Wandering in Omniverse

Ch 59 – Preventing a Tragedy

Jason left a note for Cha Hae-In as he picked up his coat and went to the new guild office.

"Good morning, Jin-Ho," He pushed the door and entered. And his eyes landed on the sole person present in the office.

Jin-Ho was working on the computer when he heard a familiar voice. He raised his head and saw his 'Hyung-nim'.

"Ah, good morning, hyung-nim. What brings you here?"

"Well, Jin-Woo's going on a raid. I'll be bored so I decided to come here and see if you need any help."

"Thank you, Hyung-nim. But everything is fine." Jin-ho said with a big smile.

Jason nodded and settled down on the chair. He then browsed through information about Busan's gate available on the internet.

'I think this gate contains undead monsters. I remembered this part how Beru killed the Arch Leech, the boss monster of this gate in a single hit... Wait a minute... I think Jin-Woo left the raid in the middle, right? But why... Oh fuck! How could I forget something so important?!'

*Slam!*

Jason jumped up from his chair, causing it to fall down shocking Jin-Ho because of that.

"W-What happened?"

Jason didn't answer him and quickly checked the clock. There were only a few minutes left before 11. According to his knowledge, the dungeon break started at the same time as the raid began at Busan.

"I'll be back." Jason directly opened a portal and disappeared inside it.

Jin-Ho had seen Jin-Woo disappearing like that many times so he wasn't too surprised because of that but the sudden change in his behavior still surprised the little fellow...

Jason directly teleported in front of Jin-Ah's school.

'It seemed I arrived on time.' He observed around and found the school still bustling with students.

He quickly scanned the school and found the location of the gate.

...

Somewhere in Jin-Ah's high school….

Three male students and their faces were currently full of unhappiness at being asked to run an errand for their art teacher.

"Isn't this clear exploitation of the labor force?"

"Yeah, I wonder about that myself."

"I mean, why are we doing something that guy was supposed to do it himself in the first place?"

The male students continued to complain bitterly as they unlatched the bulky lock of the second art classroom.

"Argh, look at all this dust."

"Bleurgh~."

The thick coating of dust befitting a disused, forgotten storage greeted the trio of students.

"Hey, how many of these plaster statues were we supposed to take with us?"

"There are six of them here, so it must be six."

"Argh, come on…. That means we have to come back here again."

"Why don't you carry four of them at the same time, then?"

The male students rolled their sleeves up in order to carry the plaster figures away. But then, the student picking up the dusty figure tucked away at the deepest corner ended up discovering 'something' else.

"Uh?"

After hearing his surprised-sounding voice, his friends quickly walked over to take a look.

"Uh? Isn't this….?"

There was a large 'hole' in the wall. It was a Gate about the size of an adult human. The biggest student among the trio smirked after taking a look at the Gate.

"And here I was, wondering what was up."

The male student pressed his hand on the surface of the Gate and carried on.

"A closed Gate like this one is safe. Only Hunters can go inside, and the things inside can't come out, either."

It was then.

*Crack.*

A crack suddenly formed on the surface of the Gate and at the same time, a 'hand' shot out to grab the head of the male student.

"Huh?"

The male student struggled fiercely to get out of the grip, but the hand didn't even budge an inch.

*Swish-!!*

*Plop*

But suddenly a light flashed and the grip loosened on that student's head as he fell on the floor.

Everything happened so fast that the other two students were unable to react.

Only after two or three seconds, did they realize what had just happened and screamed.

"Aahhhh!!..."

"Don't be scared. You are safe now." A voice brought them back to reality, even calming their racing heartbeat for no reason.

The two of them raised their heads and saw a somewhat familiar-looking man standing in front of Jun-Seok, patting his head as the little fellow was shuddering in fear after almost losing his life.

"You guys should help your friend, don't you think?"

The duo surrounded their friend who was crying non-stop.

"Jun Seok, are you alright!!"

"Hey, Jun Seoh-ah!"

While it was happening, the black 'curtain' covering up the entrance of the Gate shattered like glass, and the monsters trapped inside began pouring out.

"Now, close your eyes." The hunter spoke in a friendly tone.

The three of them nodded their heads and didn't know why but immediately closed their eyes.

Jason's shadow moved and a monster rose from it. It turned into an ant monster.

"Go and kill them all." This is the simple order Jason gave to the Ant King.

Ant King's eyes flashed with killing intent and he bowed to him before turning towards the Orc monsters.

*Kiiiiieeeeeeehhhhh…..!!!*

It screeched with all its might and released its powerful aura.

If not because Jason had formed a barrier around the room, the school might have been destroyed from the aura alone.

He even covered the three of them with Space Law.

The ant king's figure blurred and just in a split second, six heads rolled on the ground.

The orc who were brave warriors retreated for the first time. But the ant king didn't give them a chance and followed them inside the gate.

Jason could hear painful screams from inside it. He first turned to the three students and knocked them out, even going as far as to wipe their memories related to this event so they could live a peaceful life.

He then entered inside the gate too but what greeted him was the Ant King on his knees with the head of Groctar, the chief of the Orcs.

"Well done," Jason patted its shoulder before activating the 'Monarch's Domain'.

He then turned all the dead orcs into shadow soldiers including Groctar before exiting the gate.

After making sure that the gate was closed, he left the place...

"Huh?... where are we?..."

"When did we fall asleep?..."

Just as he left, the three of them opened their eyes and looked around.

"Oh fuck, we have to take the plaster statues to the art teacher!" They remembered what they were doing here in the first place and quickly carried out their tasks.
