Chapter 182: Vampire Hunter

1 Year since my disappearance, now I reach Japan. I met many Yokai and some cursed and holy relics that I deliberately stole from the government, from cursed swords to other relics of God. But I did something unspeakable.

[Active Magic: Copy Obtained]

Yes, I copied the item and put it back. The real one was with me all along. After venturing through Asia and studying religions like Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shinto, and many other belief systems across Asia, Africa, and Europe, it is now time to move on to America and Australia.

Once I reached Australia, it was not a happy trip. Too many monsters, which were, in fact, three times the size of a human adult.

This was tripping, and I was tripping hard. It took seven months in Australia fighting those Australian wildlife. Australians breed differently, after all.

I escaped from that hellhole and headed to New Zealand, which felt like a "hell timeout"—a place of respite but not peace. We then returned to hell for another three months to search for evil gods. Yep, I had seen enough. It was time to get the hell out.

I made my way toward America and landed in Hawaii. In Hawaii, it felt like vacation time. I fought many supernatural beings emerging from volcanoes—these beings were a handful to deal with, including a literal goddess and her many spirits that were running around here.

I basically took a holiday in Hawaii and enjoyed every single moment until the time was up. I continued on to America, aiming to find lost relics from Canada to Argentina.

The monsters here were more brutal and more sadistic than the ones in Europe. Once I finished that journey, I headed to Greenland and Iceland. It was a cold journey, but alas, I had completed my task.

[Collect Many Holy and Cursed Relics as Mathias Cronqvist Complete]

[Understand Other Religions Complete]

Still, I hadn't defeated many vampires... I needed to travel around the world again. I fought countless vampires during these excursions—some were spared because they were too weak, while others were killed and turned into Crimson Crucifix power.

[Win Against Many Strong Vampires While Still Being Mathias Complete]

Many main tasks remained incomplete, so I needed to improvise.

"Could you guys help me with something?"

"Sure, we hear you."

I returned to the Church. At that moment, the Church celebrated my arrival. Many saints, cardinals, and other individuals, including royalty, praised me upon my return. Until that fateful night.

A vampire attacked the Holy Palace, ravaging and corrupting many pure individuals, pulling them down into debauchery.

A vampire appeared with a proud look.

"Isn't it, Holy Man? I hear you've successfully defeated many strong supernatural beings, but I wonder—are you able to defeat me?"

The vampire waved his robe with pride, and a blade appeared, stabbing my back. My body was lifted, and I felt my body being bitten by him.

The vampire had finished draining my body. My body turned into a skeleton, leaving nothing but bones before the vampire vanished. Once the city fell, I used magic in my spare time.

[Complex Magic: Memory Alteration: Manipulates or erases memories within individuals]

[Transcendence Magic: History Manipulation: Controls and alters historical events and records]

I could now mind control and manipulate Canon events.

This time, I controlled Dracula's Origin.

Dracula was a lesser vampire with a grudge against Mathias because of his holy task. Envious of Mathias' achievements, Dracula sought him out. Upon hearing of Mathias' presence in the Pope's region, Dracula attacked that region but was killed in the process.

All those slain fought bravely. The Pope managed to escape safely, but alas...

Saint Mathias was listed as "missing in action" due to the accident. Dracula's condition was unknown. Records suggested that Saint Mathias' Holy Staff had been stolen during the attack. Whoever possessed this staff would wield the power of God. Whether the vampire succeeded in stealing it or died in the process remained vague due to the lack of witnesses.

I hid myself after pulling off this big-brain move to ensure I wouldn't appear too suspicious in instigating the attack. Now, I would stay in Wallachia to create the "canonical" Dracula for the next 200 years.

The news spread like wildfire across the world—Europe, Africa, Asia, America, Australia. The attack on the Pope's region by a vampire and the disappearance of Saint Mathias led the Pope to issue a decree to hunt the vampire and locate the Holy Staff, no matter what.

At my funeral, the Pope praised me, declaring me the greatest strategist ever known and a valiant fighter against incredible odds. He honored me as the first impactful Crusader who would guard Heaven's gates for all religions.

[Join Crusade Complete]

They treated me like a hero, but I knew I would live long enough to see myself become a villain.

