Chapter 44: Ready for Strike
-Days Later-
It's was a slow burn as the Russian Armed Forces advanced forward. Anastasia has given the plans to begin a operation that will take hold of large swaths of territory.
Currently, in St.Petersburg, Russian and British representatives are in a dialog on how to divide the Ottoman Empire once it falls.
"I suggest that we take a comprise. Once the Ottoman Empire falls we take Western Armenia, Pontus, gain a sphere of influence on the new nation that will succeed the Ottoman Empire, and some more lands once the war ends, while you take Mesopotamia, the lands that used to be the Kingdom of Jerusalem and anything that is between them."
The Russian Representative spoke.
"Hmm, I see no problem, but what becomes with their Balkan territories?"
The British Representative asked.
"The Balkans will divide that amongst themselves, but I suggest we interfere with some of the divisions. Give the Dardanelles and the Agean coast to the Greeks while they and the Bulgarians divide Eastern Thrace."
The British Representative thought of what his Russian counterpart said.
"What of Constantinople?"
The Russian Representative went into a deep thought.
"My Emperor said that he is fine if the city falls to the Greeks, as long as the Ottomans don't keep it once the war is over."
The British Representative nodded.
"Good to know, there is still the lands of Assyria. What becomes of that?"
The Russian Representative sighed as he answered.
"This idea comes from the Princess, but she says that whoever gets there first gets to decide its fate. But if the Ottomans surrender before anyone gets to Assyria, it will become its own Nation. She hopes that you relay this message to your King."
The British Representative chuckled as he nodded.
"I understand, I will relay this to his Majesty you can assure the Saintess."
The Russian Representative gave a hand as the British Representative shook it.
-Russian Ground Forces Comand, Frontline Comand-
The Comand Center is buzzing with activity as the Generals discuss Anastasias plan.
As they discussed Marshall Michael asked Marshall Alexi.
"Alexi, how are your Marines doing?"
Alexi looked away from the map before him as he turned to his friend.
"Thanks to you, my men don't have to brave through the onslaught of Ottoman hordes anymore as they try to retake the cities under our control. Tho I have to say, the IFV's are a life saver."
Michael nodded.
"Thank her Highness who made them with her resources."
A General approached.
"The new air units are ready, they should already be taking of."
Michael and Alexi nodded.
Alongside the IFV's a new unit of flying craft were introduced to the Russian Armed Forces as they marveld at the new toy.
Their objectives is to scout enemy forces and relay their advancement and location to Comand.
"Alright everyone, the operation is about to begin. We will attack them with our armored units and quickly advance towards the targeted cities. Get to your men and wait for her Highness's order."
Everyone nodded as they went to their men.
"Alexi, your men are waiting, go and wait for her Highness's signal, once you do, give them what they deserve."
Michael turned back to his friend.
"Oh don't worry, my men are inching for revenge for what they had to go through. The endless waves of Ottoman troops will be repaid in full."
Alexi replied with a smile.
-Later after preparation-
Anastasia looks at the attack strategy on the map before her. It's a good plan, the Ottomans will be overwhelmed as their numbers won't save them, not while at the same time the British are at the gates of Bagdad and Tel Aviv.
With the Balkan Front already finished with Albania rebelling. Only Eastern Thrace is still left, but that is still firmly under Ottoman control as the front is smaller and easier to defend with the massive numbers of Ottoman troops.
"I never likes the Ottomans, they caused so much harm to the native people of the Middle East, Anatolia and Balkans. It's time to avenge them and make them pay for causing the incursions."
Anastasia spoke as she sighed. She hates when a war breaks out, but when the public advocate for it and with her not being the Monarch, she has no choice. She feels sadness when she sees the death of men who fight. But she also has a duty to her Nation and people.
When others threaten the Sovereignty of her Nation, she has to fight back.
She can order her men not to kill but that will get them killed in return. So she makes sure that as much as her own return alive as much as she can.
She picked up a radio and spoke into it.
"Alright, Operation Lighting Strike is a go."
