Chapter 50: Himeko the "Tough Guy"
Kiana's voice startled both Himeko and Theresa. They were about to go and find the source, but Himeko winced in pain as Theresa pressed her back into bed. "Himeko! You stay here, I'll go see if it's Kiana!"
Himeko watched Theresa run out with her short legs and gave a wry smile. She closed her eyes and waited quietly in bed.
If it was a few hours earlier, she would've been able to welcome Kiana, but right now…
Himeko turned her head and looked at the bucket by the bed, filled with bloodstained white cloths. She sighed.
Kiana can't possibly have brought any medicine…
"Himeko!!" Theresa's ecstatic voice came from the distance. Himeko turned her head and saw the small white blur rushing back and stopping by her wound.
Himeko froze. She took a closer look. Theresa was holding several boxes of medicine and rolls of bandages in her hands. She was trembling, clumsily and inefficiently trying to untie the bandages on her wound.
"Did… Kiana really bring medicine?" Himeko looked at Theresa, who was too excited to control herself, in surprise.
Theresa couldn't speak and just nodded repeatedly, her hands becoming more and more frantic.
"Theresa, wait!" At that moment, Shu's voice came from behind. "Wait for Bronya! She's a professional!"
Theresa froze and immediately stepped aside, her gaze fixed on Bronya, who was running towards them with Shu.
Bronya, feeling that naked gaze, also froze. Then, she forced herself forward, carefully approaching Himeko.
"Can Bronya examine the wound?" Bronya politely asked. Himeko nodded, and then Bronya carefully lifted the messy bandages.
The blood at the edge of the wound had already dried and scabbed over. When Bronya tore off the cloth, it tugged at the scabs, causing Himeko to gasp.
"It's okay... haha, you can continue," Himeko's face paled a bit, but she forced herself not to move or make any sounds to disturb Bronya.
Shu and Theresa were standing at the side, both watching Bronya treat Himeko's injury.
This was also the first time Shu saw the state of Himeko's injury.
Under the blood-soaked cloth was a wound the size of Theresa's fist, and from afar, it looked like a mess.
Shu smelled a faint scent of blood and turned his head away. He couldn't bear to look.
Theresa, on the other hand, didn't blink, her gaze fixed on Bronya's every move.
And Bronya, facing the injury, calmly picked up the various medicines and bandages, after a brief hesitation, Bronya turned back and asked seriously, "Is there a knife? Bronya needs a knife to drain some blood."
"Is it serious?" Theresa asked instinctively. Shu's face changed slightly as well.
So it caused more problems than before? Shu remembered that they didn't need to drain any blood last time.
"We probably don't have a surgical knife." Thankfully it's not a more severe problem. Shu calmed himself and said, "Can we use other knives?"
Bronya nodded, "We can, Bronya needs a thin knife, the sharper the better." After she finished, Bronya glanced at the burning candle. "If possible, Bronya needs more candles, and alcohol or high-proof alcohol."
A thin, knife… something like a dagger. And the candles and alcohol are used to disinfect…
Shu quickly processed the information, and then left the room, heading for the shelves as quickly as he could.
Theresa followed closely behind and rushed towards the candles. She grabbed a handful, ran back, and squatted down in a corner of the room, lighting them one by one.
At that moment, Kiana, Mei, and Fu Hua went upstairs and arrived at the room.
Seeing Bronya meticulously treating Himeko's wound, everyone was surprised, but no one said a word, afraid of disturbing Bronya.
"Bronya! The alcohol and knives you asked for!" Shu came running back, holding seven or eight different knives and two bottles of rubbing alcohol.
Bronya turned around and looked at the knives that Shu had displayed. After rummaging through them, she picked one that seemed the most suitable, tested its sharpness, and then nodded. "Thank you."
Shu watched Bronya drain Himeko's wound without changing her expression. He subconsciously swallowed, only to taste blood in his mouth.
Looking at Himeko, she was gritting her teeth and enduring it without any anesthetic. She didn't make a single sound, even as her face turned red, and the hands that gripped the bedsheets were trembling slightly.
But she was silent, and the area Bronya was treating wasn't shaking as much.
If it were me…
Shu imagined that scene. He would probably need both Kiana and Kallen to restrain him, and another person to cover his mouth…
Forget it, hopefully, that'll never happen.
The treatment was finally completed. The blood that flowed out of the wound was now bright red. Bronya put down the knife and picked up the medicine to finish the treatment.
Bronya looked at Himeko with slight surprise.
She had already prepared for Shu and Kiana to restrain Himeko. She hadn't expected Himeko to be able to endure all of that…
"Phew… Phew…" The hardest part was over. Himeko's tense face relaxed, the redness on her face fading into a frightening paleness.
Mei considerately handed her a tissue to wipe away her sweat.
"Hehe, how is it?" Feeling the tightness from the bandages around her wound, Himeko came to her senses. She looked at Bronya, who was still working, "I was also in the military for a long time, and I've been on several missions. Heh… I didn't embarrass the military, did I?"
Bronya paused. She glanced at Himeko, who was staring at her, before looking away, deep in thought.
Even in the military, very few people could endure that kind of pain without making a single sound… especially something like draining blood.
"Hmm, very impressive," Bronya said softly.
Himeko narrowed her eyes and wanted to say something. But she just sighed and leaned back, "Thank you, if there is anything that you need help with in the future, you can just ask, I'll do my best to help."
Bronya silently nodded, securing the bandages.