"Master, the preparation is complete."

Death appeared, and I nodded. After finishing the creation of a magic circle to the chaos realm and placing my coffin there, I would soon embark on a journey to defeat chaos and become either the Chaos King or Demon Lord.

"Thank you. For now, prepare the castle and any other task I give to you."

"It shall be done."

I walked toward the magic circle and lay down on the coffin as the magic activated. I fell into a deep sleep.

I awoke in the Chaos Realm. Unlike the Immaterium, this realm felt calmer, and my immunity to negative energy kept me unaffected. Chaos entities looked at me with curiosity. They knew I wasn't corrupted by chaos—little did they know that was exactly my aim.

"Time for the great hunt!"

I fought chaos beings while remaining Mathias—pure human, relying on mortal abilities rather than divine powers. With tactics and careful strategy, the chaos entities fell before me. This realm was now mine.

I remembered Immaterium, but this realm was significantly calmer. Still, I experienced far worse and felt that this was my purpose—to claim this place as my own.

"Where is my Ashen One Ring?"

"Ck, you remember."

[User Obtained Ashen One Ring]

[Ashen One Ring capability currently unknown and not added.]

"Do you think what I think it is?"

"Curious."

I suspected that the Ashen One Ring could absorb divine souls and potentially allow me to act as a proxy for absorbing gods, primordial beings, and even conceptual powers through its soul-absorption properties. I would need an immense amount of chaos essence to fuel this plan, but now that chaos was here, the ring would become my God Slayer.

"Good idea. Do it then."

I began fusing the entire Chaos Realm into the Ashen One Ring. The process of unification was time-consuming, but with my mortal ability, Poise, and sheer determination, I would complete this task.

[Ashen One Ring : Unique Ring capable absorbing soul, nature, origin of God, Primordial, Conceptual to existence never exist from their power, ability and capability in true potential.

Chaos Core : A Chaos Realm and Chaos Entity sublimed into Core that fuel your dark power]

Now this place has become empty, consumed by darkness itself. I step into Hell and the Demon Realm. The moment I enter, suddenly, Doom music begins to play.

This place is full of Evil Gods. Perhaps I could destroy them all with ease.

I drew the Blade of Chaos and began my rampage through Hell. Every layer, I wreaked havoc—killing everything that moved, breathed, or existed. I destroyed everything that was already destroyed, ensuring that Hell became my personal playground.

I struck down every Evil God, Demon Goetia, and every monstrous demon that called this place home. They were all essentially immortal, as Hell is their birthplace. But I wanted to instill fear all the way to the bottom of Hell, ensuring my name, Dracula, howled through every layer. With the Chaos infusion in my ring, I amplified my dark powers even further.

Meanwhile, in my Eternal Night Castle...

Death had successfully recruited humans and other beings who had turned their backs on God or were shunned by the light to my Castle. Some of them were genuinely curious about whom Lord Death served, as Death was an unusually straightforward being.

When they reached my chambers, at the center of the room sat a coffin, wrapped with magical chains, constantly pulsing and emitting waves of chaotic energy. It was as though a battle was waging inside the coffin itself. The energy leaking out of the magical circle binding it was intense—malevolent, evil, chaotic, and screeching.

The sheer amount of dark energy was enough to erode sanity if one lingered too long.

"We should leave, or the malevolent energy will claim us all," one of them whispered, watching the eerie aura grow stronger.

I sat casually, observing that Hell had now been completely destroyed.

Hell here and True Hell were vastly different—especially in terms of size and enemy intensity. The enemies here were far weaker compared to those in True Hell, and I felt fortunate to have experienced the horrors of the True Hell.

I wiped the sweat from my brow. The heat here was unbearable, you see. I looked over the desolate Hell that I had utterly annihilated—literally, I had obliterated the very concept of Hell itself.

"Say... what if I absorb this Hell?"

"You would gain Primordial Hell."

"More powerful than Fire. More deadly than Death itself. More alive than Life. More chaotic than Chaos. The very antithesis of Arcane and Order."

"Practically, yes."

"Very well... I need to make the Anti-thesis of Hell after this."

I focused on absorbing Hell into myself. The sensation was like bathing in a sauna—hot, overwhelming, but oddly satisfying.

