Allen the Reincarnated Merchant: A Plan to Get Rich in Another World

Chapter 80

The brigade’s welcome party came to a successful conclusion.

However, what I hadn’t anticipated was that the dessert I served toward the end of the event garnered a greater reaction than the premium Wagyu beef I had brought as the main course. The members, who had been enjoying the dinner with elegance, suddenly found themselves in a minor dispute over the remaining few desserts, competing fiercely for ownership.

As expected from an all-female adventurer team, many of them had an exceptional fondness for sweets. Whether in Japan or the world of Asphial, the stereotype of women being particular about sweets seemed to hold true in both worlds.

“Hey, Eurua, can you use healing magic?”
“Healing magic? You mean like that?”

After the meal wrapped up and with the trading card business plans somewhat solidified, I decided to take a break—a vacation of sorts. The main reason was Sena, the new member who had joined as administrative support. While I couldn’t completely offload all the work to a newcomer right away, with Saioji’s help, we were able to get things running smoothly. For the first time since arriving in the royal capital, I was able to take a proper day off.

“I can’t use healing magic, but Lady Aria can.”
“Really? Aria, do you have a minute?”

With not much else to do, I casually asked Eurua, who was well-versed in magic, about healing spells. The little I knew was that healers were even rarer than regular mages. While people rich in magical energy were already scarce, mages made up about one in a hundred. But if you narrowed it down to proficient mages, that number dropped significantly.

I’d estimate that only about one in five hundred could become fully-fledged mages. And healers? Their numbers were shockingly small, perhaps one in several thousand. They could heal serious injuries that would normally require purple or higher-level blue potions, which is why healers were often treated on par with nobles, a testament to the rarity and power of their abilities.

“Yeah? What’s up?”
“I just wanted to ask about healing magic.”

There’s a rumor that the Hama Polytheism, the national religion of the Cainlease Kingdom, wields significant power due to monopolizing both healing magic and medical knowledge. While it sounds far-fetched, considering that many healers are affiliated with Hama Polytheism, it’s not entirely baseless.

With that in mind, I decided to ask Aria, who supposedly could use healing magic, for more details. Lately, she’d been obsessed with Cross World, a trading card game, and even now, she was deeply immersed, laying out cards on the living room table, analyzing her deck.

Even her servant, Eurua, had been drawn into the game recently. And since I’ve found more free time lately, I suspect it won’t be long before I’m invited to join as well.

Aria, with her shimmering blonde hair that flowed like the aurora, radiated magic power, giving her an ethereal presence. Her personality, however, was much more approachable than her appearance suggested.

I felt a bit guilty for interrupting her focus on deck-building, but she didn’t seem to mind. She walked over to the sofa where Eurua and I were sitting, casually seating herself so we could all easily face each other.

She propped her chin on her hands, resting her elbows on the table, while Eurua naturally started combing through her hair with her fingers.

“Healing magic? Sure, no problem.”
“Great, can you show me?”

Without hesitation, Aria gently grabbed Eurua’s hand, which had been brushing her hair, and stared at it intently.

“Umm… Lady Aria, is there something wrong with my hand?”
“Hmm, I’ll heal your chapped fingers.”

Ignoring Eurua’s nervousness, Aria declared she would heal the chapped skin on her fingers.

“Come to think of it, I’ve been asking you to handle all the water cleaning, haven’t I? That’s probably why your hands are getting rough. You could’ve told me, I would’ve given you some lotion.”
“No, no, it’s really not that bad…”

Like Aria, I looked closer at Eurua’s hands and saw that, indeed, her fingertips and joints were slightly red and dry. Normally, using precious healing magic on something like chapped skin would be out of the question, but since we were just testing it out, I asked her to go ahead.

“Alright, here goes.”

With a brief phrase, Aria gently sandwiched Eurua’s hands between hers.

『ᑕᕐᓂ, ᒪᒥᓴᕈᒪᕙᕋ ᑖᓐᓇ ᐃᓄᒃ』
“Huh?”

As Aria spoke those unfamiliar words, a soft, jade-green light glowed from her hands, gently wrapping around Eurua’s hands like a veil. I was so caught off guard by the strange language that I let out an involuntary gasp. In the blink of an eye, the jade light faded, and the chapped skin on Eurua’s fingers had vanished completely.
