Hunter x Hunter : Germain Joins The Hunt

Chapter 236: Chapter 223.1 : Game Update Vote!!

Actually, speaking of "targeted solutions," if we're going to challenge the so-called "immortal disease," bringing along the "Virus Hunter" Sanbica would be a good choice.

However, she currently has a more important task—researching the "Herb for All-illnesses."

As for Abengane, his priority drops further down the list. His combat ability and willingness are both lacking, so there's no need to force him. Staying on "Greed Island" to work is a good option for him.

Then there are Razor, Dwun, and List, who are responsible for maintaining "Greed Island's" operations and supporting the logistics for the "Dark Continent Exploration." They can't leave so easily either.

After finishing the discussion about matters related to the "Dark Continent," the conversation shifted to updating "Greed Island."

"I'm not dealing with that," the petite Bisky said as she hopped off her chair. She lovingly polished the "Blue Planet" gem in her hands and added, "You guys can talk about it. I'm going to take a break."

She turned to Shizuku. "Let's go. Later, you can help me take some photos with 'Planet-chan.'"

By "Planet-chan," Bisky meant the "Blue Planet" gem. As for "a few photos," that was definitely a lie. Taking 50 or 60 photos would be the bare minimum.

Shizuku obediently followed her.

Along with Bisky and Shizuku, Menchi, Buhara, Sanbica, and Abengane also left the meeting room, leaving it noticeably emptier.

Around the round table, only Germain, Razor, Dwun, and List remained.

Neither Eta nor Elena had attended the meeting in person from the start. They had to stay at their posts to ensure the basic operations of "Greed Island." Even when they took breaks, they couldn't leave at the same time.

Normally, Eta managed the entry of players into "Greed Island," while Elena handled their exits.

However, since the two of them were nearly identical twins, when one of them had to leave, the other would temporarily take on both roles.

The twins also needed rest. That kind of 24/7 work schedule—007-style—even the most ruthless, vampire-like capitalists wouldn't impose it on such adorable twins. Let alone someone like Ging and his team.

However, the twins were currently at their respective stations, participating in the meeting in real-time via the large screen.

Once those uninterested in the "Greed Island Transformation" had left, the remaining participants turned their attention to Razor, who was the first to address Germain.

"I've watched Ging's video twice. He's in favor of your proposal," Razor said.

"As for me, I'm a death row inmate. That status doesn't change no matter how long I've worked as a 'Greed Island Game Master.' Therefore, I won't participate in decisions about the 'Greed Island Transformation.'"

"It was Ging who gave me the chance to extend my life. No matter what Greed Island becomes in the future, I'll continue my work here."

With that, Razor decisively cast an abstention vote.

Germain was slightly surprised. He had expected the biggest resistance to come from Razor, who was responsible for maintaining the current order of Greed Island. Yet Razor simply chose not to participate in the decision.

The first major obstacle had crumbled.

Dwun, List, Eta, and Elena, who worked closely with Razor, were slightly taken aback at first but quickly understood his decision. None of them pressured him into changing his stance.

Their bond was deep enough that there was no need for meaningless words like, "We don't care about your status," or, "You're already one of us," or, "We recognize you."

However, List stepped forward at this moment and cast a dissenting vote.

"I'm against the 'Greed Island Transformation.' This will throw Greed Island into chaos for some time and significantly increase our workload."

"Updating the game could very likely ruin the current balance of Greed Island, reducing it to trash."

Eta and Elena hesitated, unable to make their decision immediately.

Dwun, on the other hand, leaned forward, crossing his fingers in front of him.

"Germain, I have one question. What exactly does your 'Greed Island Update' include?"

"It's mostly broad directions for now," Germain replied. "The specific details still need to be discussed with all of you."

With that, he began explaining everything in detail.

"First, ensure that the main storyline of 'collecting designated cards to achieve the conclusion' remains unchanged. Divide the card distribution into regions and refine the correlation between card rarity and difficulty levels."

Since Germain lacked talent in game creation and updates, he resorted to bureaucratic posturing when addressing those who were skilled.

"Second, ensure a good gaming experience, especially for new players. Punish or banish 'red-name players' who hunt other players, maintaining order within the game."

"Third, promote a combat system where Nen abilities are primary and cards are secondary. Set conditions for player-versus-player battles, and upon meeting those conditions, allow players to claim the opponent's cards."

"Fourth, add more side quests outside of the main storyline. Provide more regional dungeons for enhancing combat power, allowing players who aren't aiming for story completion or who urgently need to strengthen themselves to have more gameplay options."

"Fifth…"

Germain rattled off a series of ideas. However, they were mostly high-level concepts, with no mention of critical details like numerical balancing.

Even so, Dwun and List, who were directly involved in the creation of Greed Island, understood everything immediately.
