Beyond the Bloodline

Chapter 36- Vorpal Desolation

As for the physical force behind the punch, it was more than enough to send the monster flying through the air as a streak of light that shot straight towards one of the Legendary Realm monsters battling the white-haired beast woman Jamie met earlier and two other Legendries.

Glox who came from above, was initially wary of the same field being deployed to counter him, but when he did not sense anything, he increased his speed and struck out his fist towards Jamie’s head.

The Hybrid warped out of the way and reappeared behind Glox, holding up his palms and generating a small metre-wide wormhole in front of him.

“Here, have this back!”

A familiar dark green beam of concentrated light was unleashed from within, surging towards the winged monster who only grinned as he prepared to break through the attack to strike Jamie.

However, at the last moment, his grin changed into an expression of shock and he quickly threw his body out of the way, barely in time to evade the beam that shot towards Hecragar who was behind him.

**BOOOMM!!!!

{This…}

He held a palm up to his forehead and rubbed it, bringing it down to his eye level and looking at the blood and skull fragments on it.

{How…?}

“Seeing how confident you are, I can guess you have Self-power immunity.

But the moment that bean entered the wormhole, it had become ‘my’ power, not ‘yours’ anymore.”

**WHOOSH!!!

Just as Jamie finished speaking, Hecragar’s massive form flashed in behind him and the giant’s two upper arms struck towards him, intending to crush the silver-haired man in between them.

But Jamie held out his hands and generated two cutting fields on both sides, primed to slice and dice the giant’s arms.

 Unfortunately, that was not what happened.

The giant’s fist collided with the cutting field and was assaulted by the spatial slashes, however, the dark red glyphs on his arms glowed brighter and strengthened his defensive power, enabling him to only suffer minor cuts from the assault.

‘His universal law energy purity has increased…’

Jamie thought that as the giant formed a knife hand coated in molten metal and slashed down towards him, a slash he looked up at and shook his head while saying one word.

“Nope!”

**SWOOSH ***BOOOMM!!!

Teleporting away at the last moment, he avoided the slash that slammed onto the ground, rending the earth.

The Hybrid quickly retaliated, coating his arm in spatial power and swinging it down, projecting a double-layered slash towards the giant’s head, but Hecragar twisted his body and avoided the full brunt of it, only having his left ear carved out.

“Huh? I missed? Would not happen a second time though.”

He formed a finger gun with his hand and condensed his blue aura into it, adding wisps of spatial and destruction law energy into it, and within seconds, it was a blast of purple energy shooting through the air with a course set for the giant’s head.

This energy blast possessed a dual nature, containing both the power to rend the fabric of space and the capacity to dismantle matter on a fundamental level.

Spatial distortions rippled along its flight path, creating a visible disruption in the air while the giant infused his metal universal law energy into his upper right fist and punched forward with all his strength behind it.

As his fist moved, a rapid metamorphosis occurred, with the universal law energy transforming his entire fist and giving it a resilient and intricate lattice structure, capable of dispersing other law energies across its network.

The collision between the giant’s fist and Jamie’s energy blast triggered a localized explosion of universal law forces, the impacting energies generating a miniature singularity that briefly warped the surrounding area.

All the other Legendries in the distance, including the ones heading towards Jamie’s location all felt chills down their spines as they sensed the fluctuations of the two attacks, their instincts screaming at them not to dare interfere in this battle.

It could not be helped, as the giant Hecragar and the winged humanoid Glox that Jamie was fighting were the two strongest of the monsters, and then Jamie himself was an Irregular nonstandard existence, no way any normal people could interfere with their battle, no matter how simple it looked.

The onslaught of spatial distortions and destructive disintegration tried to obliterate the giant’s fist, but his own universal law energy threads interacted with the destructive forces, distorting the energy's trajectory and neutralizing its potency.

But this also neutralized the energy of the giant’s attack, leaving behind a faint echo of their momentary struggle in the form of depleted space.

“This is getting interesting...”

While Jamie was smiling amusedly, Hecragar was sweating intensely as his unique skill was guzzling his energy down by the second, leaving him limited time to inflict fatal damage on Jamie.

“Metal Torrent.”

He sent forth a torrent of razor-sharp metallic shards from the ground, weaving through the air with incredible speed and accuracy and cutting through all the obstacles in their path to Jamie.

But the Hybrid simply ignited the surroundings with azure flames and created an inferno that melted the metal shards before they could reach him.

Hecragar flowed up with a double punch from his two right arms, which Jamie retaliated with double-layered projected spatial energy slashes.

Pulling back his arms to dodge the two slashes with a paper-thin margin, the giant struck forward with the other two arms, however, Jamie stretched out his palm and sent out a wave of spatial energy, expanding the space between him and the giant and giving the monster a couple of thousand metres more distance to cross.

{Vorpal Desolation.}

Glox came in with a negative life energy technique, unleashing a torrent of dark green energy that withered and decayed everything it touched.

It formed into tendrils of darkness that lashed out towards Jamie with the intention to sap the abundant life force he had, but the Hybrid’s pupils darted towards the side at the last moment, his lips parting to voice out one word.

“Burn.”

**BOOMM!!

The air around Jamie ignited, creating a searing heat that engulfed the area in a brilliant blue inferno, consuming the dark green law energies with overwilling heat and destruction.

‘His normal flames burnt through my law energy-infused attack?! No…those flames have always had the energy of the law of fire in them from the start!’

Glox figured out the true reason why Jamie’s flames were so deadly, but he did not have time to do anything with that information as the Hybrid came barrelling out of the inferno with blue energy condensing around his fists.

‘A punch? Elemental Ward: Flame. Greater Flame Resistance. Anti-Flame!’

He quickly cast three flame resistance spells upon judging that his movements would not be fast enough to escape the blue flames.

However, he made a deadly mistake.

Sure, the thing in Jamie’s hands was definitely blue.

**BZZZTTT!!

But it wasn’t fire.
