Chapter 46 - Another Punishment (1)
Listening to Zang Ya’s answer, Zang Ke felt mixed emotions in his heart, as if a condiment bottle had been knocked over. He thought that this answer was both expected and unexpected.
Zang Ke looked at Zang Ya with a complicated expression and finally sighed, “I thought you would at least like him a little bit. After all, you have never been so close to anyone before.”
Zang Ya raised his head and looked at Zang Ke, stared at him for a long time, and then said, “Just like you liked mother?”
Zang Ke was stunned for a moment, then smiled and looked at the expressionless Zang Ya, saying, “You’re right, it’s better not to like him like I am to your mother. Just let him be your pet. In the future, if you want, let him give you a few children, and you can protect him well.”
Zang Ya frowned upon hearing this, clearly not agreeing with this opinion.
When Zang Ke saw this, he did not continue. He simply put away the smile on his face, looked at his son, and continued, “It’s just that this time, whether it’s with the You family or the Song family, you’ve already put them on the fire, and I’m afraid the relationship between the two families will worsen in the future.”
Zang Ya’s face remained expressionless, but there was a trace of disdain in his eyes. Clearly, he did not care about the consequences.
Zang Ke looked at him and said bluntly, “Your mother is also sick because of this matter. I told you, no matter what you want to do, you can’t go against your mother, let alone upset her like this.”
Zang Ke loved his son, but what he loved most was his wife, Mrs. You.
Zang Ya didn’t defend himself, he simply said, “I know I was wrong.”
Zang Ke looked at his son and continued, “In that case, go and accept your punishment. After thirty strokes, go to the ancestral hall and kneel for fifteen days.”
Zang Ya saluted Zang Ke. There was no grievance, anger, or unwillingness on his face. He just accepted it calmly, “Yes.”
“Get out!”
Watching Zang Ya leave, Zang Ke covered his mouth and coughed twice, then spread out his palm, which was stained with traces of blood.
“Prepare something, I want to take a bath.”
“Yes.” The person hidden in the shadows responded and left to fulfil the order.
He had to clean up before seeing his wife; otherwise, if he went to her bed like this, she would definitely be even angrier.
Now, he saw his wife less often and was less close to her. After so many days apart, he missed her terribly.
Zang Ke thought this as he casually wiped the blood from his hands, threw away the used towel, and then strode toward the bathroom.
.
Ever since Zang Ya left, An Yun hadn’t felt at ease and couldn’t even nap.
After tossing and turning in bed for a long time, An Yun finally fell asleep for a while.
When An Yun woke up again, he realized Zang Ya still hadn’t returned, and he couldn’t help but feel a growing sense of unease.
After dressing, An Yun first asked the maid to confirm that Zang Ya indeed hadn’t come back. Then, he went to ask Qing Yue and discovered that Qing Yue hadn’t returned either.
An Yun’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately asked someone to find out what was going on and where Zang Ya was now.
The maid ran out, and in less than a moment, she sent a message back to An Yun, saying that after Zang Ya went to Zang Ke’s place, he went to the execution hall to receive the punishment and was now kneeling in the ancestral hall.
“What?!”
This was completely different from what An Yun had imagined, and he couldn’t understand why. The last time Mrs. You summoned Zang Ya, it was clear that Zang Ya had endured a terrible ordeal.
But this time, Zang Ke had returned. As Zang Ya’s father, not only did he fail to bring justice to Zang Ya, but he also punished him. An Yun couldn’t comprehend it.
Over the past few days, An Yun had developed fond feeling for Zang Ya. When he heard this, he panicked for a moment and then said, “Where is the ancestral hall? I want to go and have a look.”
Knowing his own status, An Yun couldn’t go to Zang Ke to plead for mercy. If he tried, he might not even get a chance to meet him, so he thought it better to go directly to the ancestral hall and see if there was anything he could do to help.
Upon hearing his words, the maids immediately started moving, preparing for his request.
“By the way, bring the medicine that Zang Ya and I used when we were injured last time. It’s good stuff. Bring it all.”
“Yes.”
After working diligently for a quarter of an hour, An Yun finally packed everything he thought he might need and hurriedly followed the maids toward the ancestral hall.
When they arrived at the entrance of the ancestral hall, An Yun saw two tall guards standing at a distance. They were dressed neatly and emanated an aura of danger.
An Yun felt a bit intimidated. He had never encountered such imposing figures before, but remembering his purpose, he took a deep breath and put on a friendly smile.
“Excuse me for disturbing you two. May I ask if the young master is inside? I heard the young master was injured, and I want to check on him. Could you allow me inside?”
Beauty always received special treatment, and An Yun, being gentle and strikingly gorgeous, was no exception.
The moment An Yun appeared, the guards’ eyes were drawn to him. Listening to his soft, courteous words, they found the shuanger before them not only good-looking but also incredibly graceful.
One of the guards saluted An Yun and said, “It’s no trouble, An Fulang. If you wish to enter, you may certainly do so.”
With that, the two guards made an inviting gesture, respectfully allowing An Yun inside.
An Yun found their behaviour somewhat odd. His hand, which had been reaching into his sleeve to retrieve money for a potential bribe, froze for a moment as he hesitantly walked inside.
“Thank you!”
An Yun smiled at them and led his people further in.
