Chapter 64: Strange Energy!
Roar!
The terrifying roar echoed in the entiret mountain, frightening weak, small undead creatures.
Dragon's piercing gaze was locked on Ayaan. It didn't even bother to look at the other undead commanders who were in Ayaan's control. For the skeleton dragon, it was beneath his majestic self to even glance at these skeletons.
Ayaan sneered at the skeleton as he saw its disdainful gaze, "You weren't even a true dragon when you were alive but you only had a little trace of dragon bloodline. After dying you are posing as if even true dragons are nothing in front of a low breed like you!"
"How dare you, human!" the skeleton general immediately shouted in rage. It was always proud of itself, no one ever dared to call it low breed, not even lich emperor. It was one of the lich emperor's most powerful dragon general after all.
Today, however, a lowly human dared to insult it in front of all its subordinates...err.. they were now Ayaan's subordinates.
Just when the dragon shouted it lunged at Ayaan with red glowing eyes, reaching Ayaan in a blink. It extended its claw, trying to shatter Ayaan's skull in pieces.
"Be careful!" Rebecca warned him anxiously, the attack was very vicious and deadly.
When the claw was just a few meters away, suddenly, a wall formed in front of Ayaan, catching dragon by surprise, however, it didn't stop.
Boom!
Crash!
The bone claw shattered the barrier in just a single hit. Though the attack of the dragon was also neutralised by the barrier.
Ayaan had been pushed back due to the impact of the attack. The traces of blood appeared at the corner of his lips. With the help of the thumb, he wiped the blood from his mouth and gulped down his throat the remaining blood which was still in his mouth.
Finally, he looked at the skeleton general and curled his lips into a mocking smile, "You have just broken through to the seventh level. Your foundation is still unstable, you are no different than a peak sixth level great mage."
The general looked at Ayaan in shock, it hadn't expected that he would be able to take his attack head-on. What's more, Ayaan was able to tell its exact strength. He was correct, the dragon's strength was only at the peak sixth level.
As if realising something, the skeleton asked Ayaan with a weird expression, "You were probing my strength by putting that barrier. That was the reason why you insulted me; so I would use my full strength in rage."
When Ayaan saw the weird expression on the bony face of the dragon, he chuckled, "You are really different from those brainless creatures, even these commanders can't compare with your intelligence. You are as intelligent as any human."
Previously, when Ayaan saw the excited dragon shouting about its breakthrough, the first thing which came in his mind was running. However, he resisted and used his skill to find if the dragon had really broken through.
At that time, he realised that although the dragon had broken through, there wasn't any major improvement in its strength. Ayaan had fought with it before; therefore, he knew the skeleton's strength clearly. The dragon had forcefully broken, and its foundation wasn't stable.
Because of that, Ayaan used an earth elemental spell to form a barrier to test his theory.
"Although you were able to block my attack, you are already injured. How long do you think you would be able to hold?" the dragon general sneered at Ayaan's delusional thinking and again unleashed its attack.
Ayaan only chuckled when he heard the dragon's words and shouted at his skeleton soldiers, "What are you standing for, useless things!? Attack!"
Hearing their masters command, the group of skeletons dashed towards the dragon frantically with the sabres in the hands.
However, Ayaan didn't stop there and started to summon even more undead which he had revived after killing in different planes. One after another, a few hundred undead were standing in front of Ayaan.
And the most frightening thing was not their number but their strength. Every one of them was a great mage undead!
Even though they were just at the low level of a great mage, just a sheer number was enough to frighten any family in the Doham. Not even the royal family would be able to handle all of them at the same time if they were to attack.
There were quite a few avian types undead present in the undead army. Hearing Ayaan's shout, all of them flipped their wings, sprinting towards the skeleton dragon frenziedly.
At this time, even the skeleton general was shaken. If there were ten or twenty, it would easily able to handle them. However, handling hundreds of great mages undead was really troublesome.
Whoosh!
