Chapter 11 – Worried

Mira quickly ended the conversation and regretted her decision after the call ended. It was because she was afraid that her mother would find out who she was talking to, which was something she was avoiding. She clenched her fist, took a deep breath, then smiled and went to see her mother.

Maria smiled and quickly invited Mira to eat as soon as she saw her daughter come. While eating, Mira's phone vibrated, which was placed beside her. She saw a message from Luna's mother and paused for a moment, a little hesitant, which was noticed by Maria.

"Take a look, maybe it's important," Maria said. Although she was curious about Mira's behavior, she chose not to be too nosy, as her daughter was already an adult and she believed that Mira could decide on her own now.

Mira looked at her mother's smile and decided to look at the message later. She didn't want to be rude to Luna's mother, but she was eating right now. Although she knew her mother would tolerate her using her phone while eating, she was already used to not using her phone and treasuring her time with her mother. She was just reluctant because it was Luna's mother. Although she hated her, she wasn't the kind of person who would deliberately make everything complicated.

Mira shook her head. "It's okay, it's not that important."

Maria looked at her daughter's evasive eyes and knew she was lying, but she just let it go. If her daughter didn't want to talk about it, then so be it.

"Then eat more. By the way, have you talked to your professor?"

"Yes, I'll just have to come again tomorrow for my documents and about my certificate. My professor said she will just deliver it in person."

"Huh? No, I can just go to your school. We already troubled your professor, and it would be embarrassing if she has to come here."

"But Mom..." Mira couldn't say anything. She didn't want her mother to come to her school because she was afraid that she would see Luna and might remember some unpleasant memories, or worse, she might see Luna's mother.

Mira saw her daughter's worried face, which was a little funny for her. She chuckled and pinched her daughter's cheek. "Honey, I'm an adult, what are you worried about? It's not like I can't walk alone or will go to some dangerous place, and most of all, I'm not a child."

Mira didn't want to mention anything related to Lilith and Luna to her mother, but she really couldn't think of any reason to stop her mother. She just hoped that their paths wouldn't cross.

"Okay, Mom."

"Unhappy?"

"No."

"What are you worried about?"

"Well, I'm just worried to let you go alone since it's been a while since you go out. What if you meet some bad people?"

"Hahaha, honey, I want to remind you I may look weak, but I'm a good fighter when I was younger. Even now, I feel like I can still fight to protect myself."

Mira, of course, knew about it. If her mother wasn't good at fighting, maybe her mother might be lying in the hospital years ago because of her father's beating, but she couldn't think of any reason.

Mira smiled awkwardly. "Alright, but Mom, I would be more at ease if you bring Aunt Anna."

"Alright, I would ask her when the time comes. Seriously though, I feel like you're treating me like a child."

"Mom, I told you, you're more like my sister than my mother, and people who don't know you have a daughter might even hit on you when they see you, after all, you look so pretty."

"Here... eat more, you sweet talker." Maria smiled at her daughter's praise, but this time, she took her words seriously and planned to call Anna, her friend, later.

Mira went to the balcony as soon as she finished washing the plates. Luna's mother sent the location of the meeting place and the time. She didn't know what to say, but since she agreed, she had no choice but to go.

Somehow she felt like it wasn't as simple as thanking her ' Since I'm using my mother's surname, it's not hard for Luna's mother to connect me to her so-called best friend, which is my mother. So by now, maybe it's really not all about thanking me, but no matter what her reason is, I won't let her see my mother '

---

At campus, as soon as Mira was about to go upstairs to the faculty room, she was stopped by someone she didn't know. But the girl who looked timid in front of her seemed to be her classmate. Mira didn't speak and just looked at the girl waiting.

The timid girl gulped nervously. She was pushed to do this, although she was scared of Mira, she still decided to do what was instructed to her. Besides, it was rare to see Mira close up, so even if she was scared, nervous, and shy, she still stretched out both hands holding a letter while bowing her head. There was a gasp around. The people who stopped to watch were shocked and didn't expect that the timid girl would be so brave to give a love letter.

Mira was also shocked, but she didn't show it on her face. She reached out and took the letter, then she heard the girl as soon as she held the letter.

"Please! Read it now, it's very important!" The timid girl said and quickly walked away without looking back.

Mira looked at the pink letter. She didn't know what to do about it, but the timid girl said it was very important. She frowned, then she looked around. All the people watching quickly turned their heads in unison, as if they were not interested in whatever was happening. Mira continued to go upstairs, and then she opened the letter. It was said in the letter that someone very important wanted to see her at the garden at 2 p.m and the person would wait for her.
