Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Burning the Castle

After sending Gunnar off, William and the remaining six members searched the camp. Due to the nighttime parachute drop, they only carried light weapons, insufficient firepower for their mission. Fortunately, Caesar found two PKM general-purpose machine guns, easing their worries. With these machine guns, their ambush plan could be better executed.

Carrying all the found ammunition and drum magazines, they loaded the machine guns onto a military truck and, using night vision, drove toward the island leader's castle under the cover of darkness.

Using the Black Blade drone for reconnaissance, they avoided checkpoints and parked the truck about a kilometer from the castle, hiding it in the woods. After checking their gear, Caesar and Toll Road carried the machine guns and ammunition drums, while the others each carried two drums and two boxes of bullets as they stealthily approached the castle.

While advancing, William instructed, "Christmas, signal Thor and Gunnar to be ready to support us at any time."

"Understood." It took them about forty minutes, moving cautiously, to reach the vicinity of the castle. They released several Black Blade drones to scout the castle and its surroundings. After understanding the situation, William told Barney and the others, "I'll go in first; you stick to the plan and ambush any troops leaving the castle."

Barney hesitated before saying, "Boss, let me and Christmas go in. You and Yin Yang, Caesar, and Toll Road can handle the ambush outside."

William smiled, "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Your task isn't easy either—taking out a hundred soldiers is no small feat. If things get too dangerous, call for air support from Thor and Gunnar."

Seeing they couldn't persuade William, Barney and the others followed the plan, carrying the machine guns and ammunition to the ambush point. Before leaving, Barney wished William good luck.

If it were just about killing Monroe and the island leader, William wouldn't need Barney's help; he was confident he could handle everyone in the castle alone. However, because there were a couple of hundred soldiers on the island, William wanted Barney's team to be ready to intercept reinforcements.

Using his mental scanning ability, William silently dealt with a few unprofessional sentries with throwing knives and infiltrated the castle. After eliminating several guards in the basement, he walked into the lower levels, shutting off the video sync function. As he moved, he planted remote explosives on the main support walls in the basement.

On the second underground level, he silently took out another five or six guards and discovered rooms filled with white powder and cash. While William didn't care about the powder, the cash made him hesitate.

After a moment of internal struggle, William left the second level, finding 200-liter gasoline barrels on the first underground level. Using his strength, he moved ten barrels to the second level's entrance, pouring the gasoline down the stairs.

After emptying all ten barrels, William set a remote detonator at the entrance to the second level and exited the basement.

William climbed a tree about 200 meters from the castle and, with a grin, pressed the detonator. A few seconds later, thick smoke began billowing from the basement, with flames faintly visible.

Within minutes, a group of soldiers escorted several people out of the castle, followed by servants. Among the escorted individuals, William quickly identified the island leader, Garza, Monroe, and Monroe's bald henchman, Payne. Once they reached the castle courtyard, Monroe and Garza loudly ordered the soldiers to extinguish the fire.

Watching the chaos from his perch, William felt a deep sense of satisfaction. He had orchestrated this scene to make Monroe and Garza witness the destruction of their most valued assets.

After enjoying the spectacle of Monroe and Garza's frantic behavior for a few minutes, William heard Barney's warning over his earpiece: the soldiers were leaving the camp and heading toward the castle.

With his targets out in the open and the castle's inhabitants evacuated, William had no reservations about demolishing the castle. He took out the detonator, patted it with a smile, and pressed the button. A muffled explosion sounded from the castle's basement, and the entire structure seemed to jump, followed by a rumbling as it slowly collapsed.

Amid the noise of the explosion and the collapsing castle, William aimed his silenced HK416 at Monroe and Garza, who were lying on the ground, and fired several bursts. The sound of the silenced shots was like music to William's ears, as blood mist erupted from Monroe and Garza.

After emptying a magazine, William reloaded and targeted the bald henchman Payne, who had gotten up and was running. Another burst of silenced shots cut Payne down before he could reach cover.

With the primary targets neutralized, William shifted his aim to the remaining threats, firing at those who were shooting back at him. Once he had taken out all the armed threats, William slid down from the tree, reloaded, and ignored the fleeing soldiers. Hearing gunfire in the distance, he knew Barney's group was engaging the reinforcements.

William moved quickly to join Barney and the others, who were in heavy combat. Reaching a small hill, he looked through his scope and saw dozens of soldiers, some lying prone, others taking cover behind trees and rocks, engaging in a firefight with Barney's team.
