Witchy Woes

Chapter 22: Chapter 22

Waking up with a groan, the first thing that registered to me was the glare of sunlight through the blinds of my window. The second thing was another person leaning on me.

Dragging my eyes to the side, I'm met with the sight of Bonnie using my arm as a pillow. I'm pretty sure my arm would be a little numb if I wasn't enhanced. The little witch is like a koala, holding on to my arm, even asleep.

Evidently, that didn't last long as my movement woke her up. Slowly, her eyes peeled open, well rested before they landed on me, shooting open in panic.

"Well you look like you were having a good time. Dreaming of me already?" I teased, almost cackling as she practically shot off the bed, tripping and almost falling face first were it not for my telekinetic grip on her. "Careful there,"

I lowered her softly back on the bed, getting a sigh of relief from her. "I'm sorry! I panicked." She admitted, finally starting to calm down.

"It's alright. If it makes you feel any better, we didn't do anything last night. I mean, besides you using me as a pillow." I said, causing her to push her face into the pillow in embarrassment. Oh I'm not forgetting that any time soon and neither will she.

She mumbled something but it came out muffled. "I didn't get that." I said, straining my ear.

Finally raising her head, she sat on the bed, facing me. "I said thank you. I know it's been a lot, with you helping me bring grams back and then the whole fiasco yesterday."

"The first one was technically a deal but I'll take your gratitude any day." I said, getting her to crack a smile. "She's fine by the way, she's sleeping peacefully in the living room."

"More awake than you think." Sheila's voice came as she pushed the door open.

"I guess knocking isn't a thing where you're from." I muttered with a roll of my eyes as Bonnie shot off the bed, running to the woman and engulfing her in a hug.

"You're okay!" She cried out, holding the older woman who reciprocated the embrace.

"I'm fine, baby. I'm here." Sheila said, comforting her granddaughter. There's a conflicted look in her eyes as she looks past Bonnie, at me.

She's grateful that I saved her and protected Bonnie from her in her possessed state while also upset that she was now dragged into it. Well they weren't targeting Bonnie but I'm not going to stop her mind from running wild. Still, witches are vindictive and can, a lot of times, be worse than vampires so I can't be too sure.

"Thank you." She simply said.

"The pleasure is all mine but I'd rather we take this to the kitchen. I don't know about you but we didn't exactly get to finish making dinner yesterday." That's probably why I was so cranky last night. It all worked out for me so that's fine.

Xx-Xx-Xx

It didn't take long for me to whip up some pancakes for all to enjoy. If the hum from Bonnie was anything, she liked it a lot.

"This is amazing!" She said, savoring the taste as I gave a mock salute before squaring up to the table with my own stack of pancakes.

Sheila was more subdued but I could tell she liked it despite how little she reacted. "So, what happens now? The witches won't take this lying down."

"Well for one, I doubt they would try anything soon. By now they know that possession you will get them nowhere. If they try anything else it'll be through a different angle." I said, leaving out the part that they wouldn't ever risk possessing anyone around me.

With the threat of being turned into a cancerous vampire hanging over their ghostly heads, they'd be fools to try it a second time. That and the fact that I could still resurrect them and make them suffer a similar fate should be enough to make them think twice. If they still want to scheme then I can't be blamed for retaliating.

"What about the witch you pulled out of grams?" Bonnie asked.

"I've got that handled, don't worry your pretty head about it." I said, subtly nudging her and Sheila to leave it at that. I can't exactly say I have an ex witch, now mute cancerous vampire, suffering somewhere, can I? "What we should worry about is getting you up to speed. You're still a novice in witchcraft and if you're going to get mixed up in all this supernatural sinkhole, you need to be at the top of your game or they're going to eat you for breakfast."

"He has a point. Your friend Elena's already gotten herself caught up in it, now you." Sheila said, agreeing with me.

"Elena and I haven't exactly been on the best terms for a while now." Bonnie admits, her voice quiet.

"She's your friend, isn't she?" I asked, getting a confused nod from Bonnie. "She made a mistake, it happens. We've all made mistakes but you shouldn't let that destroy years of friendship."

"I thought you didn't like Elena." She said in further confusion. I really didn't but I'm playing the long game here. Am I judging her based on what she did on a tv show? Yes I am and I will continue to do so until I see proof that would counter that.

"I may not be fond of her but she's your friend, isn't she? She's important to you so I can stomach it." I said, taking another bite out of my food.

Bonnie making up with Elena would end in two ways: Either Elena learns that she can't have her way by emotionally manipulating the people around her and actually becomes a good friend or it happens again and Bonnie learns that Elena isn't the saint she thinks herself to be. Either way, she'd be grateful to me for convincing her to reconcile with Elena despite my dislike for her.

The latter scenario would push Bonnie even further to me so I win either way.

Moving past that, I now have a list of magical herbs and items that I want to get a hold of and between the three of us, Sheila is the one with the connections in the witch society. It's time to put this 'alliance' to use.

-[John Gilbert]-

Driving back to Mystic Falls, he couldn't help but feel nostalgic. This was the place where he grew up but after his brother, Grayson, died, he couldn't bring himself to step into it.

Now he forced himself back here if only to stop someone from doing something stupid. Jenna was his sister-in-law and was currently Elena and Jeremy's guardian. Despite that, she had no claims to any of the Gilbert property and needed to consult him before she could sell any of it.

With the recent news he'd been hearing about 'animal attacks', it could only mean that vampires were back. That and Katherine's eyes in Mystic Falls told her that the Salvatore brothers were back in town. Worse, Elena was friends with them, even dating one of them.

Elena was the doppelgänger and her getting mixed up with vampires would inevitably draw attention to Mystic Falls as word spread about her existence.

If care wasn't taken, Klaus would hear about her and she'd be as good as dead in the Original's desire to break the sun and moon curse. He couldn't let that happen, she was his and Isobel's daughter after all.

Author Note: So far I've avoided smut scenes in any fic I've written and I've mostly gotten away with that because of the settings they were in but here in vampire diaries nobody is a blushing virgin. The point I'm getting at is simple.

Should I try adding R18 scenes or should I continue stepping over it?

(I haven't tried writing a smut scene before)
