Chapter 202: Chapter 201: Infinity Castle (End)

"It's finally coming to an end," Daniel Davis thought as he sat on the rooftop, using his Observation Haki to sense the single-eyed creatures that were constantly monitoring the area. He felt a mixture of relief and contemplation. What should have taken two more years to resolve would be over in just half a year since he came to this world. Although many mysteries remained unsolved, such as why Muzan became a demon and what medicine the doctor used a thousand years ago, it didn't matter anymore. Overanalyzing everything would lead to a philosophical dilemma: Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going?

"Truly worthy of the Ubuyashiki family, they are not afraid of death," Daniel shook his head in resignation as he watched the two sisters playing in the courtyard. The trap was set, and to lure Muzan into it, Kagaya's wife and their two youngest daughters would stay with him. Only this could convince Muzan that it wasn't a trap. If there were no children, Muzan, with his cautious nature, might not fall for it.

Just like in the original story, Kagaya had rigged his estate with explosives to severely injure Muzan, allowing Daniel to finish him off. Even if Muzan, like Upper Rank Three, wouldn't die from decapitation, the Hashira would then work together to restrain him until sunrise.

With the plan refined, it was no longer just Daniel executing it. The Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, joined in. Among the nine Hashira, he was the strongest, even stronger than the Flame Hashira.

Gyomei, like Mitsuri Kanroji, was naturally strong. Before joining the Demon Slayer Corps, he had single-handedly killed demons with his bare fists. He had saved the Serpent Hashira and the Kocho sisters in the past.

Due to their business dealings, the Ubuyashiki family, like Muzan, kept pace with the times. Though the Demon Slayer Corps could use firearms, the weapons of that era were inferior in range, power, and reload speed compared to modern ones. Additionally, guns were not as effective as Nichirin swords; they could only harm but not kill demons.

Thus, apart from Sanemi Shinazugawa's brother, Genya, who used guns, no one else did.

Genya, unable to master breathing techniques due to his lack of talent, had discovered a way to combat demons by consuming them, gaining their powers and abilities.

Daniel had obtained Genya's blood for study. Though Genya had yet to officially join the Demon Slayer Corps, he was already a trainee, much like Kanao Tsuyuri and Aoi Kanzaki.

Daniel didn't object to Kagaya's plan. It was their belief, after all. However, how it was executed was another matter. Once Muzan appeared, Daniel would take action, negating the need for Kagaya to detonate the explosives.

"Finally, he's here." As time passed, Muzan appeared near the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters. A handsome young man with black hair, pale skin, and blood-red pupils, Muzan smiled coldly as he approached the Ubuyashiki estate, thinking he was the final victor in the millennium-long battle between demons and the Demon Slayer Corps.

"Hey, Muzan Kibutsuji, finally showing up? I've been waiting for you." Daniel suddenly appeared a meter away from Muzan, placing his left hand on Muzan's shoulder. Muzan, shocked, watched as Daniel's right hand, holding a red-flamed Nichirin sword, swung toward his neck.

"What's he doing?" Gyomei Himejima, hidden nearby, froze mid-prayer, shocked by Daniel's sudden attack. He never imagined that their one chance to kill Muzan would be jeopardized by Daniel.

For the Demon Slayer Corps, any sacrifice, even the head's death and the annihilation of the nine Hashira, was worth it to kill Muzan, the Demon King.

Startled by the sudden appearance and red blade, Muzan's pupils contracted. He instinctively recalled the nightmare-inducing figure of Yoriichi Tsugikuni from four hundred years ago.

With his heart pounding and the shadow of death looming, Muzan's intense survival instinct kicked in. "Nakime!" he shouted.

The space around them distorted, and Daniel's slash hit empty air as Muzan vanished.

"Space manipulation? You won't escape this time," Daniel smirked, sensing the magical mark he had left on Muzan.

"Infinity Castle, huh?" Daniel noted as he found himself in a vast hall. He quickly activated the Mirror Dimension, extending it like glass to cover the entire Infinity Castle.

"One, two, three, eight people. All the Upper Rank demons are here, including Muzan and Nakime. Lucky me." Six Upper Rank demons, Muzan, and Nakime—eight in total.

The new Upper Rank Six was Kaigaku, who had gained strength from becoming a demon and filling the vacancy.

Muzan's cautious nature meant he wouldn't face Kagaya alone. He had his Upper Rank demons on standby in the Infinity Castle, ready for any unforeseen events.

"Nakime, get me out of here," Muzan ordered, always the coward. Despite having all the Upper Rank demons and himself, his first instinct was to flee.

The memory of Yoriichi still haunted him. Although Daniel bore no resemblance to Yoriichi and didn't wear hanafuda earrings, the red blade and sudden speed triggered Muzan's trauma.

As his chest heaved, Muzan's anger grew when Nakime didn't respond. "Nakime, are you rebelling?" he shouted, his voice a mix of anger and fear.

By the fourth shout with no response, Muzan's face twisted in rage. He decided to kill Nakime, who had betrayed him.

Aside from a few like Nezuko and Tamayo, who had broken free from his control, Muzan could kill any demon at will, including Upper Rank One.

Nakime, who had been trying to transport Muzan, suddenly vomited blood and died, turning to ashes. With her death, Infinity Castle began to collapse, except for the hall where Muzan and the Upper Rank demons stood.

"They're dead. Muzan, you coward." Daniel realized what had happened. Though losing an Upper Rank demon was a pity, it didn't bother him much. After all, six more were left.

In the Mirror Dimension, Daniel faced the six Upper Rank demons. They were surprised by the situation but didn't seem too concerned.

Kaigaku, now Upper Rank Six, grinned maliciously at Daniel.

"Just one person?" Douma frowned, then smiled. "Let the newcomer handle it. He seems to have a grudge. Can you manage, newcomer?" he asked Kaigaku.

"Yes, Lord Douma," Kaigaku replied, eager to prove himself. Despite his ambition, he was subservient to the other Upper Rank demons, unlike his arrogant self in the Demon Slayer Corps.

"Don't worry, I won't let you off easy," Kaigaku said, drawing his dull Nichirin sword and walking toward Daniel with a cruel smile. His hatred for Daniel, who had overshadowed him before, fueled his desire to prove himself.

Daniel ignored Kaigaku, his gaze sweeping over the other five Upper Rank demons. "All the Upper Rank demons and Muzan are here. This saves me a lot of time. Let's end this," he said with a faint smile. "Why don't you all attack together?"

Kaigaku, enraged by Daniel's disregard, charged. "Thunder Breathing, Fourth Form: Distant Thunder." As he moved, black lightning, a manifestation of his Blood Demon Art, crackled around him.

Daniel shook his head slightly, right hand on his sword. "Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash."

In an instant, Daniel remained in place while Kaigaku, having dashed past him, stopped seven or eight meters away.

Kaigaku's body erupted in a blood mist, his limbs, and torso separating with a massive spray of blood.

Daniel wouldn't kill Kaigaku outright but let him suffer. With his current strength and the power of the Op-Op Fruit, he could easily defeat all the Upper Rank demons and Muzan. However, he wanted them to suffer for their countless murders.

"You can't even master the First Form of Thunder Breathing, a true failure," Daniel mocked as Kaigaku struggled on the ground, slowly regenerating.

The essence of Thunder Breathing was its explosive power, with its primary technique being a single, decisive strike. The additional forms were created by a bored swordsman for fun, to add flair.

Kaigaku, unable to master the core technique, epitomized failure. If he had trained in Flame Breathing, he would have excelled. However, the advanced forms of Flame Breathing were passed down through family lines, inaccessible to him.
