on the scene doing their respective jobs.

And in front of that gate stood a middle-aged man with a big build and scars. Even though he looked tiny in front of the gate, the vibe he was giving of a one-man army that could take on anything that would step out from the other side.

The spectators were giving the looks of admiration when they stared at the back of that man.

Jason landed beside that middle-aged man, patting his shoulder.

"You're earlier than me, President!"

Go Gunhee took a glance at his watch and said. "You're late!"

"Hey, it takes time to come here, you know," Jason grumbled in annoyance.

"Look!"

"Uh??"

"Isn't he…?"

"It's him!"

"It's Hunter Hades!"

"I think he came here to personally deal with the Gate!"

People feeling fed up from being stuck here began recognizing Jason, and their complexions brightened greatly.

Go Gunhee ignored their comments and stated. "You have only two hours."

"It's more than enough," Jason said with a smile and stepped into the gate.

It happened at that moment.

Screams were rising up from here and there.

"Uhhh? What's going on here??"

"Why is it changing to red color?!"

Right after Jason stepped past the Gate, the eerie color of blood slowly spread over its black surface. It was a Red Gate!! A terrifying event was unfolding right now.

"Ah…..!"

Go Gunhee was taken aback by the phenomenon but he still kept his cool, knowing clearly that if Jason couldn't clear the gate then no one in the entire Korea could.

So, he ordered the employees to keep maintaining their positions and wait for Hunter Jason to come out.

'You must clear this gate brat or I will go to hell to beat you up!'

Go Gunhee stared at the gate and thought.

On the other hand, after Jason stepped in, he was greeted by the sight of an ordinary cave-like dungeon with a long passageway with no end in sight.

'Hmm, it seems completely normal yet this strange feeling... I mean the mana here is literally crying in fear... Let's see what you are hiding!'

His eyes gazed far forward, and all he could see was the cavern-like passageway with seemingly no end. There were lit torches lining up at a fixed interval along the cavern walls as well.

And there were no monsters nearby.

He continued to move forward slowly while keeping his senses at high alert.

Finally.

The torchlight revealed the end of the road. And that end was blocked off by a huge castle gate.

It was quite rare to see a room with a door like that.

Jason didn't know why but his instincts gave him a little warning as he touched the gate.

But his curiousness to know what was lying in this dungeon overwhelmed the warning. He grasped the handles of the doors.

*Creak* *creaaaakkk-!*

The heavy-looking doors slid open rather smoothly.

*Rumble-!* *Boom!*

The door to the room finally opened.

The interior was completely shrouded in darkness. He could only see the ground beneath his feet, which was covered in stone tiles.

As soon as he set foot on this floor….

*Whooosh!*

Countless torches lining up the walls lit up all at once and illuminated the interior.

He maintained his vigilance. He scanned his vicinity and cautiously stepped forward. The habits that he had developed via hunting in his previous life couldn't be changed so easily.

Several giant stone pillars stood erect to his left and right; at the far end of this 'room', he could see a tall throne.

'Isn't this...'

Jason's face changed as he suddenly remembered something.

A few steps later, the door issued a loud bang and closed shut behind him.

*SLAM!!*

Just as the door was closed, a powerful wave of magical energy crashed into him, causing him to furrow his brows.

It was then.

From the gap between stone pillars, which couldn't have been more than ten steps, a 'doll' walked out from its hiding spot and stood before him, blocking his path forward.

The 'thing' stopped its walk and turned around to face him.
