Chapter 209: The Remaining Trials Part 3
Genbu suffered quite a lot of damage from the backlash, causing for the tortoise to bleed release blood on it's orifices. The Viper head did not arrive in time before the backlash occurred causing it to halt its movements the moment the attacks of Genbu was cancelled. Genbu roared in pain, rampaging around the surroundings, stomping its heavy feet to the ground which in result caused tremors.
Seeing the opportunity, I went ahead and get close enough before pointing my forefinger into the belly of Genbu which is exposed from the rampage.
"I will now take your inheritance!"
BANG!
The concentrated mana I released for the belly worked wonders as Genbu's final attempt to struggle vanished as I defeated Genbu's spiritual form. After Genbu's body disintegrated, the voice of the kid earlier once again resurfaced.
"Congratulations for passing the 3rd trial and defeating the celestial beast Genbu. As a reward for this round, the inheritance of Genbu will now be bestowed to you. Since the fourth trial is harder than the three trials, it is your choice whether to proceed or not. Will you proceed or will you stop for now?"
The last celestial beast I will be fighting next is a dragon, Seiryuu. I have fought against dragons before especially the accursed wyverns and is also one of the reasons I have the magic spell, [Domain of Balmung] for the sake of fighting them. I also have the power of Anya's father that was given to me as a blessing but since it has a side-effect, I have not used it that much due to its a little bit destructive powers that also affects me.
Genbu didn't pose too much trouble but since thr voice already indicated that Seiryuu is much harder than the rest, it is clear that I will be facing a new danger than I faced before. However, there is no point backing down.
"Let's proceed with the trial."
"Understood. The fourth trial will now commence."
The voice faded and the wind around the cavern started blowing. Despite the lack of space for tye wind to enter, the gusts formed from the wind is already strong enough. Then the ceiling of the cavern suddenly cracks open before the debris from the ceiling started floating. It is getting harder to breathe on the ground all of a sudden which means there must be some sort of trick going on.
The flying debris did not just fly in the sky like a balloon. They instead remain in the air which makes me think that they are purposely used as floating platforms. And since in the ground is now getting harder to breathe for some reason, I decided to use them and ascend from the cavern. Regulating my mana for a little bit, I managed to get my breathing a little bit stable until I get my breathing normal.
In the sky, Seiryuu is staring at me menacingly. Seiryuu is similar looking to the dragon in a certain anime who they keep on summoning after collecting 7 balls to grant some wish of theirs, with the only difference in color since Sieryuu is blue.
When I get myself on the first floating rock, I managed to recover and can now breathe once more. Seiryuu didn't attack at all but just continue to stare down at me. However, if the dragon will not attack, then I will attack first.
"[Lightning of Sundering!]"
A huge magic circle appeared above Seiryuu which proceeds to rain down a series of lightning bolts. However, the moment the lightning is about to reach Seiryuu's skin, the lightning did not get to proceed as Seiryuu itself swipe the lightning, blocking its advance and breaking it in the process.
Seeing the danger Seiruu possess, I have one choice and that is to defeat Seiryuu. Climbing up is the only option for me who cannot fly, allowing me to get closer to Seiryuu. Once our little gaps have finally shorten, I conjure both lightning and fireball on both hands before throwing them to the dragon.
BANG! BANG!
I didn't stop releasing the magic spell balls since they don't consume that much mana and throw them continuously on Seiryuu. However, things are different. Seiryuu snorted before slapping the spell balls I have thrown to the dragon, disintegrating the attacks I made. I thought it would remain the same as earlier and will just continue to stare at me however, things took a drastic turn when balls of mana appeared around Seiryuu, and my sense of danger suddenly proc out.
"[Domain of Balmung]!"
The moment I detected the danger, I activated my [Domain of Balmung] and was about to return to the first rock to reduce the damage the danger will inflict however, before I can even get my feet off the second rock, the balls of mana transformed into beams of magic that I have to immediately stop as they immediately bombarded me and the other platforms with the barrage.
All of the barrages are heavy and I immediately noticed that the attacks are getting stronger and the intensity of the damage those things inflicts is now getting out of hand.
Thankfully, my [Domain of Balmung] managed to hold out from the damage those beams deal but not everything managed to survive from those barrage. One of the unfortunate things that disintegrated from that barrage is the first floor rock I was about to stand on earlier. If I have jumped down their before the attacks fell to me, I might be alongside to the disintegrating rock.
After disabling the [Domain of Balmung], I jump to the third rock and the moment I jumped off the floating rock, it suddenly get disintegrated. Luckily for me, I managed to land to the third floating rock. Now I am high up in the sky to the point of no return.
Seiryuu is no longer staring this time. Once I get to the third floating rock, the dragon throws a fire breath attack. Without hesitation, I jumped into the fourth rock before casting [Lightning of Sundering] once again and accompanied with a few volleys of magic spells.
While Seiryuu is busy dealing with my incoming attacks, I took the slight amount of time to see the weakness of the dragon.
"[Weakness Perception]!"
I thought things would go well only to see the result of the scan.
