Chapter 2: 15 Years Later
Vexalia's POV.
I jolt awake after falling off my bed due to a bad nightmare, I spend a moment remembering it and I remember it being about a huge monster covered in scales and a light telling me that I will soon find a great destiny, then both the light and monster disappeared and I remember I fell due to seeing Zelda's Loftwing.
"Hold on a moment..." I realize as I look at the window where said Loftwing is looking in my room, "That seemed out of nowhere among all else." I say before the Loftwing spat a letter in my face, "I'm going to spank her." I tell myself as I get up and read the letter, "Wake up sleepyhead, today is the big day, come meet me by the Goddess Statue, and don't think of falling asleep again or I'l throw you off Skyloft again...." I read outloud and facepalm, "Of course." I mutter rolling my eyes before getting ready.
When I finished getting dressed, I went out of my room and stretched slightly, "Should I have breakfast?" I wonder outloud, "Nah..." I shrug and move on out of the academy.
Outside, I started heading for the gate, but it was closed, "What the-" I started saying, but got interrupted, "Hey Vexalia!" I heard Professor Horwell call out to me, turning around, I looked for him, but didn't see him, "Up here!" He called out again, making me see him on the upper floor, "That gate is closed for a little maintenance, you should come up here if you plan on going anywhere." He explained.
Seeing as that was the only option, and I didn't want to go back inside for the stairs, I grew claws and climbed up to the other gate, "So you do prefer the hard way?" Horwell questioned, "It's faster." I pointed out, "Right... Since you grew those, could you please retrieve Mia?" He requested, "Again!?" I exclaimed in surprise, "I don't know why, but during the night she just goes places and I have no idea why." Horwell explained.
That explanation made me sigh, "Where is she?" I asked, to which the professor pointed to the roof, which I began to climb and when I got on the roof, I saw the Remlit sleeping next to the bell, "Alright you scamperer, come here." I told the little creature, holding my hands out to grab it, but to my surprise it jumped to my face.
"Why do you hate me?" I asked the Remlit with a bothered expression as it licked my scar, but since I tecnically caught it, got down of the roof hand gave it back to Horwell, "Thank you Vexalia, by the way, Zelda said she'd be waiting for you at the Statue." He told me, "Right!" I exclaimed, remembering that I was supposed to go there and quickly ran.
At The Statue.
Zelda's POV.
While waiting for Vexalia, I decided to start practicing a bit, "Oh youth~ Guided by~ The Goddess's Servant~ Unite earth~ And sky~ Bright light to~ The land~" I finished singing, smiling a bit as I got it right, then a moment after, I heard someone walking up to me, and as I turned I saw Vexalia, "Finally you're here!" I exclaimed, only to be surprised when she gave me a slap on the butt that made me stumble forward, "Why!?" I questioned feeling a little pained.
"That's for almost giving me a heart attack with your bird." Vexalia replied, holding the letter I had my Loftwing deliver, "Oh right..." I say, trying to act innocent, "Anyway, what do you think of my dress? I ask, twirling around to give a good look, "Mmm... A little clownish." She replied, "Hey!" I exclaimed in mock offense, making Vexalia smirk proudly.
As I looked at the smiling goof, "Oh there you are Zelda, I see you are prepared for the Wing Ceremony." I heard father say as he walked up to us, "Good morning, Father!" I greeted with a small bow, "Oh Vexalia, you're here too." Father noted, "That's surprising considering how much you sleep." He commented, prompting Vexalia to glare at me, causing me to look away.
This scene clearly made Father understand exactly what happened, "Of course." He said with a facepalm, "Anyway, I hope you're ready Vexalia, if you win the cerimonial race you'll get to take place in the post-race ritual with Zelda, so give it your best." He instructed, "Speaking of the race father, I'm not sure Vexalia is ready for the race." I told him, "I'm right here." Vexalia reminded, "You need to hear this." I retorted.
"Well, if you're worried, there's still a lot of time to practice." Father noted, "Right! Follow me Vexalia!" I told her as I headed to a launch bridge, "You remember how to do this right?" I asked, "Jump aoff and whistle, of course I remember." She replied to which I nodded and pushed her off, causing her to scream from the unexpected push.
Looking down, I saw her whistle, but for some reason, her Loftwing didn't come, even when she whistled again, "Oh no!" I said as I jumped down and whistled for my Loftwing, who I rode to catch Vexalia and dropped her off in the plaza, "That was weird, usually your Loftwing is so obedient." I pondered with Vexalia, who fell on her back from the fright she took.
Vexalia's POV.
"I should go look for it." I say outloud as I got up and headed to the Knight Academy to look for a trail, and there I saw the notoriously bothersome Groose and his cronies talking to Fledge, "Of course it was fighting back! You think a white feathered Loftwing that big wouldn't be fighting back?" Groose said, catching my attention.
"Anyway, I doubt that bird is geeting out of that pen anytime soon!" He boasted, angering me as I sprouted another arm to grab him and his two pals by the head, "So... Where is it?" I questioned, my pupil changing into the shape of a skull, clearly scaring the daylights out of them.