As I absorbed Hell into my being, the temperature in my Eternal Night Castle began to fluctuate. My chambers were literally wrapped in hellfire itself, the heat sparking from the magical seals around the doorways. Even though they were tightly sealed, flames and sparks continued to erupt from the cracks.

[Primordial Essence Absorbed: Hell]

Hell had finally become one with me. However, my chest underwent sudden and painful changes—my veins glowed incandescent orange. The question now was whether I could harness this newfound demonic energy and use Devil Trigger.

Because the Hell energy wasn't fully under my control yet, I had to circulate it through my body. At first, it felt like bathing in hot water as the sensation reached my brain. Like a wave of boiling liquid, the energy spread into each of my cells, rapidly processing this new, profound power.

And then it happened. I transformed myself into the Demon King.

"You look horrifying to look at. I prefer the old you."

Satan appeared and handed me a mirror. I looked into it and saw my monstrous, terrifying new form. My appearance had changed dramatically—I now followed the Dark Harbinger Sephiroth style, with long, pale hair and demonic horns.

"So, Mathias or Vlad Tepes?"

"Mathias is dead. Now, I am Vlad Tepes."

"You want Divine Ability back?"

"Hmm... I still haven't completed my task, fighting Evil Gods as Mathias."

"You completed it here. Technically, you challenged endgame bosses instead of scenario bosses."

"I see. Very well. Show me the quest completion."

[Slain Each Evil God as Dracula: Reward Enhanced & Upgraded]

[Understand Order and Chaos as Mathias Cronqvist Complete]

[Main Quest Complete: User can now complete Scenario Missions]

"Now what?"

"It's time to return."

"Divine Ability?"

"Curious enough, I want something else. I need to amplify my Seraphim Voice."

I infused divine and arcane energy into my Seraphim Voice, and it was done.

[Seraphim Voice Lv. 900 > Lv. Undetermined: Aegir Muses, Voice Soul, Word of Divine. 3/7 Set]

Now, only one shard was missing. I needed to gather it, as some abilities remained locked without the corresponding shard.

"Divine ability?"

"Are you testing me right now?"

"...Yes. Now, activate your Divine Ability."

"...Fine, you win, Satan."

Satan posed in victory, and I activated my Divine Ability.

[Divine Ability Active]

"Great, the torment begins now."

I returned to the mortal world.

As I awoke from my slumber in my chambers, I noticed an atmospheric shift. I sat up from my coffin, yawning, and then opened the curtain, only to be blasted by sunlight.

"Awwww... that hurt... nah, just joking."

[Conquer the Sun as you turn into Dracula Complete.]

With this completed, only four quests remained. Now it was time for me to become the "hero for the bad girls," as my appearance and nature had drastically changed. My face retained its original shape but bore the Fierce Deity Mark, my eyes glowed, my hair grew longer and turned white with a shimmering gloss.

Alice loved braiding my hair during our downtime. Alyssa enjoyed painting my nails and offering gentle finger care, she always loved holding my hand.

After fixing my hair and inspecting my demonic horns a little ticklish, but not sensitive. I prepared my robe and transformed into Dracula's regal clothes.

The title awaited me: Duke of Valachia... or Walachia, depending on preference.

In the castle, many beings and people gathered. Death had declared that Dracula, the master of the castle, had awoken.

Once everyone had assembled, a profound silence descended upon them. No sound was heard, yet the presence was undeniable—a strong, eerie, and overwhelming aura that threatened anyone in its vicinity. As I walked toward the crowd, each step was soundless, but the air itself radiated dominance, power, and beauty—a majesty that no mortal nor god could resist or endure.

"Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, to my castle. I am Dracula Vlad Tepes, the vampire who killed Saint Mathias and absorbed his existence. You are now free to conduct heretical and forbidden experiments in my castle, should you wish to explore the Dark Force that belongs to Evil Entities or the Light Force that belongs to God. Here, you may do as you please. Nobody will judge, grow paranoid, or resent your actions, for you are all humans and beings who have turned your backs on God or have suffered injustice at the hands of a fragile, hypocritical society. Enough of this talk. I will take a walk to test the unspeakable powers of Saint Mathias. Have a good night, Ladies and Gentlemen. May our immortal and immoral lives lead us to discover purpose within our fragile existence."

