Chapter 275 272: Pushing an entire tribe to the afterlife (b)

It seemed like Val was on the brink of witnessing the obliteration of his meticulously crafted undead army at the hands of the enemy leader's devastating attack.

Every single undead soldier under his command had been a product of his hard work and strategic planning. Each of them represented a piece of his journey. To think that they would be wiped out in an instant by a single attack from a fatass was unacceptable to him. He would never let his painstakingly crafted undead army be annihilated without a fight!

Before the dire prediction could manifest into a nightmarish reality, Val decided to step in. With a swift and calculated move, he thrust his prized weapon, Voidslayer, in the direction of the massive blue orb.

A radiant beam of crimson light erupted from his blade, not only cleaving the orb into two perfectly distinct halves but also redirecting each segment in opposite trajectories.

Boom!

A resounding reverberation spread throughout the forest as these halves exploded beyond the confines of the clearing.

The shockwaves from their detonation were immense, turning the lush green surroundings into a wasteland.

Trees, shrubs, and everything else in the vicinity were obliterated, and in their place, two vast craters emerged, with each being roughly half the size of the clearing where the intense battle was unfolding between Val's undead and the elites of the Lumisoul Goblin Tribe.

"Are you finally going to battle them head-on a move?"

Voidslayer's voice echoed directly in Val's mind, its tone tinged with anticipation. While it was a pleasure to watch Val command his minions to wreck an entire tribe of monsters, it couldn't beat watching him in action. It was something entirely else, and Voidslayer was looking forward to it.

"Yeah," Val responded to his sword as a glint of determination flashed in his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he stepped out from the protective shadow of the trees that ringed the clearing, revealing himself fully to his adversaries.

The chief of the enemy tribe momentarily froze when he caught sight of Val. The orchestrator of this chaos, the one who had brought this battle upon them, now stood before him. If he could just capture Val, the tide of the battle would instantly turn in their favor. However, how could he possibly breach the defenses of the undead and reach their leader?

While he was lost in thoughts, Val looked at him deep in the eyes and said, "Your opponent is me," before dashing directly towards him.

The chief of the enemy tribe scoffed internally at the audacity of the young man charging at him. He didn't put Val in his eyes as what could a tiny human that was half his size do to him? In his mind, Val was just another who would be crushed beneath his massive stature just like all the enemies before him.

The tribe chief let out a whistle and a group of Lumisoul goblins turned towards Val and released waves of water.

The combined might of these waves that were roaring and thrashing with potent force, was enough to bowl over even the largest of foes. The chief was certain that Val would be overwhelmed and swept away.

However, Val tapped into his reserves of soul power before their attacks could hit him. Like an erupting volcano, soul power radiated outwards from him, forming an explosive shockwave that met the incoming water waves head-on. The collision resulted in a spectacular display as all the water attacks were forced back and redirected at the Lumisoul goblins who had conjured them.

Their own attacks crashed into them. The goblins found themselves drowning and dying in their own tidal waves while Val continued his charge towards the chief of the enemy tribe, who, without any warning, lunged forward, covering the ground between them in an instant before swinging a colossal punch aimed squarely at Val. The sheer might behind the chief's attack picked up wind and promised to be bone-crushing.

Val, in response, also threw a punch, propelling his clenched free hand forward with immense force, all the while strategically keeping his other hand, which firmly gripped the Voidslayer, behind his back.

The stark size difference between their fists was impossible to overlook. If one were to compare Val's fist to an object, it would be akin to an egg. In contrast, the tribe chief's fist was so massive it could easily be likened to a gigantic boulder.

It's a simple concept in nature: what happens when an egg is hurled against a boulder? Naturally, the egg would shatter upon impact. This exact analogy played out in the tribe chief's mind. His already grotesque face contorted further, twisting into an ugly, triumphant grin. Clearly, in his mind, he had already visualized the aftermath of this confrontation. He firmly believed Val's bold choice to face him directly would lead to a tragic end for the young warrior.

However, when their fists collided, the outcome sharply deviated from the tribe chief's confident predictions, and his smug expression faded instantly.

Crack!

The unmistakable sound of bones cracking resonated throughout the clearing. The intense pain emanating from the shattered bones wasn't Val's to bear, though. Instead, it was the tribe chief who found himself on the receiving end of the excruciating pain, and he let out an agonized cry, much to the shock of everyone present.

Now that he was visibly overwhelmed by pain, he wouldn't be able to react properly to any attack. In other words, a great opportunity had been presented to Val, and he took it without a second wasted, bringing his hand that was behind his back and holding a sword forward as he activated the Crimson Slash Skill.

An arc of crimson light burst out of the sword when it was brought forward, where it was between Val and the Tribe chief. This deadly skill was activated from such a range that it was impossible to dodge for the chief of the Lumisoul Goblin tribe, who was only as fast as a newly ascended level 5 bloodline user.

The arc of crimson sliced through him in a flash, drawing a red line on his body that stretched from his groin to his head.

The red line marked the point from where its body separated into two equal halves in the very next breath, its blood and innards sprawling onto the ground. Then, a dull thud sounded as its two halves fell to the ground simultaneously.
