Chapter 17: Chapter 17 First Team Contract! The Second Star Card Will Appear Soon?
"After pulling off that hat-trick comeback, he goes and says the Bundesliga is nothing?"
"The 16-year-old Chinese kid stole the show, setting the record for the youngest appearance in German football!"
"Three goals in 10 minutes! The rising star from the World Youth Championship single-handedly defeated Sandhausen!"
"Union Berlin's hero of the match, partying it up at the nightclub after the game."
Su Luo's hat-trick comeback victory in his debut caught the attention of the media.
His performance in the Xia Tian World Youth Championship quickly made headlines.
Leading the considered weakest national youth team to the final, only to be dropped from the squad before the last match.
Upon joining Union Berlin's youth team, he dominated the youth league, but his off-field antics, often seen partying at nightclubs with his teammates, drew attention.
And now, just after the game, he's back at the nightclub, photographed drinking and chatting with two supermodels.
In an interview after the game, he brazenly threatened to conquer the Bundesliga, claiming this season would be his breakthrough.
Soon, his image as a sensual, debauched, young, and frivolous talent became widespread.
The German football media, "Kicker," described Su Luo thus:
"His demeanor doesn't fit Union Berlin's blue-collar ethos at all. I fear the club may have misjudged this time."
"In football, there's no shortage of young talents who rise to fame but fail to live up to expectations later. Most of them fizzle out."
"I suspect this young man from the East might follow the same path..."
While German media lauded Su Luo's last game performance, they remained skeptical of such an inconsistent player's future.
Maybe he'll just be a flash in the pan and vanish completely?
...
The next day at the training ground, Su Luo was summoned to Coach Neuhaus's office.
His teammates couldn't help but worry for him.
"What now? I was the one who suggested going to the nightclub this time," admitted Brazilian Silvio, feeling embarrassed.
"Let's focus on training. Su was the hero of the last game; he shouldn't be punished," reassured Captain Matuschka.
In just one game, Su Luo had won the team's admiration. No one wanted him back in the youth team.
In the coach's office, Neuhaus had intended to have a serious talk with Su Luo.
He didn't want Su Luo getting carried away after one victory. Young players needed to stay grounded to succeed.
But Su Luo got straight to the point:
"Coach, I won, right?"
"Yes, but..."
"So when do I sign my first-team contract?"
"You!"
Su Luo cut off all of Neuhaus's scolding. He had no intention of reneging on his promise and promptly summoned Football Director Nick Shaffer.
Nick Shaffer was impressed by Su Luo's confidence.
"Su, your performance yesterday was outstanding! Keep it up! Here's your first-team contract. Uwe here prepared it. Have a look... By the way, do you have an agent?"
Neuhaus's face turned dark. Nick had undermined his authority.
Su Luo didn't mind. He carefully reviewed the contract terms.
Having dealt with many contracts in his previous life, he quickly checked for any issues and signed without hesitation.
"Don't you want someone to review it first?"
"No need. I trust the club won't mistreat us."
"Su, thanks for your trust! But for smoother dealings in the future, it's best to have an agent handle some matters."
"Thanks, I'll look into it."
Besides training, Su Luo had to attend classes at a Berlin high school, so he needed an agent.
He could sort out those details after the season; after all, the contract was signed.
His previous apprenticeship contract of 1300 euros per week had officially expired, replaced by a real professional contract!
Su Luo's performance had earned him a first-team contract with a weekly salary of 7250 euros, rising to 8000 euros after playing more than 15 games this season.
If he helped the team achieve their goal of reaching the Bundesliga, he'd sign a new Bundesliga contract next season, starting at a minimum of 13,000 euros per week!
Appearance fees were 1800 euros, goal bonuses were 3000 euros, and substitutes received 750 euros per match.
Selection for the year's best team and winning the Golden Boot each came with a 75,000 euro bonus!
And there was a 100,000 euro bonus for Bundesliga success!
With a comprehensive annual salary exceeding 600,000 euros, Su Luo was already among the highest earners, given the club's financial constraints.
"I hope you'll be more disciplined in the future. Stay away from places you shouldn't be and train hard whenever you can. Otherwise, we'll send you back to the youth team anytime."
Neuhaus wanted to reprimand Su Luo.
"Yeah, I understand."
That night, Su Luo pocketed his signing fee of 30,000 euros and hit East Berlin's renowned nightclub, Berghain, with a few teammates.
"Ladies and gentlemen, a round of drinks for Mr. Su from the East tonight!"
"Sue! Sue! Sue!"
Su Luo received cheers comparable to those in the stadium, toasting with his teammates.
Brazilian Silvio, midfielder Martin Dach, Captain Matuschka, and others were all there.
"Welcome, Su, to the first team!"
"Cheers!"
After a couple of rounds, Su Luo descended to the dance floor, citing his desire to dance disco.
His teammates gave him knowing looks.
They understood what it meant to dance on the club's dance floor.
Su Luo didn't bother explaining. Amidst deafening music, he closed his eyes, seeking the state of "harmony with nature."
Until he found another method, the most effective way to enter the "fantasy" was still the nightclub.
The last time he'd been at a nightclub, he'd noticed the apparition beside Da Luo becoming clearer and more distinct.
Judging by its color depth, the progress meter had reached around 10% before.
After winning the last match, the progress had skyrocketed, surpassing 50%!
Another win or two might earn him the second star!
Just as he was about to find his rhythm and enter the "illusion,"
A warm and fragrant body collided with him, snapping him out of his trance.
"I'm so sorry! I've had a bit too much to drink and can't seem to stand straight."
Su Luo looked up, his eyes lighting up at the sight of the woman's delicate and noble face and tall figure.
For a gentleman, helping a young lady who had overindulged was a given, wasn't it?
