Hogwarts: Please Graduate Soon

Chapter 79: Hogwarts, Please Graduate Soon, Ch 59.1

Wayne has no interest in Dumbledore's painstakingly devised Savior training program. However, that doesn't mean he is indifferent to Voldemort. To be precise, Wayne wants to understand Horcruxes and how to create them.

The creation of Horcruxes involves extremely advanced dark magic, allowing one to hide a part of their soul within an object. As long as that part of the soul exists, one can achieve immortality. This dark magic was invented by the most infamous dark wizard in history— the despicable Heir of Slytherin. This wizard, also from ancient Greece, existed hundreds of years before the invincible Andros and is known as one of the oldest dark wizards.

He created many deadly and malevolent dark spells, even hatching monsters and altering various magical creatures, forming a horrific and feared evil army. At the same time, he is also known as the earliest Parseltongue, seemingly born of an evil seed, destined to bring destruction and disaster. Most of the dark magic and curses that survive today are related to him. The only one who can rival Heir of Slytherin is the later dark wizard, Enzo, who invented the Killing Curse.

The more sophisticated the dark magic, the more evil the methods of its use typically are. Creating a Horcrux requires enduring the agony of having one's soul torn apart, as well as performing some twisted ritual to kill a living person as a sacrifice.

It sounds like there are many drawbacks, but it is indeed a means of achieving immortality. When used properly, it can even be more effective than the Philosopher's Stone, and while it resembles the life of some legendary liches, it does not grant the ability of rebirth. If one wishes to be reborn using a Horcrux, other methods must be employed.

Wayne isn't a child preoccupied with thoughts of immortality; he simply wants to study the mysteries of the soul. In this world, souls certainly exist, the legend of the Grim Reaper lingers in the ears of wizards, and ghosts are a kind of entity caught between life and death.

These various secrets tease Wayne's curiosity. When the class bell rings, many young witches and wizards awaken from their dream-like state, rubbing their sleepy eyes as they leave the classroom. While walking towards the dining hall with Hermione, Wayne quietly asks, "You should have Herbology class in the afternoon, right?"

"Yeah, why?" Hermione replies.

"After class, can you go to Hagrid's hut for me and see if he can help gather some materials? George and Fred wasted quite a bit of material since they just started learning, but I don't mind. Hagrid can just take a stroll in the Forbidden Forest and collect whatever we need. As for what to trade with Hagrid, I can brew some Growth and Pest Repellent potions; Hagrid's vegetable garden could surely use them."

Hermione readily agrees, and they continue discussing this morning's events. "Are you really going to seek extra lessons from Snape?"

"Yes," Wayne responds. "Snape's level of teaching doesn't show in class at all. I had to put in a lot of effort to convince him to tutor me before Christmas."