I raised my hand, and the God Staff appeared, leaping into my grasp.

"Triple Transcendence Magic: World Creation—World Natural Source, Star Sky Formation, Kingdom."

I tapped the staff onto the floor. As it made contact, the Valachia Region was instantly rebuilt. The Earth's geography, rivers, lakes, forests, and terrain were reconstructed from scratch, blending both natural and magical forms.

The forests teemed with wildlife, and the land was overflowing with minerals and resources. The seas and rivers shimmered with gold and other treasures.

Above the horizon, the sky was a tapestry of celestial bodies—stars, planets, and galaxies formed constellations that were beautiful, distant, and mesmerizing. The sheer majesty of these celestial arrangements was breathtaking.

Villages, cities, walls, gates, and castles were reconstructed with proper foundations, irrigation systems, sanitation, mine tunnels, and other vital infrastructure. These facilities were well-equipped to support the many villagers who had chosen to stay here. Ports were established, trade routes set up, and improved fishing stations built—all designed to sustain against the oncoming catastrophes of time.

My castle, on the other hand, was divine in every way—a heavenly place of divine craftsmanship, intricate artistry, and impeccable beauty. Its pillars, corridors, and architecture represented the peak of creation—constructed with care and skill that even gods would admire.

"This will be murmurs. Transcendence Magic: History Manipulation."

A scroll appeared before me, and I began writing with unyielding passion.

The scroll chronicled the story of a legendary artisan who spent his life searching for the Cosmic Forge. According to legend, the one who found it could craft entire worlds and stars onto their canvas. After a lifetime of searching, this artisan gave up his quest and passed his legacy to his pupils. His students succeeded in creating the Cosmic Forge, and the legendary artisan could now rest in peace, knowing his legacy would endure.

"And done. No need for exaggeration."

The scroll vanished, disappearing into the wind with a faint sound. With it, history had been altered. I casually walked toward my front gate, which opened automatically through a mechanical system. Archimedes was always watching, ever loyal.

Everyone here wondered about my true power—the strength of a being capable of defeating Saint Mathias, a living legend, and absorbing his essence. While this was undoubtedly Saint Mathias's power, my vampire nature amplified it to godlike proportions, akin to a deity crafting reality itself.

"Such power..."

I set out for Romania to coronate myself as Duke of Valachia. The process was surprisingly simple, especially since the daughter of the Romanian king had inexplicably fallen in love with me despite already being married.

My beauty was simply incomprehensible to human standards. I seduced my way into power, claiming my place without resistance. World domination was boring; I preferred to enjoy this life in the 12th century.

In just three days, I became the Duke of Valachia. Once the coronation was complete, I returned to my domain to engage with my vassals. Many villages in Valachia had grown restless due to the presence of monstrous terror.

I calmed them with assurances and propaganda, claiming that God had blessed this land with prosperity. They rejoiced and found peace in these words, even as fear lingered in their hearts.

"I wonder... does the canon still happen?"

"Yes, it still happened. Belmont is tracking the vampire who killed Mathias. The Church has received information that you may be a clue."

"How come?"

"You share similarities with Mathias, though the mark on you is different. Everyone believes you are the vampire who killed Mathias."

"Despite the fact that I was Mathias... well, I'm curious how this will play out."

The 13th Century

By this time, my kingdom of Valachia had become prosperous by day and terrifying by night. The rumors of monsters terrorizing the villages faded, for the creatures I tamed became the night guardians of these villages. Some heretic humans and witches remained within my kingdom, and I spoke with them directly.

"During the day, you may socialize in nearby villages or towns. However, do not venture beyond my territory. You are labeled as heretics here, and even if you have no malicious intentions, you would rather die as humans than be burned at the stake as witches or heretics. I respect your lives as they are, but this is a warning: witchcraft is taboo in this age. Always maintain caution, keep your guard up, for eyes and ears are everywhere. Blend in with local customs if you find yourself in an unknown region. Rumors can become deadly weapons. Stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary suspicion."

I laid down these orders, and my command was absolute. Everyone obeyed without question, for my presence and influence inspired unwavering loyalty.

