Because he discovered that now, inside the carriage, he was the only person left, and Jenny and Agatha had vanished without a trace.

This eerie scene made all the hairs on Rein's body stand on end.

With his strength as a Peak Knight, it would be impossible for anyone, even a Great Knight, to abduct the two women right under his watchful eye.

Rein reached behind and gripped the hilt of his greatsword, on guard. It was peculiar to him why his level 3 'danger perception' had not given him any warning this time.

Soon, Rein could feel the carriage gradually come to a stop.

Suddenly, there was a knocking sound from outside the carriage.

"Thump thump thump!"

Rein was startled and tightened his grip on the sword hilt.

The anticipated attack did not happen, but instead, this 'enemy' had the courtesy to knock on the door. However, Rein quickly realized that it might not necessarily be an 'enemy.'

After a thought, Rein opened the carriage door.

He saw a tall, slender woman, dressed in a gray robe and wearing a hood, standing a few meters away from the carriage. From the hair that peeked out of her hood, it was an uncommon black.

The next second, as if in response to seeing Rein step out of the carriage, she pulled back her hood, revealing a beautiful female face.

And those distinctly pointed ears, characteristic of female elves, immediately drew Rein's attention.

A female elf?

Rein's eyes suddenly widened, and his descent from the carriage froze for a couple of seconds.

The dark-haired elf, with a pair of bright eyes framed by long lashes, surveyed Rein and said, "Young man, please do not worry about your two friends."

"We are currently in the Mist of Dreams, and at this moment, they have fallen into deep sleep, without any danger."
