Warhammer, I promise I am loyal!!

Chapter 1: 1. A Blackout.

Giraldo Sector, Joachim, the City of Eternal Peace.

Or perhaps better known as New Moon.

Ever since those fleets descended from the stars, bringing new rule and protection to this long-lost colony world. Much like how many nobles, besides their family surnames, had acquired new, strange names akin to those of their conquerors.

The imperial city, once a symbol of supreme authority, humbled itself, declaring allegiance to the legendary Emperor and was renamed the Pyrrhic Governorate.

In Pyrrhic, in a luxurious, finely crafted mansion beside the governor's palace...

Sensing the young man beside him showing signs of awakening, the two beautiful women at his side also rose from bed. Their gossamer-thin robes barely concealed the abundance of springtime beauty and the surge of ocean waves. But before they could retrieve their ornate, jewel-encrusted dresses, a cool voice came from the golden mahogany bed.

"You may leave now."

Leon held his head and waved them away.

Watching the two women gently close the door, Leon Kent—or rather, Leon Aurelius—lightly rubbed his temples, trying to ease the deep-seated fatigue from last night's madness that lingered in his body, while swiftly processing the sudden influx of memories in his mind.

The dull ache pulsing in his brain and the flood of past memories made Leon chuckle bitterly three times. Before awakening the memories of his past life, he was, in some sense, a typical noble-born wastrel, spoiled by his family's glory and power.

Arrogant, greedy, and lustful, yet with an almost pathological reverence and fear of authority.

Due to issues on his maternal side, he had been abandoned by the Kent family—or rather, by the Aurelius family, who had renamed themselves after pledging allegiance to the Empire.

As his memories continued to deepen, visions of massive steel structures flashed before Leon's eyes: enormous ships like mountains, steel jungles floating in planetary orbit, three-meter-tall giants clad in heavy armor, Mechanicus priests with 80% of their bodies replaced by machinery…

Warhammer?

Upon realizing the nature of the world he was now in, Leon's vision went black.

"Oh no! I'm doomed!"

But since he was here, he had to make the best of it.

Leon could only grit his teeth and press forward.

At this point, even the idea of starting over in a new world was terrifying.

As if! Who knows if his soul, upon dying in this world, would end up in the clutches of some indescribable entity, suffering the fate of a transmigrant who'd be twisted inside out…

"But fortunately, I didn't end up as a hive city commoner but as the second son of a noble family. Once I come of age, I'll have my own fief, with my main duties consisting of... various humanoid activities and helping the family propagate its lineage."

"From what I can see in my memories, this world actually seems pretty safe. Except for the Machine Cult constantly trying to dig up my family's ancestral graves under various pretexts, everything else seems fairly normal…"

In a way, this lifestyle was pretty enjoyable!

Leon's hope for life was rekindled.

Living idly in this brutal world wasn't a bad path.

After all, the Aurelius family's rule over this planet was stable. Though he was the son of a concubine, it seemed his half-brother, the family's legitimate heir and the designated next governor of the planet, held an inexplicable hostility toward him.

Otherwise, the original Leon wouldn't have sought relief through revelry every day, attempting to lower his threat level and avoid his elder brother deciding one day to eliminate him.

Aurelius, of course, was a name given by those conquerors from Terra.

A thousand years ago, after witnessing the undeniable force of these conquerors descending from the skies, Leon's ancestors eagerly acted as guides. They decisively declared, "Right this way, my lord! I know a shortcut!"

Then, through their leading role in the betrayal, they became the new rulers of this planet.

To establish closer ties with the conquerors, Leon's ancestor made a decision that defied family tradition. He changed the family name to Aurelius!

The entire family then joined the church the Word Bearers had established locally.

When news came that the Word Bearers had rebelled, Leon's ancestor, thinking he'd allied with a Primarch, nearly died from shock.

After careful consideration, Leon's ancestor quickly deduced that while the rebels were strong, they lacked the resources for a prolonged campaign, and the odds of victory were slim.

So he swiftly restored his original name, led troops to besiege the Word Bearers' church, executed the priests, burned their scriptures, and began reciting the Imperial Creed to show loyalty, narrowly avoiding retribution during the Emperor's purge led by the Regent. Later, when the state religion arose, misinformation led Leon's family to mistakenly believe that the rebels had won.

In distress, they dug up the Holy Scriptures from the ashes and burned the Imperial Creed anew, once again making a decision that defied family tradition.

Eventually, they clarified the situation. Capitalizing on their head start and deeper understanding of the Holy Scriptures, they swiftly realigned with the new church and earned admiration from key figures within the Ecclesiarchy.

It was even said that one of Leon's ancestors, due to outstanding service in the church, used the War of the Beasts as an opportunity to relocate a branch of the family to Terra, where they reportedly held sway with High Lords, even being beyond the Inquisition's reach. Seeing these family records in his memories, Leon found it hard to hold back.

Good grief, if it weren't for the fact that Guilliman himself was now ruling Terra, anyone else would have obliterated these opportunistic Imperial traitors long ago!

"Impressive, indeed!"

Leon couldn't help but marvel.

As he touched the cross-and-skull amulet on his chest, symbolizing his status as a priest of the Ecclesiarchy, a sudden surge of knowledge made him inwardly rejoice.

"Treatise on Ancient Eastern Sorcery and Rituals."

A cheat power!

Leon eagerly opened the first page of the book that had mysteriously appeared in his hands.

But as he read the opening sentence, his vision blackened once more!

"Let silver and steel be the essence.

Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation.

Let red be the color I pay tribute to.

Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall.

Let the four cardinal gates close.

Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate"

"Master! Grab the Holy Relic! Summon your Servant and begin a thrilling Holy Grail War!"