With these instructions, my kingdom flourished, free from external unrest, yet shrouded in whispers and legends of power, monstrous yet divine, beautiful yet terrifying.

my region is practically full of Mystical being in night but in the day, they just human socialize together like normal human.

14th Century

I met Lisa, a humble woman who, for some reason, grew interested in me. At this time, the Black Plague had spread across Europe and Asia, and I was aware of the devastating toll it took.

But I held the cure—a remedy I had developed and made exclusive to my region, Valachia. Anyone outside my lands was left to suffer. I was petty like that.

The Black Plague ravaged Europe, and the population shrank as the disease spread like wildfire. The culprits behind the plague's amplification were poor decisions—like the king's decision to kill countless stray cats, which caused the rat population to explode. Europe, already fragile, was plunged into chaos, with many dying and being burned in mass funerals.

Lisa found me because of the cure. Desperate, she pleaded with me to share it with the world. But I had my doubts.

"Today's panic is not your control, sweetie," I told her. "If I spread the cure, it will be considered witchcraft by this era. Some people will believe it's God's retribution, but no, sweetheart. This is not a divine punishment. It is the work of humans themselves. I am not human, darling. I'm a vampire. If you seek humanity from me, look around. What do you see? I treat people as human, no matter how shady their background. They may not adhere to your religious standards, but they've done nothing wrong. Now, what do I get if I spread the cure? A thank-you from the weak? Recognition from the powerful? This era is one of desperation, and everything is fair game in a panic like this. If you truly want me to share the cure, very well—but be warned. You'll see human nature in all its ugliness. Once you've seen it, don't blame me. I warned you in advance."

I felt like this was yet another pointless cycle, like something out of Arknights, where the protagonist ends up taking care of everyone else's mess.

I gathered all my people in the capital town. Many of them arrived, but not all—some had their own agendas.

"Good day, ladies and gentlemen," I began. "I have called you here for something important."

I bowed and summoned many angelic beings—Lesser Angels, Cherubim, Seraphim, and even God Himself. A radiant light from the heavens filled the sky, overpowering the sun.

God's voice resonated across creation. "Vlad Tepes, I have answered your prayers. What is it that you seek?"

Everyone—be they monster, witch, heretic, human, or even animals—instinctively bowed.

"Praise be to the Lord, God Almighty," I said. "The Black Plague spreads across Europe, but only my region has been spared. We have developed the cure, but today's era will consider it witchcraft. I fear that one day my region will be branded heretical for this. I do not wish for those who distribute the cure to die in vain. Most of us have turned our backs on you, oh Forgiver. Please forgive them. If they are slain in this holy task, pardon their sins and promise them heaven as their reward for their dedication to the salvation of humanity."

God's voice replied, "It shall be granted. Those who die as bringers of the cure shall be pardoned for their sins and promised heaven as their eternal destination. Their holy task shall be pure, and they shall be free of desire, temptation, and sin. The reward shall be theirs."

"Praise the Lord Almighty for His kindness," I said as God returned to heaven, and all the angels followed—except for the Seraphim, who handed me a box filled with vials of the cure.

I stood and surveyed the contents. There was indeed a large amount of the cure—everything from injections to potions.

"Behold, my people," I called out. "God has answered our prayers and given us the holy task of salvation for our miserable, cursed lives. God promises to pardon all our sins and grant us heaven if we fall in this task. Come, my people. Humanity needs us, no matter who we are or what we have become. God has given us a second chance to redeem ourselves and fulfill His will directly. Come, salvation awaits!"

My people praised God and shouted His name.

We began the holy task, spreading the cure from Romania, moving westward. We were not tempted by anything offered in return, despite saving lives along the way.

In this sacred journey, I stopped countless witch trials and punished many unjust church officials and followers. It was strangely satisfying, like a stress relief.

In just three years, we had cured all of Europe and the Middle East. However, the price was high. Seventy percent of our group had been slain by bandits and nobles envious of our God-granted task.

Some people tried to join our mission, but I didn't know whether they were truly part of our cause. We could accept nothing from them, only give. Many almost gave up, but the promise of heaven kept their spirits high, and they persevered. This reminded me of Arknights, I missed those days.

