Beyond the Bloodline

Chapter 51-Intermediate Legendary

Jamie ignored the skill popups in his vision, instead focusing on controlling the swirling tempest of raw energy surrounding him.

The man had deeper energy reserves than normal, and this made him need far more energy when increasing his Existence Realm, either by a stage or a full realm.

But this came with the perks of quantitative and qualitative increases each time they went up.

This was part of the reason for Jamie’s ‘Nonstandard’ status, and why he could easily trump those in his realm with ease.

Coming back to the current situation, the surging energy coursed through his energy circuits and tore down the barriers of the intermediate stage, with the surge continuing forward to the Superior Stage’s barriers.

In a minute, Jamie went from the peak of the Inferior Stage to the peak of the Intermediate, and yet he had not reached the limit of what he could absorb yet.

He spread the energy evenly amongst his three major existential aspects, making sure that they were all evenly balanced.

With the rest of the energy, he then directed it towards his soul, not to increase its stage but to awaken something within it that was dormant due to his fragmented power state.

The energy of the law of knowledge resonated with it, and a grey orb of law energy came alive in his soul, lighting up halfway and stopping for two reasons.

First was that Jamie had reached the maximum amount of energy he could absorb from the orb in one go, and secondly, to awaken that ‘grey orb’ fully, he needed to be at least a transcendent.

Even so, this was enough for what he wanted to do.

[“Knowledge Origin Core…GET!”]

Jamie made a peace sign as he spoke with a grin on his face, before bursting into a peal of laughter while holding his stomach.

If you were wondering if Jamie had gone crazy, he had not; he was only laughing at a certain planet’s incarnation who was gritting her teeth in annoyance at the fact that Jamie had now acquired the means to peruse her Records, something she had laughed at him for even thinking about.

|Pseudo Authority Detected!!|

|Law Comprehensions Detected|

|Accessing Existential Records to ascertain Law Comprehension Level|

[“Denied”]

Jamie stopped his laughter and spoke up with a cold voice that echoed across the hall, shutting off the energy of the system that was trying to parse through his soul.

|Error…Not Found. |

**BZZTT!!!!

|Authority Detected: Existence Realm Negative Matchup. |

|Summoning Causality|

[“Tsk…”]

The Hybrid clicked his tongue lightly as it seemed that despite his refusal, the system had managed to glimpse a few of his existential records and find data about something that came with his full-powered state.

Thus, it tried to call forth the Rule Enforcing Law of the universe, the law of Causality to scan Jamie’s entire being to see if he had the right to dare to possess such a thing.

[“I can use this to test!”]

His face lit up as he turned towards the small spatial tear that had formed behind him, where the golden chains of the law of causality slowly snaked out.

He held up his hand and roused the energy of the law of knowledge, but before he could do anything, a diaphanous board appeared in his field of vision.

| High-Grade Singularity Status Detected.

Causality Audit Cancelled.|

The golden chains quickly retracted into the spatial rift, with the rift closing up right after and leaving Jamie in silence as he had his hand held up.

[“Oh, that’s right. I am a Singularity.

A bug in the universe.”]

The man sighed and calmed his energy flow, before checking out his realm with a smile on his face.

“Peak Intermediate Legendary, good enough for now.

As time passes, I’d continue absorbing the energy in this orb. Should be enough to last me a while.”

Saying that to himself, he let his body fall backwards, but instead of hitting the ground, he phased through it seamlessly, falling out of the pocket dimension.

◇ ◇ ◇

Ten minutes had passed after Jamie disappeared into the pillar of energy, and the Vampire quintet were still on the ground, protected by his energy while conversing amongst themselves.

“Hey, let’s make bets on how long it’d take Lord Jamie to come back.”

“If you’re that bored, you could at least play a game on your phone, you know?”

Davina quipped in after her brother spoke, gazing at him blankly when he started bugging Nelo and Jorin to join in on his betting.

But they did not even get the chance to reject him when Jamie’s body came falling out of the pillar of energy in the sky.

Just when they thought the Hybrid was going to crash onto the ground, he suddenly flipped mid-air and landed on his two feet, dusting his clothes lightly while the suit jacket and accessories with Davina slowly floated back to him.

