Chapter 18: The Warden Has A Request

After silently contemplating the situation, Brother Zhou raised his head and looked at Hou Hong. "Well, even if what you said is true, is it difficult for you not to fight back in the past seven days?"

Upon hearing this, Hou Hong couldn't help but roll his eyes. Fight back? Brother, you make it sound simple; that's a female ghost. Why don't you give it a try? Of course, Hou Hong dared not say this to Brother Zhou.

Hou Hong shook his head with a wry smile and whispered, "Brother Zhou, it's not that we haven't fought back, but you haven't seen that female ghost. That monster can teleport. It will teleport directly to you and attack; you can't react at all."

"Haven't you tried any other methods?"

"We tried everything. We tried all methods of counterattack and hiding, but nothing worked. We even attempted to repair the generator according to the game rules in the letter, but..." At this point, Hou Hong sighed, shook his head, and fell silent.

"Fix the generator? What do you mean?" Brother Zhou, looking at Hou Hong with a frown, was getting a little annoyed. What do you mean always stopping mid-sentence?

"Brother Zhou, before we entered the abandoned hospital, we received a letter. The letter said that if we repaired five generators and opened the door to escape, we could get a short period of peace. We tried to repair the generators, but we failed. The female ghost can teleport. After discovering that we had started to repair the generators, she began to patrol between them. We didn't have enough time to repair the generators, but if we can't repair them, we won't be able to open the door."

Listening to Hou Hong's words, Brother Zhou suddenly felt something stir in his heart. He took out a notebook from his pocket and handed the notebook and a pen to Hou Hong. "Draw me the range of movement you can cover and the location of the generator."

"Okay," Hou Hong replied. Following Brother Zhou's instructions, he sketched the range of activities he could remember on paper in the form of a map. He also marked the location of the generators and some buildings on the paper.

After finishing the drawing, Brother Zhou took the page from Hou Hong. Carefully observing it, Brother Zhou showed a thoughtful expression. Seeing Brother Zhou's look, Hou Hong asked softly, "Is there any problem, Brother Zhou?"

"Let me ask you one more thing. Can the teleporting female ghost teleport continuously?"

"Continuous teleports? No, I've seen it teleport twice in a row at most."

"No interval?"

"Well, there seems to be an interval. After each teleportation, it lowers its head and stops for a while, as if in pain." Although he didn't know why Brother Zhou was asking, Hou Hong answered clearly. Over these seven days, even though he hadn't escaped the female ghost, Hou Hong had observed some patterns.

After listening to Hou Hong's words, Brother Zhou wrote something in his notebook and then asked Hou Hong some questions. Finally, Brother Zhou stopped writing, calculated silently, and suddenly showed an inexplicable smile. "I see, I understand."

"Ah? Brother Zhou, what do you understand?" asked Hou Hong, puzzled. Brother Zhou explained, "As the letter said, this is a game, but since it is a game, it cannot give you no chance of winning. In fact, according to my calculations, your chance of winning is still quite good, but you are not sure."

Hou Hong was confused after hearing Brother Zhou's words. What kind of words are these? Do you still have a chance of winning against that terrifying female ghost? Perhaps seeing Hou Hong's doubts, Brother Zhou continued, "You misunderstood the nature of this game from the very beginning. This is an escape game, not for you to kill the female ghost. I just did a simple calculation after listening to your words. Every time this female ghost teleports, the distance and times are limited, and what you have to do is not to pick up weapons to fight against it, but to pull and hide."

"Pull? It's not that easy," Hou Hong thought, feeling weak in his calves as he recalled the experience of the female ghost flying directly behind him, howling and slashing him down with a knife. In fact, the first time I met that scary female ghost, I was so frightened that I couldn't even move my legs.

"You can't pull, you can't hide. That's why you can't escape. You need to repair the five generators before the female ghost returns to defend the generator, open the door, and escape. These are the things that should be done." After taking a deep look at the dumbfounded Hou Hong, Brother Zhou also sighed in his heart. Expecting these simple-minded fools with well-developed limbs to figure this out on their own is like the sun rising in the west.

But having said that, Brother Zhou really admires this young man named Yang Chi now. Although I don't know what method the other party used to set up such a weird death escape game in the prison, it is undeniable that this method of giving you a little hope and then giving you despair can really shock these prisoners. Didn't you see that even people like Hou Hong were frightened?

Just as Brother Zhou was thinking about countermeasures, he suddenly saw prison guard Wang Lide walking towards him with several other guards. Seeing Wang Lide stop in front of him, Brother Zhou asked with a smile, "Prison Officer Wang, is something wrong?"

"Zhou Hu, the warden has something to ask you, please come with us," Wang Lide said, taking out his baton and hitting it in front of Zhou Hu. He stared closely at the man wearing glasses in front of him, his eyes full of suspicion. According to Yang Chi, the prisoner in front of him who usually abides by the rules is probably the real leader of these troublemaking prisoners!
