Chapter 42: Chapter 42: The Leaving Feast
Raven huffed as he flicked his hand letting the cold iron drop off it.
That was all he had been doing for the past two hours. Creating cold iron, and then dropping it onto his hand and flinging it away once he couldn't handle it.
He still wasn't sure about just why it effected him so much. He was a half-breed, so it shouldn't be as effective as it was. He should still be able to use some of his magic, not have it ALL fucking turn off.
The only thing he had at that point was his true magic, and luckily he had figured out how to cast magic without magic.
Yet, whenever he was surrounded entirely by the damn stuff, he started dying, or at least lost control of almost everything.
Cold Iron was originally iron taken from Mother Earth. Effects those of nonhuman. Yet, the effect shouldn't be as much as it is.
For a normal wizard, it should just make casting harder, but not impossible. For some races it was like a poison, but it didn't immediately take effect like it did for him.
So now he was trying to build up an immunity, and he goddamn would do so. He refused to be weak like that again.
Yet, he couldn't help it, he thought back to his talk with the root. She had said he wielded the powers of Creation itself. He could create whatever he wanted, and whatever displeased him could disappear as he wished.
However he just couldn't make that happen. Creating things was easier, but destroying things not so much.
He could vanish things, but destroying them was not easy. He had done it once on accident, but despite reviewing the memory and emotions he felt, he just couldn't replicate it.
It didn't take magic to do so, that he knew, so perhaps he was going about it wrong? Maybe he was focusing on it to much?
With a sigh, he grinned and created some cold iron cuffs, slip on ones around the lower forearm, and strapped them on, and he fell to his knees and hands.
Yet he smiled, for all he felt weak right now, he felt stronger then ever. Was a bit of an oxymoron, but he didn't care.
•~~~~•
Raven wouldn't lie, he fucking hated how much he felt physically restrained. Currently, he was a bit stronger then your normal human.
"You alright mate? You look like shit." Raven glanced to see the twins and a concerned Rose.
"Peachy. I'm working on resisting some stuff. I'll be fine eventually." Raven said as he gently rubbed at his forearm, before moving to eat his food.
"If you say so mate, also meet us on the train, we have a surprise for you!" The twins said and Raven nodded as he waved at them.
"Are you really alright?" Rose asked quietly and he offered her a gentle smile. Something she seemed to bring out in him. He didn't find it bad though.
"I will be." He responded. He gently rubbed the fur of Izzy as she jumped onto his lap. Her pur nice and relaxing. Also focusing.
"Ok. Hey if possible do you want to- never mind." Raven looked curiously at Rose, but shrugged, she was a big girl, and if she wanted to say something, she could. Plus this didn't seem a bad type of hesitation, more like unsure, but not bad unsure.
"Let me know if you wanna tell me what it is you wanted to say then later." He told her before returning to his food, and this time feeding scraps to Izzy.
"Students! I'm glad you all seem content with your meals. However before I dismiss you all for the final dinner of the year, I believe it's time again. The house cup." Albus said as he sat up and moved to his podium.
"Before that though, I do want to say what an amazing year it has been. It's always amazing to see so many new faces, and even though we may be losing those of you who graduated with us, I want everyone to know, help can be found at Hogwarts for those who ask." Albus said as everyone clapped.
"Now, let us begin. In fourth place, we have Gryffindor, with 562 points. In third place, Hufflepuff, with 587 points. In second place we have Ravenclaw with 678 points. Of course, that means in first place we have Slytherin, with a total of 703 points. Well done Slytherin!" Albus said as he clapped his hand and the banners changed to Slytherin ones.
"Now I will let you all go, to let those of you who need to pack, to do so." Albus said with a twinkle in his eye as he handed Snape the house cup.

Raven hummed as he enjoyed a final walk through Hogwarts before the train was due to leave. Izzy laid curled up around his neck peacefully.
Of course he would be back in a couple months, but still, he enjoyed the nice quiet morning walk while everyone was nursing hangovers. Say what you want about his fellow ravenclaws and their need for knowledge, but damn do they know how to throw a party.
He also noted it took a lot more for him to feel tipsy now. He didn't even get to become drunk last night, they ran out of alcahol, hell everyone had stopped drinking and let him drink the rest curious. He barley felt it.
He'd have to get the tougher stuff over the summer. Lori should have some, or maybe Hades. The dude was a god, he should have some strong alcohol.
"Wait, if I drink divine alcohol will I combust since I'm technically a mortal drinking divine drinks? Must test." Raven noted to himself grinning before he felt claws poking into his skin.
"Ok ok, I'll be safe!" Raven complained as he gently got his cat to remove her claws from his skin. What a mother hen. Can't ever do anything fun or dangerous when she's around.
•~~~~•
Raven laughed slightly as he walked to the train station area to board the express back to London.
"Heyo." Raven said as he walked into the cabin that the twins were in on the train.
"Hey mate!" They said in sync. As usual.
•~~~~•
Five hours later, Raven woke from his nap, of course the final hour left on the train ride was spent talking.
"So what's the big surprise?" Raven asked curiously.
"Strength. We're going to train our butts off. We will learn all the magic we can. That way one day, we can stand next to you as equals." The twins said and Raven let his head fall back as he laughed.
A joyful laugh.
"Very well, then as your bestfriend, I can only support and help you. Of course, said help will probably leave you so black and blue your regeneration will struggle to heal your bruises." Raven ferally grinned at the twins who shivered, but help firm in their belief to gather strength.
"Thanks mate. Also a less scary thought, we're opening a joke shop in the future. We're gonna spread out pranks far out, and we want you to join in with us. As 33.34% ownership to you." The twins said and Raven smiled.
"Can't deny that. I'm in. Forward me the paperwork or when I need to be there and where." He said and the twins nodded their heads.
•~~~~•
Raven ignored everyone as he walked out the train, Lori wouldn't be picking him up today, because apparently some dumbass decided to let his experiment run wild and cause some damage to the cloaking feature of the clocktower.
How anyone in the several realms of the underworlds allowed it to happen was mind boggling, nothing should exist close to that for research departments.
Truly, we're only stupid people attending guard duty at the time? He does not envy Lori for dealing with those idiots all day.
"Excuse me, may I have a moment of your time?" Raven recognized that tone, sometime trying to sucker uo to him. Turning around he saw this older blonde of a ponce pimp looking man. Though he did walk with the way of someone experienced in battle, to a degree. A good job, for a wizard.
"Hm?" Raven looked at them fully for a moment, a revolting piece of magic lay on the man's arm, he had removed the cuffs for now, he didn't feel safe without Lorelei near him at the moment.
"I saw you with Lady Bartemolei, and I wondered what your connection was to her?" The man asked and Raven mentally rolled his eyes. Lorelei this, Lorelei that. Everyone asked him what his connection to her was. Besides that Shirou person, hm, he should go hang out with Shirou later on.
•~~~~•
Shirou Emiya felt a shiver go down his spine for a moment, but brushed it off as he and Saber fought against a dead apostle.
•~~~~•
"Usually when people ask about my connection with her, they introduce themselves first. Common curtesy." Raven said with as much fake politeness as he could manage. He thought he succeeded as he saw the minute eye twitch of the man.
"Apologies, I am Lucius Malfoy, Lord of The Malfoy family."
"Raven Inanis, and I accept your apology. As for the information, I am her apprentice, of course if anyone dropped by the clocktower, they'd know that." Raven said and walked off afterwards, truly, politics sucked balls, and he didn't care for them. He'd rather just nuke bomb them.
