Chapter 21- Mira & Aunt Liona
When Mira got off the plane, she immediately wanted to call her mother, but she couldn't find her cellphone. She searched for it in her pocket and even in her shoulder bag, but it was nowhere to be found. Liona, who had just opened her phone, saw a message from Maria saying that Mira had left her cellphone at home and asked her to accompany Mira to buy a new phone. Liona told Mira about this, and Mira breathed a sigh of relief.
Liona couldn't help but tease Mira, "Are you that excited to come here? You even forgot your phone,"
Mira smiled helplessly, "I was rushing at that time and maybe forgot my phone. I was a little nervous, so I really didn't have time to check my things. I'm sorry to bother you, Aunt."
"What bother? I'm your beautiful and kind-hearted Aunt. I can buy you anything you want – just say it! I have a lot of free time," Liona said as she pulled Mira's free hand and walked forward.
"Actually, aside from your phone, we should buy some items for you to use, and some medicine just in case you get homesick."
"It's okay, Aunt. I can just buy it myself. You already helped me a lot."
"Geez… you're like your mother. How 'bout this, let me help you first since you're new here. It would be safer if I go with you, and then just treat me to dinner. I heard from your mother that you can actually cook."
Mira thought about it before she agreed.
Liona is actually Maria's neighbor who became close friends with Mira's mother when they were still living with Mira's father. Liona, who also loves photography like her mother, likes to travel around and happens to have a sister in the US who works for a tech company. They have a really good relationship, so when Liona found out that Mira went to college to take the business course, she didn't hesitate to offer a helping hand. She said that as soon as Mira graduated, she would help her get into her sister's company. Although it's not big yet, it has great potential, and with Liona's helping hand, Mira took the opportunity and studied harder. She didn't want to take the opportunity for granted. She wanted to prove that she was worth it and that her Aunt Liona's help wouldn't go to waste.
Mira felt grateful that aside from her mother, she also had an Aunt who treated her like her own. "Aunt, what would you like to eat?"
"Anything is fine. By the way, my sister will also come. I told her that I already brought you here."
"W-what? That… she's not busy?" Mira asked nervously. After all, she had never seen her Aunt Liona's sister, and soon that sister would be her senior.
"Hahaha, look how nervous you are! She's just 21, only two years older than you. She's like a royal sister, and she's also reliable. You might get to like her more than me if you get to know her."
"How is that possible? You're my most beautiful and kind-hearted Aunt."
Mira and Liona talked while riding in the car. When they got to the big building, Mira was shocked that it was actually an apartment. Only the three rooms on the first floor were being rented, as the other three rooms upstairs were owned by Liona and Liona's sister. The last room was where Mira was going to live. Mira wanted to rent it, but Liona refused stubbornly.
"We're here. This room is my room, the room in the middle is my sister's, and the last room is yours. Here is the key. You can put your things in there first, then we can go out and buy some necessities. I would change first. See you later!"
"Okay, thank you, Aunt."
"Go, go, go quickly."
"Yes."
Mira dragged her luggage to the last room and went inside. The apartment was just as big as it looked from the outside. Mira estimated that three or four people could actually live in there and thought that the rent might not be cheap. She looked around, and everything was already prepared inside. The kitchen was clean with complete cooking tools. The bathroom was huge and also had a huge mirror. The water temperature was adjustable, too. Next, Mira went to check her room. There were two rooms, one was a bedroom, and the other one seemed to be a study room, but there wasn't much in there, unlike the bedroom that had obviously been prepared.
Mira felt grateful that it seemed her Aunt Liona had really taken everything into consideration. She quickly changed and excitedly went to Liona's apartment, although her excitement couldn't be seen in her calm look and demeanor. You would only notice it if you looked at how fast she walked and the little smile she had.
Mira knocked twice at the door. No one opened it. She knocked again, and Liona finally came out.
Liona noticed that Mira seemed to be happy. "Did you like your apartment?"
"Yes, Aunt. You're so considerate."
"I'm glad you like it, but it's not me who took care and arranged your apartment."
"Ah?"
"It's my sister," Liona smiled as she enjoyed watching Mira's expression change. Although it wasn't exaggerated, the little changes of expression in someone who always had an indifferent expression could be said to be wonderful and satisfying.
"You should thank her later. By the way, her name is Vivian."
Mira nodded. Mira and Liona went to a mall nearby. They first bought a phone and a sim card, then bought a few necessities. After that, they went to the grocery store. Mira bought a lot of ingredients and thought to put the others in the fridge later.
When they came home, it was already 5 in the afternoon, and Mira still hadn't put her clothes out of the bag, she set it aside as it was getting late then focused her attention on what she was going to cook and for dessert. She only texted her mother a few times before getting busy in the kitchen.
