Chapter 98 Leveled to the Ground? Confrontation! Terror at Every Step! Traps Everywhere!
“Damn, this is…” Wu Yaoming, standing outside the factory, watched another program officer fall victim to a trap. His body slightly trembled, and his eyes filled with a fiery rage. He couldn’t contain his furious roar, “Damn it, Wang Yun has set up so many traps here. I have to take him down!”
Nearby, Jiang Youshan, Wang Yue, Wu Mingyu, Kolyev, and Ying Yuezi, the other chief inspectors, stood with grim expressions. Witnessing yet another officer fall. Their bodies quivered intensely, and their breathing became noticeably rapid.
They had never anticipated such a turn of events.
“This is retaliation, Wang Yun’s revenge. That driver wasn’t our bait but his. He knew we would definitely target the young driver, hence he prepared this trap, waiting for us to come after him,” Wang Yue said, her face showing distress. “Another possibility is that he prepared for both scenarios. A counterattack if we came, and success regardless if we didn’t. But I’m more inclined toward the former. He’s a madman.”
“We thought we were the hunters, but it turns out he’s the real predator. Wang Yun is hunting us, seeking vengeance. I just didn’t imagine he could be so wildly insane,” Wu Mingyu’s pupils were throbbing intensely. “They’ve deliberately put themselves in jeopardy for a direct confrontation with us, a true face-off.”
Yes, now they were in the midst of a close-range conflict, a genuine collision.
“What should we do now?”
Wu Yaoming’s expression fluctuated, reluctant to make a decision alone. The recent losses were devastating. ‘Casualties’ had already reached over twenty. They had brought more than three hundred program officers to encircle six ‘fugitives’, but before even encountering the ‘fugitives,’ they had lost over twenty officers. The cost was unbearable.
To him, this small factory, especially its second floor, now seemed like a horrific hell. Stepping inside was tantamount to death.
“They must have set up numerous traps on the second floor, waiting for us,” Jiang Youshan said, pulling out a cigarette and taking deep drags, his eyes squinting coldly. “Have the officers on the second floor retreat to the first, then evacuate all wounded and dead from the factory.”
His suggestion momentarily surprised Wang Yue, Ying Yuezi, Wu Mingyu, and the other captains.
“Once everyone has evacuated, prepare a sufficient amount of grenades and blow up the entire factory,” Jiang Youshan continued, his voice emotionless yet filled with a chilling resolve. “Demolish it completely, turn this place into rubble.”
“Right, there’s no point in continuing this game of traps with Wang Yun. Evacuate all officers, then level this place,” Kolyev added, his face bearing a trace of killing intent.
Cut the Gordian knot. Overpower with overwhelming force.
“He wanted to trap us inside, right? He wanted a game of wits and bravery? Fine, we’ll respond with bombing. All in!”
Wu Yaoming, listening to Jiang Youshan and Kolyev, narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.
***
“Wow, really? Is this the strategy of Captains Jiang Youshan and Kolyev?”
“Demolish the place, flatten it to the ground? These two captains are incredibly bold!”
“Amazing, 666! What can I say? This is brilliant! No matter what traps are inside, they plan to just level the entire place!”
“This method is overpowering. I have to say, Captains Jiang Youshan and Kolyev are ruthlessly effective. With this tactic, Hu and his crew inside the factory are done for!”
“The perfect strategy to break the game. You want to play a deadly game? Well, I’m going to destroy your game entirely.”
In the livestream, everyone hearing Captains Jiang Youshan and Kolyev’s plan was visibly shocked. Their approach was forceful and seemed to be an effective solution. Flatten everything!
“Excellent,” Wu Yaoming nodded emphatically and spoke into the communicator, “All program officers on the second floor, retreat to the first floor immediately and evacuate the building. Those on the first floor, secure all rooms. Once everyone from the second floor is out, evacuate the factory, secure the entrance, and then raze it to the ground.”
His command was almost a roar. With so many program officers ‘sacrificed’, he was determined to make Wang Yun and his group pay a severe price.
“Yes,” all the program officers, upon hearing the command, focused intently. Those on the second floor of the factory, receiving the order, also breathed a sigh of relief.
In their eyes, the corridor, lined with dozens of rooms and stretching just over a hundred meters, resembled the dreadful entrance to hell. Every step seemed to risk plummeting them into its depths. The atmosphere was filled with terror and anxiety.
“Retreat,” On the second floor, a squad leader gestured for withdrawal.
