Subject: Crested Dragons of Vestige
Dear [Redacted],
I trust this correspondence finds you well. As per our ongoing discussions regarding the unique fauna of Vestige, I wish to draw your attention to a particularly fascinating specimen: the Crested Dragons.
Unlike their draconic counterparts found in other realms, the Crested Dragons of Vestige possess several distinctive traits that set them apart. Firstly, unlike the scales that adorn most dragons, Crested Dragons possess a layer of vibrant feathers along their bodies, culminating in an impressive crest atop their heads. This distinct feature serves not merely as an aesthetic attribute, but also as a display of dominance and social standing within their own hierarchies.
Secondly, and more importantly, these Crested Dragons exhibit an intelligence that rivals that of True Dragons. While lacking the ability to speak, they demonstrate exceptional cognitive abilities, possessing complex problem-solving skills and a remarkable capacity for understanding and responding to commands. This level of intelligence, coupled with their relative docility, lack of the fierce independence and arrogance that often characterises True Dragons and their capacity for achieving a soul bond, leads me to believe that they are the product of deliberate manipulation.
However, the origin of these fascinating creatures remains shrouded in mystery. The possibility of their creation by an otherworldly entity – be it a Starborn or a mere realm shifter – cannot be easily dismissed. But if true, then this would suggest that outside forces have been meddling with the natural order of Vestige for far longer than we initially suspected.
It is imperative that we exercise caution in our interactions with the fauna of Vestige, particularly with regard to species as unique and potentially significant as the Crested Dragons. This world is not Ingress or Cipher, and while the potential applications of Crested Dragons are undeniably intriguing, we must be mindful of the possible consequences of interfering with the delicate balance of power within Vestige. The Firstborn and other such powers have made their stance on such interventions abundantly clear, and it would be unwise to antagonise them at this moment.
I await your insights and recommendations on how best to proceed in our studies of the Crested Dragons and their implications for our ongoing research efforts in Vestige.
P.S: It has recently come to my attention that a prominent member of the Third Accord is not only present here but has firmly enmeshed himself into one of the planet's more powerful Houses. Any guidance on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
