ALL NOVEL Chapter 13: Climbing Up (2/2)
Walking down the path, Vexalia found a blocked wall, so she tossed a nearby bomb flower at it, revealing a passage that brought back down, "Good!" She exclaimed, happy that if she fel she wouldn't have to take the long way again.
Still walking, she came across a very tall sand ramp, where monsters even made a platform, "The things are way smarter than I gave them credit for." She commented, taking a running start and then dashed up the slippery sand to the platform in the middle, where she quickly shoved the monsters off, making them tumble down the sand.
Looking up, a monster was about to throw a boulder down, "Oh no!" Vexalia exclaimed, quickly taking her slingshot out and shooting the monster, making it drop the boulder on it's own head, "...Showed him..." She said with a visible sweatdrop running down her face, she didn't really plan for that.
Nonetheless, going up brought her to a monster camp, complete with a watch tower, "Fi, are these just very aggressive red people?" She asked the spirit, "No, they are part of the demon army." Fi corrected.
With the reassurance, Vexalia grabbed a bomb flower and tossed it in the camp, and while that exploded, she grabbed her slingshot again and shot the monster on the tower, making it fall to it's death, "One less problem and..." She started, looking at path that continued on another part of a cliff.
Thinking about what to do gave the idea might make an ideal bridge, "Mistress, I know what you're thinking, and I have to say it's th dumbest thing you're gonna do aside from the lock puzzle." Fi warned, but got ignored as Vexalia took out her sword, twirled around and triedslicing a foot of the tower, only ending up with a snapped in half blade, basically a bleeding bone, and a sufferring hero who somehow forgot the sword was a piece of her.
Looking at the broken sword, and the blood gushing out of it, Vexalia started screaming in pain, "OH MY GODDESS!! THAT HURTS SO DAMNED MUCH!!" She lamented between yells before the blade regenerated, stopping the pain, "...Never again..." She stated, going back to get a bomb flower and tossed it at the tower, blowing it to fall and making a bridge.
Passing the bridge ended up leading to another sand ram, again with monster platforms there, so like before, Vexalia ran up and threw the monsters on the platforms off, until she reached the top of the mountain and found a locked door much ike the one in Skyview.
"So the key is in pieces?" She heard someone say, turning to see the mole she met when she first arrived, "Yes, but we don't need it now do we?" The other replied, "Yeah, but I wonder why those monsters decided to break it." The first commented before burrowing.
Seeing her clue, Fi jumped out of the sword, "So mistress, are you going to find the pieces of the key, or are you gonna try your luck with cutting the lock?" She questioned with a somehow neutrally sarcastic voice, "Key it is." Vexalia responded, walking to the side of the entrance and seeing a spot where something was buried and a Goddess Cube in a higher spot.
Digging the spot led her to find one piece of the key, "What an ugly key this must be." She thought outloud, going to climb the cliff and struck the Goddess Cube, 'All the pieces must be buried...' she rationalized, making use of her higher position, she looked around and saw another spot where something was buried.
Taking a better look she saw view tower, so she threw a bomb to blow it up, accidentally making an easily climbable bridge on the ramp, "Uh, that went better than expected!" She commented, sliding down and diggin up the secon key piece, and then ran up the fallen tower and back to the temple's entrance.
Looking down the ramp she came up the volcano from, she noticed that in a cliff there were rocks clearly put by hand in there, so she grabbed a bomb and tossed it there, making the rocks explode revealing the piece of the key sitting there.
Having three, the only path left- (Now... I know I described the process of getting the first three, but the last two might as well be a chapter by itself, so...) -After a lot of monster slaying, bridge making, Goddess Cubing, slide sliding and bombing, Vexalia managed to get the last two pieces of the key and got back up to the temple entrance.
"Alright! Now..." She dragged out, taking a few seconds to put the pieces back together, and then she went to put the key in the lock, but froze, "...Mistress..." Fi dragged out, "I can do it!" Vexalia reassured.
Half an Hour Later.
"Okay! I got it!" She exclaimed, putting the key in... sideways! Gettinga scream from both Fi, and Ghirahim who got annoyed with the waiting, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?" They questioned angrily as Ghirahim grabbed the key and opened the lock himself, "I better see you at the end of this shit!!" He exclaimed, teleporting supposedly to the end of the temple.