Fifty to sixty program officers acknowledged with nods and slowly began retreating toward the staircase.
“Hey, this is almost exactly as Big Brother predicted. His foresight is uncanny. Haha, thinking it’s that easy to leave? Not so fast.”
Meanwhile, in a room, Brother Hu lay on the floor, watching the retreating officers on his phone, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Yesterday, Wang Yun and his crew had spent six hours setting up in this area. At that time, they had installed a plethora of things, including surveillance equipment. With Wang Yun’s exceptional skills in magic and god-level trapping, the presence of cameras went unnoticed by the infiltrating officers.
Brother Hu, lying there, observed the scene on his phone. In front of him was a submachine gun aimed at the wall. This wall had a long crack, through which he could view the adjacent room. The next room’s wall had a similar crack, offering a view into a further room. Ahead of this room was another crack, significantly larger, about a meter in size. Oddly, this crack seemed to be covered, concealed with a special paper from the outside.

Near the staircase, the program officers began to descend one after the other, desperate to escape this hell brimming with danger. However, suddenly…
“Ratatatat!”
As several officers were proceeding down the stairs, gunfire from a submachine gun suddenly erupted. Following this, red dots rapidly appeared on several officers standing on the staircase. Approximately seven or eight officers were covered by these red dots.
“Damn it, come back up, quickly!” the squad leader, witnessing bullets flying out from within the walls, shouted in alarm, his face contorting with fear.
The eight officers who were struck looked dazed, their gazes fixed on the wall ahead, now riddled with bullet holes. It wasn’t a wall at all, but merely paper. It was another trap. With a sense of despair, they looked at their colleagues and helplessly fell to the ground. Engulfed by a barrage of bullets, none of them survived. All eight officers were ‘eliminated’.
The remaining officers, witnessing the fate of their fallen companions, trembled, their eyes reddening with emotion.
However, as their attention was drawn away and they were momentarily stunned, two figures suddenly charged out from a room, firing toward them.
“Roar!”
“Wow!”
The two figures quickly emerged from the room, letting out bizarre shouts, then dashed into another room. They fired six shots, hitting three officers. The faces of the three struck officers turned ashen.
“Our every action seems to be within their control,” a ‘shot’ program officer exclaimed, his face etched with terror. A cold dread filled his heart as he collapsed to the ground. Three more officers were ‘killed’.
“To hell with this!”
An officer, shaken by what he saw, stared into the room in horror and fired relentlessly. The remaining officers quickly aimed their guns, faces marked by discomfort, vigilantly guarding the front.
“Do you really think you can enter and exit our Death Factory as you please?” a voice echoed from inside, reaching everyone’s ears. This caused all the officers to clench their fists tightly, seething with rage. Despite outnumbering the enemy–sixty to six–they felt utterly powerless, fueling their frustration and fear.
“This has to be Wang Yun’s handiwork. He’s… terrifying,” one officer commented, his face turning ghostly pale.

“Damn it all!”
Meanwhile, outside the factory, Wu Yaoming, witnessing this scene, couldn’t help but erupt in a stream of curses.
He seemed like he was about to explode with a mix of anger, frustration, and horror. Wang Yun had laid preparations at the staircase to the second floor. When the officers first arrived, Wang Yun and his team could have struck, but they chose not to. Clearly, they intended to trap them on the second floor, as if to say, “Surrender, your group of sixty is now encircled by just a few of us.”
Indeed, a few had managed to surround fifty to sixty officers. But now, with eleven ‘deaths’, their numbers had dwindled to less than fifty. In a brief time, their program inspection team had suffered the loss of over thirty people.
“Damn it, keep calm, we need to stay calm at this critical moment,” Jiang Youshan couldn’t help but curse, pacing back and forth with a cigarette in his hand, a sheen of cold sweat forming on his forehead due to the urgency.
“We can’t let them stay on the second floor of the factory any longer. It’s too risky. They should jump out of the factory windows directly,” Wu Mingyu, alarmed and concerned by what he saw on the screen, advised urgently.
They had never anticipated being so cornered, driven to such an extremity by Wang Yun and his team. That factory was essentially a hell. Staying even a moment longer was perilous. One could hardly imagine the next wave of horrors that awaited, the new terror that was yet to unfold.
Note: Gordian knot is a legend associated with Alexander the Great. It’s often used as a metaphor for an unmanageable problem, solved by a unconventional solution.