"Fucking bastards, cunning as always... it's a complete cycle, don't you think?" Mael teased, comparing it to Arknights again. It was the same with me as the Doctor, rallying everyone from all walks of life for a unified purpose. It was beautiful coordination, but this time, instead of commanding from behind the scenes, I led from the front lines.

Though I lost some people along the way, they accepted death with open arms, not fighting it but embracing it. When the task was complete, did I receive recognition? No. I didn't care about that. As long as I got this:

[Prevent Unjustified Witch Trials, Complete]

I could finally rest instead of playing the role of the hero in some damsel-in-distress cliché.

Upon returning to my region, we held mass burials for the fallen. The graveyard was empty, the bodies long gone, but the gravestones remained with their names etched into them.

Fathers had lost their daughters and sons, wives their husbands, children their parents. Did they blame themselves? No. Human nature exploits the situation. Without God's warning in advance about what should and should not be done, they would never have received the reward.

Then, an angel appeared, and God descended once more from heaven.

"You have completed the distribution of the cure, as I promised. Those who fell in this holy task shall be granted pardon and heaven as promised. For those who remain, you have two choices. Surrender yourselves and receive the reward, or continue living until death claims you, with the reward still applied."

"We surrender ourselves to You, My Lord," one by one, the people passed away without hesitation or second thoughts.

Except for Lisa. She had lived through it all and understood human nature now—how beautiful and stubborn humanity could be. They could do amazing things in the future, but only when something was certain and absolute. Even if it tormented them, they would embrace it.

"Mathias Cronqvist, or Vlad Tepes, Your holy task is complete. You shall return to being who you truly are."

[Become Great Duke of Valachia, Complete]

"God, are you serious?"

"Yes, Alyssa needs you right now."

I instantly remembered Alyssa is in the Fate universe. I couldn't afford to waste time playing the hero or villain in some game. Alyssa existed in another world, and I had to get her back to me.

"Yes, I must go now," I thought, determination rising within me.

I turned to Lisa, taking out the Red Crucifix.

"Lisa, kill me. Put this Red Crucifix on my forehead."

"What?"

"Do it. You must kill me. Hurry!"

"Why?!"

"I have no time left before I am corrupted. Hurry! After you kill me, get out of here, leave this place and never return. You are a good woman. Find a good man who will grant you happiness."

"But... you are the one who granted me happiness."

"I'm not human, Lisa. You must find another human. After you kill me, break the crucifix with holy water."

"But... I love you. Please, don't give up. There are many people out there you can help." I kissed her to silence her, then looked into her eyes with a smile.

"Then be the person who can help others. Be like me. You may not have magic or witchcraft abilities, but you can study medicine. Learn all the knowledge I've shared with you. Even if the world sees you as a bad person, you'll know that everyone here... they died without regret because they were given purpose. Now you must sacrifice something. If you choose me, when I lose you, I will lose my humanity, and I will swear revenge upon them. But if you lose me, you will still have my will, my knowledge, and my medical genius. All of it is yours." I tapped my finger over her heart, not her chest, though the desire was there.

"It's the heart, Lisa. Be better, be kind to humans, be benevolent, no matter how difficult the trials. Now, please... end my suffering and live a life as my pupil."

I knelt, embracing the sweet relief of death.

"Hurry... end me."

Lisa hesitated, tears in her eyes. But eventually, she placed the crucifix to my forehead. The pain was unimaginable as my skin burned from the intense purification. I died by the flames of the Red Crucifix, its red hue turning black and releasing a malevolent energy that consumed me.

"Thank you." My body fell, disintegrating like particles into nothingness. Valachia, once thriving, returned to its abandoned state, ruins where nothing remained.

Lisa cried, unable to remember who had given her the crucifix, who owned the kingdom, or who had taught her so much. All she knew was that someone had asked her to destroy the crucifix, and she did.

As she placed the crucifix in holy water, it disintegrated, the water turning red. She broke the potion, and then, with a final tear, walked away from the ruined kingdom. Lisa swore to record the kingdom as Vlad's Kingdom, a ruined land destroyed by plague after creating a miracle cure.

I sighed as I appeared in the real world.

"That was anti-climactic. Give me my reward, hurry."
