Yandere Ojou-sama!

Chapter 45- I was just jealous…

"How is he?"

"Slight blood loss but no factor to worry about there. Seven bruises and a broken nose. I cleaned the wound on his brows and lips and also treated his nose. About the ointment -"

"I will do that. You may go."

Hearing the authoritative tone of the lady of the mansion, the doctor didn't ponder longer than he should before he bowed and vacated the room quickly, followed by the bespectacled head maid behind.

Minami glanced over her shoulder at Haruto for once, a strange gleam flashing across her eyes before she walked out of the room and closed the doors to save any intruder from becoming a source of the young lady's annoyance.

***Thud***

Akira didn't bother looking back at them since the time she entered the room, her gaze never left the boy lying on the bed with his face ruined up and breathing sluggishly flowing out his parted mouth.

It must be hurting to breathe through his nose, now that it was clogged with blood.

Akira had seen people in much worse state before but when it taints the face of the man she adores, Akira undoubtedly felt a stinging sensation never fading from her heart.

Her steps were slow but inside she had great urgency. She wanted to ask whether he was fine or why he did not dodge. Why did he let himself get beaten down to that extent, Akira wanted to know all of it.

But just as she took the seat beside his unmoving body, Haruto's hand found its way toward hers, making Akira tremble a bit at the warm sensation coursing through that single touch.

Akira was made to look into his half-closed eyes in a daze, many words already being expressed through the look before Akira's gaze on the bruises of his face and exposed chest.

Snatching her eyes away, Akira freed her hands from his before she uncovered his body down to the abdomen before his injured chest and upper body parts which had received damage came into view.

All her grief aside, she needed to treat him first.

"I am sorry...."

Is what he uttered in a broken and low tone but Akira didn't want to hear the reason behind his apology as of now.

She poured some cool ointment gel over her fingers before she began circling them over his black and blue skin. The lack of reaction from Haruto signified there was still something he wanted to say.

And indeed, after a brief pause, Haruto once again spoke up in the same tone.

"It was him, Akira... It was him..."

That...surprised Akira since until she doesn't make him say her name, Haruto has strangely adapted to calling her 'young lady' all the time.

Akira continued to apply medicine over his chest but her attention naturally was drawn to his words.

"T-that day...you remember when I confessed to you and got rejected...."

Akira was seriously now doubting whether Haruto was half drunk or something to dig out the things from the past.

But being intently gazed at him, Akira was not left with any other option rather than to reply to him with a soft hum.

However, his following words did not let Akira remain so causal about the matter anymore.

"It w-was not the r-rejection which made me start r-rumors about you rather jealousy..."

"Heh?"

Akira snatched her gaze immediately back to his as she asked in a weird voice about what she just heard.

All these years Akira had thought that why Haruto began to ploy against her was because she didn't accept his proposal since the events transpired connectively.

But...

"Jealous....of whom?"

Her usual calm and teasing facade was nowhere around as Akira asked in a tone of urgency like Haruto might fade any moment.

Haruto sighed, in defeat. He wanted to say this to her since the time he reunited with Akira but not under these circumstances.

He wanted to apologize but felt like this situation was not idle to present his apology, but now he has no other option.

Straightening his back, he leaned himself onto the bed frame before again taking her hand in his as he spoke out his words truthfully.

"Just after being rejected I saw you with someone the other day. You...you seemed happy with him. Unlike how you look in front of others, I felt I saw the real Akira that day. Your smile and your flustered attitude made me...feel jealous that I was not the man who brought out the real Akira but someone else. And that led me to do such awful things with Akira..."

Akira was utterly speechless hearing his words which might not be untrue but she couldn't believe entirely what she heard either.

Someone made her smile and flustered...another guy...Wait!

"Yeah. It was your uncle whom I saw that day, Akira."

He verbally confirmed what Akira just landed upon as a conclusion. Honestly, hearing his confession regarding why Haruto took such a step in the past, called for a hearty laugh.

He actually misjudged her uncle as a...really it was laughable.

But Akira could not laugh at it, at all. No, she was crying. Her heart was bleeding at it and the burn of such pain was making her eyes wet. Her vision soon blurred and before Akira could have stopped herself, she found tears rolling down her cheeks and falling on their connected hands.

"What I did...is not something I could ask forgiveness for. And I am happy that you rejected me that day...since I never deserved you, Akira."

All those tears she has been shedding not just now but in the past as well. The days she should have spent normally as everyone else but all she did was to stare at nothingness in depression. The darkness he brought into her life. The trauma she could never recover from. The sadness and a sense to not continue with her life anymore, he bestowed upon it all.

Just because he was...jealous.

Neither Akida replied nor Haruto said another word. He just held her hand and let her weep all her grief in silence.

Now that she knows why he did such an awful thing to her, Haruto knew his life in the mansion would come to an end.

He was sad since even briefly he had made a good connection with his fellow servants and had built a good relationship with Minami. Not to talk about that he was able to see Akira daily despite the gap between them being so big that he could have never dreamt of reaching her.

But now when he would leave his job and get away from her once again, this time on his own accord, Haruto knew the weight on his shoulder would be lighter than the last time.

'I hope you live great life from hereon, Akira...'
