Hogwarts: Please Graduate Soon

Chapter 122: Hogwarts, Please Graduate Soon, Ch 67.2

Old friends… Wayne thought to himself, remembering the group of followers from Grindelwald's time.

After putting away the letter and the parchment, Wayne bid farewell to Dumbledore and left the headmaster's office for the library.

Cho and Hermione were waiting there for him, working on some assignments.

As the three exited the castle, Hermione casually asked, "What did you talk about with Dumbledore?"

Wayne replied honestly, "Not much, just that Newt Scamander wrote me a letter and asked Dumbledore to pass it on."

"Oh," Hermione responded instinctively, then suddenly stopped in her tracks. "Scamander… that surname is so familiar."

"Who?"

Her eyes widened: "Newt Scamander? The one who wrote *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them*?"

"Yeah, that's him." Wayne looked at her in confusion, not understanding why Hermione was reacting so strongly.

Cho was equally surprised: "Newt Scamander actually wrote you a letter?"

"He's the author of *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them*!"

Hermione exclaimed, grabbing Wayne's hand excitedly: "What did the letter say? How does he know you? Can you get me an autograph?"

In that moment, she looked just like a muggle star-struck fan.

After being bombarded with numerous questions, Wayne simply decided to take the letter out for them to read for themselves. There was nothing private about it.

When they saw that Newt actually mentioned wanting to visit Wayne, Hermione's face turned bright red with excitement.

At that moment, Wayne realized just how famous Newt was in the wizarding world.

"Wayne, can I come to see Mr. Scamander when he visits?" Hermione asked eagerly. Cho didn't speak but her beautiful eyes were also fixed on Wayne.

"Of course," Wayne readily replied, "I'll write to Newt and once we have a date set, I'll let you know."

The two girls cheered in unison.

The three of them made their way to Hagrid's patch of cultivated land at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. After some time of growth, aided by magical potions, the biting cabbage had barely taken on the shape of mature plants. However, they looked particularly quiet; when Wayne opened one of them to check, he found that the teeth had yet to grow.

"Wayne, why are you growing biting cabbages?" Hermione had long since stopped caring about his violation of school rules. Wayne was far smarter than she was; even if he broke a rule, it wouldn't cause much of a stir. Hermione had gradually become a competent Gryffindor. If you weren't caught, you hadn't broken a rule.

"One, I want to taste them, and two, I'm preparing them as a defense against enemies."

"When the time comes, I can throw out a dozen biting cabbages, and my enemies will surely flee in terror."

Hermione scoffed, "This is Hogwarts. The world operates in accordance with order. With Dumbledore here, how could there be any enemies?"

"Just be careful and don't hurt yourself." Wayne opened his mouth.

The safest place…

Well, hopefully, once everything happens, it could all work out. As Professor Sprout's prized student, along with his deep-rooted talents, Wayne's gift for gardening was top-notch. He worked hard to till the soil with the two young witches, fertilize the biting cabbages, and finally cast a spell to drive away wild beasts to complete their task.
