Chapter 92: The Path of the Strongest
The dark shadow looked at the village with his emotionless eyes. Then, he cut his finger and a drop of blood fell on his other hand. He channelled his energy and the drop of his blood started to change its shape.
After changing its shape, the blood formed the skeleton like a human in his hand. Following that, the organs started to develop inside the skeleton, intestine, pancreas, liver, lungs, heart so on and so forth. After completing the organs, the veins and flesh started to form. Blood pumped through his veins. In the two hollow sockets of the skeleton appeared red eyes.
After that, the skin formed over the blue veins and purple flesh. As this happened, black hair formed over the bald head of the new entity. However, the face of this newly formed entity was still hidden behind the blur.
The man looked at the tiny figure in his hand and said with an emotionless voice, "Go!"
"Kekeke!" The cackle resounded throughout the small village and his figure enlarged. Becoming the same as the man with the blade. Afterwards, the enlarged man disappeared. There was no expression on the man's face, though. He just stood there like a god looking at the mortals as if they were just the dirt under his foot.
In the farms of the village, a few villagers were planting seeds; but at this moment, an outsider appeared on the farm. He walked over the place where the farmers had planted the seeds initially.
The farmers saw this and complained, "Brother, we have already planted the seeds at that place. Please, don't walk over there. It will ruin our hard work."
Though the farmer was annoyed by the man's behaviour, he didn't show any anger on his face. However, the man continued to walk towards the farmer, without speaking anything, like a robot controlled by remote control.
The owner of the farm and other farmers frowned, after looking at the strange behaviour of the man. They didn't know what the man wanted. Just when the farmer wanted to ask again, the man in front of him disappeared.
"Puchi!"
Before anyone could react, the blood splattered everywhere. The farmer looked down and realised that a demonic claw was digging inside his chest. He turned towards the man and looked at the dark-red eyes of the man. He tried to say something but no voice came out of his mouth.
Slowly, the body of the man started to shrink. The skin of the man became paler and paler. At last, the body was looking as if he didn't even have a drop of blood inside his body. The eyes which were laughing just a few minutes prior had no life left in them. The man was dead.
The demon took his hand out of the farmer's chest, and then, the body of the farmer withered like chaff in the ground of the farm. Falling on the soil like the seeds on the farm.
After killing the first farmer, the red light inside the eyes of the demon became darker. He turned towards the other horrified farmer — the farmers tried to escape, but how an ordinary person could run away from such a fiend.
Before they could take more than ten steps, their bodies withered on the soil like the first farmer.
After killing the farmer, the demon didn't stop. He walked towards the village. In front of him was a field in which a few children around the age of eight to twelve were playing. The man looked at them like a hungry wolf.
A small girl around the age of eight looked at the man and smiled innocently. She looked at the man and said with her innocent voice, "Uncle, do you also want to play?"
The girl blinked a few times, however, the man didn't reply. He continued to walk towards the girl. The innocent girl thought that the man wanted to play with the children and jubilantly said, "Alright, if you want to play, then, you have to follow our rule…"
Suddenly, the girl stopped, her eyes wide open, looking at the man in confusion while murmuring, "Why is it so cold? Why is it so painful?"
Gradually, the life in the innocent eyes faded, and her body withered on the ground and mixed in the dirt, to never smile again.
The children and adults who saw the scene became pale, shivering and crying in fear. Some even started to beg while bowing until their head hit the ground. But those innocent people didn't know that begging won't be able to help them. It will only please the cruel demon standing in front of them.
Eventually, the fiend turned towards other people. Begging had no impact on the cold heart of the man. His eyes were still shimmering with cruel violent lustre.
In just fifteen-minutes, the village which was lively and full of vitality turned into the land of the dead. No one left alive, no child no women, no one.
In the end, the man's body reeked with a bloody smell. The eyes were so red that it was horrifying. It felt as if they were holding unlimited power inside them.
Thereafter, the man went towards the man with the blade on his back. The man didn't speak anything. He touched the head of the fiend, blood splattered around. The blood which was a single drop when he formed the demon, now, had become like a pool.
However, no drop fell on the ground. The blood remained in the air. Waving in front of the man.
Afterwards, the man touched the corner of the bloody pool in the air and the blood started entering the body of the man, vanishing without any trace. The man suddenly released the powerful bloody energy, and then, disappeared in the vast sky.
Ayaan and other people looked at the scene with wide eyes. No one knew what was the meaning of this. Why such a cruel scene appeared at the time when Isobel entered the altar. The most worried in the group was Noor. Isobel was her sister, after all.
Noor turned towards Leafwhisk, asking worriedly, "Is there any problem?"
"She has received the 'All-Consuming Blood Sutra'. It is a blood elemental art and is rather fierce. If a person wasn't able to control it properly, then, he or she would be controlled by the sutra, becoming just like the demon in the scene, killing and devouring innocent people." Leafwhisk replied without the change in her expression.
"Does that mean, sister will become like that man?" Noor's eyelashes trembled with fear and anxiety.
"If it is like that, then we shouldn't let her practice this sutra," Ayaan suggested. He was also worried that Isobel would become a killing machine, controlled by her sutra, instead of controlling it.
"Hmph! So what if there's a chance of becoming a mindless killing machine? Does that mean, she should give up on becoming strong and live her life ordinary people?" she turned towards Noor and said, "Do you think, practising a space element is easy? One single mistake and you would be dead. One single mistake in teleportation and you will end up at the height of thousands of kilometres above the ground. Tell me what will happen when you will fall from that height?"
Afterwards, she turned towards Rebecca, "Do you think practising the ice element is a joke? If you want to compare ice elements difficulty it is comparable to the blood element. If you aren't powerful enough to control your sutra, it will freeze your emotions. You will just become a robot without any emotions. Will you still consider yourself human, hmm?"
Finally, she turned towards Ayaan, "If you fear that much, stop practising elemental power. Just live your life like mortals in this world. In this world if you want to become strong then you have to walk at the edge of the sword all the time; one miss and boom, everything would vanish."
After hearing her lecture, Ayaan fell into deep silence. He didn't know how to respond because every single word was correct. There was a time when he didn't practice time magic, he thought it was too dangerous for him. Only now, did he realise that the path of the strongest was supposed to be dangerous.
If you were walking an easy path, you could still become strong due to luck. However, the path of the strongest needed you to slaughter every danger in your path, you can't take any shortcut in this matter or that danger would become your heart demon, hindering your path to the peak.
Subsequently, Ayaan turned towards Leafwhisk with a grateful expression. There was no ulterior motive this time in his head, he was genuinely feeling thankful to the lady. She had made him understand the great truth of the strongest.
"Thank you," Ayaan didn't say any more after two words and those two words weren't to please anyone. He just wanted to tell that he was grateful to her.
Leafwhisk smiled but didn't speak anything. She turned towards the altar and chuckled, "Here comes your demonic girl."