He then walked up to the space patch he had ripped open earlier and stuck his hand into it, looking for any other things he may have tossed inside years ago.

The first thing he pulled out was a sword, one that exuded a palpable aura that made the inferior stage Sovereigns present sweat.

“To think I had a Legendary Grade weapon here…Nice.”

He tossed it into his subspace before pulling out a few more things, each one releasing energy readings that left jaws agape.

“Useless, Useless, Useless…Oh, this is nice. Oh, this is equally useless.”

The man sorted through his items, even pulling out a full three-piece suit and some other corporate clothes, a briefcase full of concealing weapons and many more strange stuff.

When he was done, he closed up the patch in space and deactivated the magic formation on the ground, causing the pillars of energy to swirl out of existence as the accumulated energy melded back into the surroundings.

Jamie then turned towards a certain direction, his eyebrows raising as he saw something that caught his attention and flew in that direction.

Left behind was Wanete who had just appraised the Hybrid and was noting the new differences in his status.

‘A lot of things are still missing as always…’

Just as she thought that, her ears caught onto the mutter of one of the Sovereigns.

“Just how strong is he…my appraisal just shows ‘Error’.”

‘Huh?’

The young lady gave the man a confused gaze, turning her attention back to Jamie and appraising him successfully once more.

‘What does he mean appraisal shows Error?

…Could it be, he’s blocking appraisals by some means…and is simply ‘allowing’ me to appraise him?’

Her quick mind deduced the reason why she could still see Jamie’s status while the Sovereign who was more powerful than her could not.

*BUZZ!!

Her tab’s vibration snapped her back to reality and she quickly slid her hand across it, accepting the incoming call from the line the ‘Higher Ups’ used to contact her.

She was a bit shocked it was her father who was speaking, but she quickly recomposed herself and listened attentively.

Then again, that didn’t help as the content of the message she was to pass on to Jamie, as well as who the message was from left her dumbstruck.

“…Lord Jamie…”

“Whatsup?”

“The thing is…”

She narrated everything to him and the Hybrid nodded in understanding, a nostalgic smile gracing his face as he remembered the days when the Vampire King Vespera was but a small boy.

“How time flies, to think that little boy is a Vampire King already.”

Right after his little reminiscence, he then turned to the Vampire Quintet and spoke.

“Okay, so my trip to Estudiam is not something too serious and there’s no need for you all to come along.

Besides, I trust you have other things to do.”

He looked at Nelo as he spoke while the young Vampire turned away with light embarrassment.

“If you want to come along, feel free to. But it’s probably gonna be boring for you all.”

The moment he was done speaking, David raised his hand like a student who wanted to answer a question while jumping lightly.

“I wanna come along!”

Davina gazed at him with half-lidded eyes, studying his state and using her years of experience to find out that he was clearly not gonna change his mind before sighing.

“If this idiot’s coming along, I’m coming with him.”

“Good for you two, I’m taking my leave here.”

Jorin raised his hands in mock surrender while stepping back, while Nelo folded his arms and nodded right after.

“Same with me.”

With two going and two staying, they all turned their gazes to Wanete who was busy writing something on her tab.

“It’d be nice to have you along, Wanete.”

David looked at his sister with half-lidded eyes, just as she had done to him earlier and from his years of experience, he deduced the real meaning behind her words.

“Translation: Come over so you can handle corresponding with the Higher Ups, Dealing with them is stressful and I don’t l-Guh!”

Davina elbowed her brother mid-speech, but the damage had already been done and Wanete was now looking at the female twin with a blank gaze which Davina avoided by looking away in silence.

She only heaved a light sigh before making her intention to come along known, while Jamie laughed at the twins’ interactions with each other.

‘Come to think of it, I wonder how my younger siblings are. I didn’t see them last time I was awake.

When I go over to Cassarean in the Werewolf Continent, I’d call them over.’

With the Vampire Quintet that had now become a Trio, Jamie then proceeded to follow the arrangements Wanete’s father had made for him to return to Estudiam, leaving behind the Lorelith Clan’s Sovereigns to explain the situation on the Avalore Mountain to the other powerhouses who came over.

In the end, they blamed everything on the head of the ‘Legendary Hybrid’, which in turn served to spread the news of Jamie’s return to Nightingale.
