Chapter 57:
Bruce's heart trembled, and he suppressed the panic in his heart, "Don't be fooled! This cunning monster is deceiving us."
Amos said with disdain, "Little Earl of Dumbledore, do you think I need to lie to you at this point?"
The White Dragon Lord then threw another blockbuster, "When you asked for help, I also sent a gift to the Blood Skull Pirate Alliance."
Amos’s voice was ethereal and bewitching, “Most of the navy is absent, and the high-level combat power is almost dispatched. Do you think these greedy marine hyenas will give up this good opportunity to plunder the rich city of Pele?”
The White Dragon Lord smirked and said, "Presumably, at this time, Pele City has already turned into a sea of flames."
The white dragon lord spoke so rigorously that the soldiers were in an uproar.
A drop of cold sweat dripped from Bruce's forehead, and he could only believe Amos. Although he felt that the situation in Pele City was not as exaggerated as the dragon had said, it must have encountered trouble.
It’s just that if he admitted it, the morale of the soldiers would inevitably collapse, so he couldn’t admit it!
Bruce yelled, "Warriors! Pele City has a tall city wall with powerful ballistas. There are also several large mercenary regiments in the city. Those puny pirates want to break through the defences of Pele City, it's just a pipe dream! Don’t be fooled by the enemy!"
Amos said, “It doesn't matter if you believe it or not! Ants! When you stepped into my territory, your destiny was already doomed!"
"My servants! Crush them!"
The White Dragon Lord gave an order, and the ogres roared and charged, followed by the murlocs.
The soldiers raised their crossbow arrows and shot them at the ogres. The crossbow arrows shot on the ogre's armour, wiping out a little spark, appearing dazzling in the dark.
Only when one stands on the opposite side of the ogres, would they know how terrifying these full-body heavy armoured, huge people with at least three meters height were when they charge, especially when these huge people were holding a terrifying mace in their hands.
Ghoul-Garu charged at the forefront, and the head of the [Caucasian combat staff] in his hand emitted a cloud of red magical energy, which was divided into countless energy rays and shot into the surrounding ogres.
Group bloodthirsty! ( Tl:- Buffing comrades)
The ogre had blood-red magical energy enveloping its hand. Their speed and strength increased as their blood went berserk, with red eyes, they hit the human defence line indefinitely.
The simple line of defence hardly played any role and shattered under the ogre's mace, and the masters quickly rushed up.
Bruce's face changed suddenly, and after the fight, he discovered that these ogres were at least intermediate professionals.
Bruce saw the rapidly collapsing line of defence, with heavy weapons such as war hammers, giant axes, and under the relentless barrage of these large humanoids covered in steel armour, and he had no chance of winning.
"Set fire!"
The magic circle in the forest was activated, and flames appeared in many places, igniting the trees, and in the blink of an eye, the dense woods turned into a sea of fire.
There was such a thing?!
Amos’s thoughts turned rapidly: the mucous of the murloc's skin could not withstand the grilling of the fire, while the number of ogres was scarce; it was difficult to support them.
"Retreat!"
Amos released the dragon breath and opened up a frost filled passage in the burning forest.
The ogres and the murlocs retreated to the beach following the passage opened by the White Dragon Lord.
Amos looked at the burning forest. These humans couldn’t set themselves on fire. Sure enough, a white barrier was built up in the forest.
"Air Purification Array?!"
Good idea! In his heart, Amos couldn't help being amazed by Bruce's wits.
He first used the flash technique, and almost succeeded, then used the blazing technique to ignite the entire forest to expel the enemy, and then activated the air purification circle to protect himself and his comrades.
There were a few elementary magics in a small area, and they had abruptly used high-level magic, but couldn't achieve any effect, which made people scream in panic.
But! How long could it last? Waiting for the trees to burn out was not a dead-end!
The white dragon looked at the humans in the woods as if he was looking at the dead meat.
In the woods, humans gathered in the air purification circle. On the periphery, soldiers cut down trees to create barriers. The mage gathered a stream of water to extinguish the surrounding flames.
The air purification array could only keep the smoke out, but it couldn't isolate the flames and high temperatures. The soldiers standing on the periphery endured the burning flames, and big beads of sweat flowed down their chins.
Bruce gave an order, "Warriors on the outside, rotate every ten minutes."
In the centre of the circle, the masters surrounded Bruce.
Bruce asked the archmage beside him in a low voice, "Master Jax, how is it? Did you contact them?"
Jax put away the empty crystal test tube of the magical power recovery potion, and replied: "Master Bruce wait a minute, this kind of distance communication is very expensive, and Master Earl needs enough preparation to pass the message to us."
Bruce felt a little bored,
This special communication scroll was made by the Adventurer’s Guild. The farther the communication distance between the two connected special scrolls, the more the magic power consumed increases exponentially. Now that the distance was so far, only the archmage could withstand this horrible rate of consumption.
However, there was only one archmage in Pele, and the earl had to hire multiple high-level mages to work together to transmit information. However, high-level masters were not so easy to find.
"Hey? It's coming!"
Jax sensed the magic wave of the scroll in his arms, took it out, unfolded it, and everyone surrounded him.
"The Pele Port area was jointly attacked by several pirate groups. Ships and buildings in the port area were burned to ashes. Lord Earl hired three large mercenary groups..." (The port area cannot be protected by city walls)
Bruce's face turned for the worse. The mercenary group had just found the ship. Even if he took the fastest ship, it would take at least a day to reach there. When the mercenary group arrived, the bodies of Bruce and others would’ve long gone cold.
Jax looked hesitant at the ordinary soldiers outside, "Master Bruce! It's better than..."
"No! Not that far!"
Bruce interrupted Jax, took out a bunch of scrolls, and distributed them to all high-level professionals, "Even if this fails, we take a bite of the enemy before we fall!”
Bruce then said to Jax, "Master! If the situation is irreversible! Then I’ll have to trouble you!"
Jax nodded when he heard the words.
In all fairness, Jax didn't want to leave the ordinary soldiers to teleport and escape. Since Master Bruce still wanted to fight, Jax had to stay with him to the end.
At dawn, the fire was still burning!
Amos was on the beach, eating grilled fish happily, watching his enemies suffer in the fire. This contrast made the dragon so happy.
Suddenly, a dragon chant came from the horizon, and the voice was clear and loud.
Amos frowned and turned to look at a small black spot on the horizon.
Why did a dragon pop up?
