Chapter 4: Student Exchange Program
"QUIET!" Mr Philips shouted as the class became silent.
"Quiet! Is this how to talk...and that to a new student?" Mr Philips asked shaking his head in disappointment.
"I can't believe this." He continued.
"We're sorry sir." The boys apologized.
"Fine, apology accepted."
"Ariana, take a seat at the back and tell me if you need anything." He said with a warm smile.
"Sure." I nodded slowly and headed in the direction which I was told.
JOSHUA'S POV:
"Phew!" That's me breathing a sigh of relief. Jayden had finally told me where Ariana was and I'm just a few steps away from her but...
"Joshua! I know a way." Jayden stated as I looked up at him with pleading eyes.
"Boss! She's here." A guy spoke before Jayden could.speak.
"Give it!" Jayden ordered as the nervous girl nodded her head and gave out the flyer in her hand.
"You can go!" Jayden said without giving her a second glance and turned to me handing the flyer.
"What is this?"
"Check what's written in it?" He said with narrowed eyes.
I sighed and glances through the paper. Everything didn't even make sense all I knew was that the paper was for a student exchange program which was going on between Royal High and Crown Academy.
Every year, the final year students from each school get a chance to represent their school in this program which will be for a month.
"You're going to Crown Academy." Jayden stated as I looked up at him confused.
"Really? Are you sure? It's a student program and I'm not...you know that-"
"I know you're not academically sound." Jayden said with a straight face, hands in his pocket.
"How can you be like that?" I complained, glaring at him.
"Hey! Stop being childish or else I won't help anymore." He replied coldly.
"I'm sorry, don't have to be so serious all the time."
"Just shut up! And so as I say." Jayden ordered as I had no other choice but to do as he says.
ANNABEL'S POV:
Classes have been faster than usual and Jordan... he hasn't come to class all day and it's lunch time already. Aside from that, the new girl seems sad and lonely. I know what it means but be lonely so I think I should go talk to her.
ARIANA'S POV:
The school has been accepted so far and the classes, I'm beginning to get things rather quickly than expected and for the first time in my life I like this loneliness. I used to be a bully before I attended my previous school but though I had friends, some were fake and only with me for popularity but after what happened, I prefer to be alone and to mind my business because if I had done that I might not have to be in this school.
I took a deep breath, looking outside the window when a girl came towards my table and said
"Hello!" She waved, giving me a friendly smile.
Me: "???"
"Hello, I'm Annabel." She introduced, still smiling sweetly.
"Hi!" I replied curtly and turned my gaze back to the window.
"Are you okay...I meant are you happy here?" She asked.
"Urm...I want to be left alone if you don't mind." I replied, without shifting my gaze from the window.
"Oh?okay tell me if you need anything." She said and left.
JOSHUA'S POV:
I'm doing this now and I have to get it done with.
"MASON!!" The principal called as I looked up at him.
"What's going on?" I whispered into Jayden's ear.
"Actually sir-"
"Sir, Joshua's going to Crown Academy with us." Jayden stated as the principal immediately frowned.
"Can you explain what's happening here Mr Collins?" He asked.
"Sir I know Joshua's not really good but the school's got I and Sarah so Joshua can just tag along...I guess." Jayden replied with a shrug as I opened my mouth in awe.
How could he speak so casually to the big man?
"Tag along?" The principal chuckled.
"You're kidding me Collins." He said, his expression turned cold.
"I'm not sir, Joshua might not be good in academics but he's good in sports and you know we also need that or am I wrong?"
"No you aren't but Joshua, he'll f-"
"He won't fail you neither will he fail the school...that I promise."
"Okay it's a deal but if there's any complain about Joshua there will be severe consequences." The principal warned.
"Rest assured, there won't be any problems."
"Settled then, Mr Mason congratulations... you're going to Crown Academy." The principal said as he extended his hand for a shake as I quickly grabbed it with a smile.
ANNABEL'S POV:
Why? Why is this happening? It all started when I came back from school this afternoon.
"Mum!" Joshua called, dumping his backpack on the floor as he headed for the dinning where mum was.
"Joshua! What's the matter, you weren't this happy when you left this morning?" Mum inquired.
"Oh mum you can't believe it." He gushed happily.
"What is it then?" I asked impatiently.
"We'll be classmates soon." He announced.
"What? I don't understand." I asked, slightly confused.
"I mean I'm going to Crown Academy for the student exchange program."
"Wait! What?" I screamed as mum and Joshua stared at me wondering if I was possessed or something.
"Darling what's wrong?" Mum asked as I kept shaking my head.
"No! You can't come to my school...how did you even get in." I screamed at the top of my lungs.
"You aren't even smart, what's wrong with Royal High or has your principal been bewitched."
"Easy dear, what's the matter?"
"Mom? Joshua?"
"He can't come to Crown Academy, he just can't I don't want people knowing he's my brother." I explained.
"What rubbish are you saying?" Mum asked.
"I'm sorry but he can't come to my school." I said and headed upstairs without looking back at the two behind me.