Before it could do anything, a bird which was looking like an eagle unleashed its attack. The undead was the wind elemental type magical beast before Ayaan killed it and after becoming undead, it could still use its elemental attacks.
However, the bodies of those undead which Ayaan had revived didn't become as tough as skeletons or other undead in the undead plane. It was as if he had just revived the creatures, but nothing else changed inside them.
Boom!
Wind blade unleashed by the bird landed on the huge body of the dragon, the dragon frame trembled slightly and everything became calm.
The dragon saw the useless attack and sneered at Ayaan, "So, like this, you are going to defeat me? Naive!"
Looking at the hovering skeleton in the air, Ayaan said with a smirk, "Sorry, I am not going to defeat you but tame you and you will also follow my command as the dog follows its master."
"You are courting death, boy!" this time the general completely lost its patience and breathed a dark fog, attacking Ayaan.
"Attack!" Ayaan shouted before forming an earth shield around himself.
At the moment, Rebecca was standing far away from the fight. She still remembered the time when Ayaan was still in beast form, she used to protect him. But now, she had become a burden on him.
She looked at Ayaan, sighing; but then, a strong determination to become strong flashed in her eyes. For her revenge, for her man and for herself. She would become stronger!
Nevertheless, Ayaan didn't know what was going on in her mind, he continued to struggle with the dragon's attack.
Bang!
Creak!
The black fog completely shattered the barrier and invaded his body.
"Argh!"
Suddenly Ayaan shrieked in pain; the fog had invaded his body and went directly towards his consciousness. His every pore screamed in pain.
"Ayaan!" Rebecca screamed when she saw the development of the situation.
"Stop, don't come near me! This fog is strange, it attacks the consciousness of a person." Ayaan warned her.
"So, how are you going to deal with it?" She sobbed, tears falling from her eyes when she saw his painful expression. His whole face turned red, he was sweating profusely.
Hearing her question, Ayaan chuckled, "Have you forgotten that no one below heaven rank mage could kill me in this world."
Rebecca's expression relaxed a little, however, the worry was still plastered on her face.
Sometime before, Ayaan had already told her his secrets, not hiding anything. This was the trust which was built after going together in many life and death situations.
"Hahaha! You are dead, boy. No one could escape from my ultimate spirit devouring spell!" the skeleton dragon laughed triumphantly.
Just as its attack landed on Ayaan, hundreds of attacks shooted towards the frame of the skeleton.
Boom!
When the all-out of attack of the undead army landed on the general, its body was smashed on the mountain with a rumbling sound, shattering the mountain, producing a huge pit on the ground.
Rumble!
Ayaan closed his eyes and inspected the energy which was trying to eat his consciousness. Suddenly, his consciousness produced a strange light.
He saw two different energies mixed together: one was full of life as if it was the reason for living in the world. While another was dark energy, looking as if it could destroy heaven and earth, the manifestation of death itself.
After he saw the dark energy, Ayaan realised that his death element was nothing in front of this energy. Previously he thought his death element energy was the purest energy in the world. Now, however, he realised that there were energies purer than his elemental energy provided by the system.
However, he didn't understand why such energies were present inside his consciousness. 'Is it coming from the system? No, if it was the case, I would be able to use it, because I am its controller, or am I still not powerful enough to control these energies?'
Many questions but no answer; as he was lost in thoughts, the dragon's dark fog was devoured by the strange light produced by his consciousness, everything fell into silence afterwards. It was looking as if nothing happened inside his consciousness.
Roar!
Suddenly, the dragon which had just come out from the rubble of the mountain roared agonisingly and fell from the sky.
Boom!
Gradually, Ayaan opened his eyes and saw the dragon who had fallen from the sky. The spell of the dragon was connected with its consciousness.
When the spell was devoured by that strange light, the connection between dragon and his spell was forcefully shattered and the dragon felt as if its consciousness had ripped by someone.
Ayaan stood and immediately chanted his spell. This was a very suitable time to control this skeleton general. If it was able to regain its strength it would become even harder to control it.
