Beyond the Bloodline

Chapter 52- Ancient City Estudiam

Ancient City Estudiam

Fransokyo Region

Neutral Continent

January 11th

Year 2018

A man with striking silver hair and piercing blue eyes stood atop a small elevated platform, clad in a sleek turtleneck, its deep navy shade contrasting elegantly with his silver locks.

Over this, he wore a perfectly tailored charcoal grey blazer, exuding an air of sophistication.

Though the cold of Estudiam’s winter nights did not really affect him, he still wore a pair of polished black gloves on his hands, contrasting nicely with the gleaming silver of the cufflinks.

“The City’s governing board has already been informed and all the civilians in the area have been evacuated so there would be no interruptions.”

A young lady with raven black hair and amethyst eyes spoke up as she navigated across the screen of her tab with a stylus.

Immediately, the gates of the compound they were currently in all locked up, with the digital signs on them lighting up and displaying the words ‘Closed for Crimson Court Business’.

“To think that you guys turned where my castle was to a tourist centre…”

The silver-haired man, Jamie, spoke up with a sigh as he remembered the sight of thousands of tourists that he met in the area earlier in the morning.

“It is part of the myths closely related to you. Some say it is the place you transformed into a Hybrid, some say it’s the place where you rallied your armies before moving to conquer other worlds, while others say it’s the place where your home once stood.

With so many stories about this place, it’d be stranger if we didn’t find a way to make money off it.”

Wanete replied curtly as she pulled up the site page for the area on her tab and showed it to Jamie.

“Oh wow, you even have pictures of the Estate from before my Castle disappeared.”

The man scrolled through the pictures of his Blue Moon Castle that was currently under the sea, before inquiring exactly when the Castle had disappeared.

“From the records here, it’s been close to 5000 years.”

“5000? Would I be able to skim that far back into the past?”

The young woman was confused about what Jamie meant by ‘skimming into the past’, but the Hybrid did not offer any further explanations and simply walked forward, past all the other buildings in the area while reminiscing about the time he created them with his own hands.

‘Creation, huh? My power over it was limited as it was not ‘my job’ to create, but it was still handy to have.

The Imperial Privileges I possess as an Envoy of Balance are very useful.’

He thought that as he came to a stop in the centre of the estate, at the spot where his massive Blue Moon Castle once stood.

The energy of the universal law of knowledge began seeping out of his body, and all the Sovereigns and the Transcendent who was governing Estudiam sensed it, their gazes turning in his direction immediately.

Ambient law energies thrummed wildly, creating a whirlwind of grey universal law energy that danced around Jamie, swirling upwards and painting the sky with an otherworldly spectacle.

“Unbelievable…to think my law comprehension increased just by looking at this…”

The Inferior Transcendent spoke with a dumbfounded expression, as he could feel the scrambled information about the universal law of knowledge in his head beginning to make sense in real time.

Jamie did not pay any mind to this, instead reaching into his soul and activating the Pseudo-Authority he gained the day before.

“Wanete. You’re sure it’s 5000 years ago, right?”

“?! Yes…I confirmed it with ‘Clan Head Vespera’.”

Receiving the girl’s confirmation, Jamie took a deep breath and drew in ambient energies of the laws of time and space.

He covered the area with the space laws and infused a bit of the time laws to ‘check’ the past, before finally activating the most crucial piece.

[Pseudo Authority of Knowledge]

The was the ‘right’ to give orders to, control and enforce obedience upon the power of a universal law.

However, as Jamie was currently not above transcendence, he could only use this ‘Pseudo’ version of it, but it was enough for him to parse through the records of the planet.

[Retrocognition.]

The power to perceive the past. That was what Jamie was using right now.

With the powers of the law of knowledge, he was checking the records of the planet, where all past events were stored, using the law of space to restrict the area whose records should be checked, and using the power of time, he selected an exact time period he wanted to check.

He then began skimming through the records for specific details and characteristics, trying to find exactly when his Castle had disappeared.

This went on for close to half an hour, and just when Jamie was reaching his limit after scanning more than a century’s worth of records, he finally found something.

Jamie’s clear blue eyes lit up and he clapped his hands together, drawing in more ambient universal law energy and then slamming them on the floor.

[Re-enact]

His command was given, and the law obeyed.

Right before their very eyes, holographic projections of light began to form, displaying the past of this very estate from 4973 years ago.

Jamie narrowed down things to somewhere around high noon when the sun was at its peak and the Vampires who lived in Fransokyo were hardly outside.

And then, he let the records play.

◇ ◇ ◇

[Seriously, we killed ‘that guy’ tens of millennia ago. To think that his ‘power’ had gained sentience and was planning to become the new ‘him’.]

Hearing that voice filled Jamie with so much nostalgia that he couldn’t help but let his lips curl up into a smile.

And then right after the voice rang out, the projection of its speaker appeared.

It was a beautiful fair-skinned woman, with flowing below waist length purple accented silver hair, that was tied up into a half ponytail with a small purple coloured flower shaped fascinator, a very lithe figure and an above average sized bosom.

She was dressed in a long-sleeved white business shirt, with black trousers and a purple tie with the symbol of a prestigious Werewolf Clan, everyone present recognized on it.

A stylized representation of a Wolf’s head facing the right with a circular emblem adorned in lunar and tribal motifs.

“That’s the ‘Scott’ Clan’s Symbol!!”

David did the honours of announcing which clan it was, but it was the Transcendent’s reaction upon seeing the face of the person wearing this symbol that took the cake.

“That person…! She’s a Race Queen!...No, she’s definitely one of those existences higher than that.

She’s one of the Scott Clan’s ancestors and the most powerful existence to come out of the Clan since its inception hundreds of thousands of years ago.”

The woman in the projection walked up to the Blue Moon Castle, heaving a sigh of light exasperation while muttering something about ‘crazy people being everywhere’.

Taking off the sunshades she was wearing, her striking eyes were revealed for them to see.

A heterochromatic pair consisting of a violet-purple left iris and a clear blue right one, with vertical slit pupils.

Seeing that, the transcendent was now 100% sure of the woman’s identity.

“That’s the ‘Twilight Empress’: Miranda Scott!!”

David, Davina and Wanete all snapped their heads towards Jamie’s direction with surprise colouring their eyes, as if this woman’s name was anything to go by, then she was most definitely a Hybrid like Jamie.

[Seriously, why can’t dead people just stay dead, without leaving any annoying Vestiges to mess with other people.]

As the Miranda in the projection spoke, she held up her hands and slammed her palms together, forming a six-ringed purple-coloured magic circle in between them.

[Be Displaced.]

The instant she spoke, the entire Blue Moon Castle and everything within it disappeared, teleported away to a totally different location.

More specifically, it was the ‘space’ that the Castle occupied that was displaced, hence everything in that space was shifted along with it.

“I taught her that…”

Jamie muttered lightly as he saw the projected version of Miranda break into a smile before holding up a peace sign.

[I can’t wait to show Jamie how good I am with this now.

Maybe I should have just gone in and woken him up myself. My blood does have all the 3 necessary racial factors…]

She held her hand to her chin and sunk into her thoughts, and from the way her expressions were changing, she seemed to be torn between going to wake Jamie up and leaving him where she had sent him.

[No! You can’t Miranda!

‘That guy’ is closing in on Estea. I made sure that Island would cloak the Castle so when his minions come over to scan this planet, they would not detect Jamie.]

Jamie frowned lightly when he heard her words, as it implied that she had changed his location because someone was after him, and had done something to the Brentlet island to cloak his presence there from that someone.
