Honkai: You're telling me this difficulty is from Honkai Impact 3?!

Chapter 52: The Last Time That He Explained [Honkai]

Actually, Shu and Mei had only known each other for a little over three days, and he had only known Kiana for around ten days. Of course, that was from Mei's perspective.

But they were getting along well. Shu wasn't sure if it was the post-apocalyptic world that had strengthened their relationship or if Kiana and the others were just too sociable, forcing a shut-in like Shu to integrate into their group.

But it was nice to have a group of friends… If only this weren't the end of the world.

...And then there was Otto.

Speaking of Otto, Shu's expression couldn't help but turn grim.

Putting aside the matter of whether or not he wanted to see Otto, how should they find Otto and Kallen right now?

If they stayed here for another day, then they would be attacked by the Honkai Beast on the next night. Then, Otto would pick them up in his pickup truck at the end of the street.

That was a method, but the danger was obvious.

Shu really! Really! Really didn't want to see that damn Chariot-class Honkai Beast again!

Every time he met that Honkai Beast, nothing good ever happened! And that Honkai Beast was such a persistent ghost! No matter where he ran, that Honkai Beast would always be after him!

But Otto was most likely with that Honkai Beast now…

Should we just ignore Otto?

Shu quickly agreed, before he resolutely stopped that thought.

The Honkai world could not exist without Otto, just like the West could not exist without Jerusalem, and eating dumplings had to have vinegar.

With Otto, the road ahead would be so much easier. Even if he wasn't greedy for Otto's power, he still had to find Kallen.

Checkmate! No escape!

Shu laid down by the table, wordless, letting the others look at him strangely.

Maybe… they should search nearby tomorrow afternoon? Or maybe, he should remind the others tonight to prepare to run?

After thinking it over, that plan wasn't that bad. Shu recalled that during that situation, everyone else could easily escape to the end of the street, Except him.

But Kiana was carrying Fu Hua, and Theresa was carrying Himeko. The two Kaslanas were incredibly fast. And now, they also had Mei and Bronya. Mei was using kendo to keep fit, and Bronya seemed to have some military experience. But they were still close to his level.

…What if we had a vehicle? Wouldn't we be able to keep up?

Shu's eyes lit up, and he suddenly stood up, but slumped back down.

Putting aside the jumping-out-of-windows problem, even finding a vehicle was a problem. He didn't know how to pick locks, and he also didn't know how to mess with batteries, how could he get a vehicle like Otto?

…So how did Otto get that pickup truck?

"Kiana, do you have any memories of when the Honkai first broke out?" Shu leaned on his chair and looked at the ceiling.

"Huh?" Kiana, who was patting her stomach after eating too much, paused and realized what Shu meant. "Oh, oh. You mean when the disaster first appeared?"

Shu nodded. "Can you tell me about it?"

Kiana thought for a moment. "Okay, but what's there to say…?"

Looking at Kiana's troubled expression, Shu was speechless.

See? That's what happens when you don't study hard. She can't even describe what she's seen and can only say "damn it!"

"Shu is asking about the process of the disaster." Bronya suddenly spoke from the side. Shu nodded, "Bronya should remember something, right?"

Bronya frowned and thought for a while. "Bronya does remember… But… the disaster happened in an instant…"

"Huh?" Shu blinked in confusion. "That's it? Was there no chaos, or any zombies struggling?"

Bronya shook her head. "Bronya doesn't know, but she didn't see any struggling."

"What about the Honkai Beasts? Those large white monsters. Did they suddenly appear as well?" Shu quickly asked.

Bronya nodded.

Shu's heart sank. This was slightly different from what he remembered, but some parts matched.

Like the classic Nagazora City Incident. It was said that some people had suddenly become Dead-ites without anyone noticing. And then there was the massive transformation.

And the birth of the Honkai Beasts was still a mystery. Shu had never seen how a Honkai Beast was born.

But if it appeared in an instant…

Shu turned his gaze to the window. The streets outside were full of parked cars, mostly with closed doors. The doors of only a few cars were left open.

Those must be the vehicles that lost control when the Honkai appeared. The keys should still be inside. They could probably use them… But there would also likely be a zombie inside.

At least there is hope for a vehicle, right?

"By the way," just as Shu was sighing, Mei said with confusion. "Why… do you call that disaster – "Honkai"?"

"Huh? Didn't I tell you?" Shu looked at Mei in surprise, and saw her confused expression.

"Did you…?" Mei thought about it for a moment and then shook her head. "No. We didn't talk about anything like that."

Shu paused. He realized that was from "before", and Mei wasn't even there at that time.

It wouldn't be bad to tell them about [Honkai], now that there is a chance. It would just be a hassle to explain it again to Otto…

Just then, Theresa, who had gone to give food to Himeko, came back and sat down by the table. Everyone was looking at Shu.

Shu cleared his throat, "Listen closely. The so-called assassin... The so-called [Honkai]…"

Shu started to explain the concept of the Honkai. Having explained it once before, this time, Shu was more fluent, more detailed. Even Kiana, who heard it before, listened intently.

After hearing the whole story, everyone was left with a look of "their values had been reorganized". Shu drank some water and laid down on the sofa.

After a moment of silence, Shu sat up again.

"Damn it, I forgot to ask Bronya if she could pick locks!"
