Preparation for the Vulture
Peter let out a yelp as he was sent flying, his back slamming heavily into a wall before he slid down.
"End simulation", Jeff's words caused Peter to let out a heavy sigh of relief. His instincts when he laid eyes on Jeff's grin proved to be right, Batman truly was terrifying. "Are you okay peter?" Jeff questioned taking of the glove and stretching out his hand to help Peter up.
"Yeah I'm okay" Peter spoke up as he took Jeff's hand and returned to his feet, his eyes first scanned his surroundings observing the buildings which had appeared out of nothing, return to nothing. His gaze eventually locked on to the gloves Batman had used to inflict damage upon his person.
Each punch felt like a train had run him over, "So why do you have those?" Peter asked unable to hold back his curiosity any longer. To his question Jeff let out a chuckle, "I'm on a team with the likes of the Hulk and Thor. Fighting against enemies that require a team of those people and even more, it would be more surprising if a guy like me didn't have these".
"Right" Peter let out a sheepish chuckle, in the battle session that had just occurred he had honestly forgot the man before him didn't have any powers, heck those rumors that were popular flashed in his mind and he was tempted to ask in Jeff was a vampire.
"With the training we were able to see what you need to focus on right now", "my fighting style" Peter perked up with his mind racing with images of Kate and Jeff's fighting style, as he said so. He couldn't help but imagine himself in the streets with those skills going up against the likes of Rhino and Abomination.
"No" Jeff's words brought an end to Peter's day dreams. Kate could not help herself, as she broke out laughing at Peter's downcast expression.
"Yes your fighting style could use some work but with your innate strength, speed and agility, that isn't a priority." Jeff returned the gloves before turning to Peter, whilst tapping his head. "Your spidey sense"
"Right"
"You underestimate the value of this ability you have. The ability to sense danger is a great boon but it can also be a burden if you don't master it properly." Jeff's words caused Peter to rub his aw as he recalled the punch to his jaw amidst the explosions, with all the random explosions happening around him he had been blind to Jeff's attack until it made contact.
"You have to master it properly or else you will be blind in a battle, In a battle against your peers or people stronger than you. Those senses of yours will be ringing non stop, you need to filter through which attacks you have to ay attention to, which to block and which to defend."
"Once you are able to do that, trust me, you'll experience a large boost in your combat ability"
Peter gave an enthusiastic nod to Jeff as he reflected on Jeff's words, "Now Sebas, sorry to keep you waiting, how was your meeting?" Jeff turned to Sebastian who had arrived and was patiently observing.
"Fruitful sir, The Vulture is apparently planning some sort of going away sale set for a few nights from now." Sebastian approached Jeff before pulling out a note from his pocket and handing it over to Jeff, "The event is apparently invite only".
"We are the Bats, when did that ever stop us" Kate leaned forward looking down at them with a playful smirk. Jeff looked up from his note giving Kate a sir in return, "However considering the nature of the Vulture's trade, just us two will not be enough"
"Should I send message to mistress Yelena and young mater Harry?" Sebastian asked Jeff who shook his head, "No, we don't need everyone. And its good to let them continue with their patrols, Kate go get Gwen." Jeff turned to his cousin at the last bit before turning to Peter "and you come along".
Confused Peter followed after Jeff who led him off to the side, tapping on the side of a wall. A part of the wall moved aside allowing for a mannequin to be revealed, once Peter laid eyes on the mannequin he shifted his eyes to Batman before refocusing on the suit on the mannequin, which had a spider symbol on its chest.
"I thought you could use an upgrade" Jeff spoke up confirming the thoughts that had formed in peter's minds. At Jeff's confirmation Peter immediately gave him a hug, "thank you, thank you so so much. I love it".
Jeff simply blinked at Peter who released him and moved to focus on the suit.
Jeff had made its design similar to the first suit Tony had given Peter, It wasn't the same of course as he wasn't Tony. With the tech, materials and experience he had however, Jeff liked to believe his version didn't fall behind Tony's version at all.
With everything now in place, Jeff was prepared to clip the Vulture's wing.
