Chapter 45: The New Guards
After a few days, inside the white castle hall.
Amos lay on his throne, looking down at the Ogre chief and the Ogres behind him.
Ghoul-Garu who was wearing a special red wizard’s robe, carrying a Caucasian combat staff and stood at the forefront of the team, bending over and saluting: “Greetings, master. Skull Crusher Ogres report to duty.”
Amos scanned them with the system. Apart from Ghoul-Garu, there were a total of 120 ogres, twelve high-level Ogres, and the rest were intermediate-level; the count totalled more than the number Amos requested.
White Dragon Lord nodded in satisfaction and said: "Very well. Since the Skull Crusher clan is here, take over the defence work as soon as possible."
“They will be directed under your jurisdiction.”
Amos turned to the Murloc Nightcrawler in the shadow of the hall’s pillar: "Bucky Darkscale, from now on, the Ogre’s will take over the role of guards, and the Murloc Nightcrawlers will act as hidden guards."
Bucky Darkscale walked out of the shadows, stood upright, and replied loudly, "As you wish!"
Amos said to the two of them: "The Ogres and the Murlocs will defend the White Castle in light and darkness. The groups must live in harmony and work together."
The two replied in unison: "Yes!"
"Ghoul-Garu, bring your people with me."
Amos took the Ogres to the square below the White Castle and clapped.
Several Ogres emerged from the warehouse with a large wooden box and placed it neatly on the ground. When it landed, the box made a clangour of a metallic collision.
"Wallon, Goga, Tam..., long time no see!"
"Chief, long time no see!"
Ghoul-Garu was not surprised to see his people. He already learned from the Murlocs that the people who had left the sea had not been executed but only imprisoned.
"Ghoul-Garu, these clansmen of yours, will still be led by you in the future."
The Ogre sent by Ghoul-Garu to avenge the White Dragon was not necessarily mediocre but had at least moderate ability.
Now that Ghoul-Garu had arrived, Amos was glad to have a few more guards.
"Yes, master!"
Amos said to the porters, "Open all the boxes."
The Ogre used an iron rod to break the wicker of the box to reveal the straw inside, and through the gap between the straws, he could see the metal shining below.
Amos took out the full-body heavy armour in the box and flicked it with his nails to show its quality to the Ogres.
The Ogres’ breaths fastened at the sight. It was their first time stepping out of the Skull Crusher Island. Where else would they have the chance to set their sights upon such sophisticated armour?
Only Ghoul-Garu had anticipated this, and his mood was relatively calm. The White Dragon Lord was wealthy, the Murlocs' Army was equipped with iron weapons, and the Ogres, who were 10 times more powerful than the Murlocs, had no reason not to be better equipped.
This was the surprise the Lord had promised!
"These are for you."
Amos's words confirmed Ghoul-Garu’s speculation. The Ogres roared with excitement and rushed to the box like wild dogs, even Ghoul-Garu joined in.
How could a soldier dislike sophisticated equipment?!
Amos grabbed the Ogre chief Ghoul-Garu's collar with his claw, who ran past him, abruptly interrupting the charge and drew him back.
"Cough cough cough, that's for the mid-level Ogres. Call the high-level Ogres and follow me."
Ghoul-Garu thought of an even better possibility and couldn't keep calm anymore as his breathing accelerated.
Amos brought the higher-ranking ogres to another warehouse and opened the warehouse door. Several wooden shelves were lined in the warehouse, and the armour on the shelves emitted magical waves.
Ghoul-Garu's heart surged.
Enchanted armour! !!
Amos rejoiced in his heart. Fortunately, I bought some additional enchanted armour. Otherwise, the number of armours wouldn’t have been enough for the Ogres, and I would’ve lost face.
The high-ranking Ogres stared at Amos, swallowing saliva, waiting for the lord's command.
The White Dragon Lord stretched out his dragon claws and made a ‘go ahead’ gesture.
"Roar!"
The high-ranking Ogres directly used their battle techniques and rushed impatiently toward the enchanted armour.
Ghoul-Garu looked at the dragon's claws in front of him, and while a little depressed, his face flushed, not because of anger, but excitement.
Ghoul-Garu certainly did not expect that Amos would prepare an armour for himself. So, when White Dragon Lord stopped him there was only one possibility—there was better armour waiting for him!
Sure enough, Amos opened his dimensional bag, took out a set of grey armour, and handed it to the Ogre Chief, who couldn't contain his excitement.
Ghoul-Garu stroked his armour, which was medium-sized armour with special metal added to it. In addition to not being heavy, it had incredible defensive capabilities, and the whole body was matt-greyish-white making it almost inconspicuous.
Ghoul-Garu felt intense fluctuations in magical power on the armour, even though it lacked an impressive appearance. If the magical strength of the armours within the warehouse could be considered 1, then the magical energy within this armour would be 20.
Ghoul-Garu understood the value of this fine armour, and his heart was moved.
All true dragons, regardless of good or evil, were almost always misers. Generally, when they get valuable items, they are kept as collectables, hidden deep in their den unbeknownst to outsiders.
The fact that the White Dragon Lord could present this armour was enough to show his importance.
Amos looked at a dazed Ghoul-Garu and said, "What do you think of this armour I made?"
In the last battle against the Ogres, Amos was stimulated by two pieces of legendary equipment. Since the Ogres could make legendary equipment, there was no reason as to why a man who had a golden finger couldn't do it.
So, he began to learn the craft of forging and wanted to create a piece of exclusive legendary equipment for himself.
It turned out that the legendary equipment did not turn out so well. A systematic analysis was not sufficient for gathering the raw materials to produce the legendary equipment suited for the White Dragon Lord.
Left with no choice, Amos resigned to building simple equipment, first to train his hands and lay a solid foundation for casting his equipment in the future, and second, it could be given as a reward to dependents, over the years.
The White Dragon Lord had collected a large number of related books and learned about casting knowledge. With the help of the system along with the continuous supply of materials, Amos integrated the old into the new, and his casting level had also improved rapidly.
The armour in Ghoul-Garu's hand was the proud work of Amos. It was enchanted with five high-level magics, namely [Dragon Breath], [Dragon Power], [Dragon armour], [ Dragon Wing] and [Flashing - Concealment].
The standard four-dragon technique of the Dragon Vein Warlock could bring all-around improvement to Ghoul-Garu. Moreover, the [Flashing·Concealment] hid the fluctuations when the magic was activated, when paired with the [Great Cracking] on the Caucasus battle staff, it was enough to scare the enemy out of his soul.
When Ghoul-Garu heard Amos's words, he looked at the White Dragon Lord in shock. He was very moved and had never expected that this armour to have been made by Amos himself.
Ghoul-Garu knelt on one knee, stroking his chest with one hand, and the two heads said in unison: "The Skull Crusher clan’s Chief, I would like to be your guillotine and cut through thorns for you!"
"I don't need you to go through the thorns, but I hope you can protect my castle."
"You won’t be disappointed!"
