Chapter 26: Awakening the Xiao Sisters
I checked my system screen, eyeing the level status of my pets—they'd all reached Level 51, ascending to King Tier. With their new human forms, I decided it was time to summon them. A crimson magic circle appeared in the room, and one by one, they materialized before me.
The first to appear was a girl who looked to be in her early twenties, with black hair and dark eyes, dressed in a brown top and black leggings. Beside her stood a younger girl, perhaps fifteen, with bright green hair and eyes, clad in a light green loli-style outfit. Following her was a woman in her twenties with striking white hair and red eyes, draped in a black gown. Last came a woman around twenty-five, with violet hair and brown eyes, wearing a cropped top and pants.
In unison, they greeted me with a small smile and a calm expression. "Master."
I nodded in acknowledgment. "How are you finding the environment of the summoning space? And how have you all been?"
They glanced at each other, uncertain which of them I was speaking to, before responding together. "Master, the environment is ideal, and we're doing well as your subordinates."
"Good," I said, smiling. "Let's give each of you a name."
Turning to the white-haired girl with red eyes, I said, "You'll be Xiao Zi." Then, to the green-haired girl, "You'll be Xiao Li." To the black-haired girl, I assigned the name "Xiao Mu." And finally, the violet-haired woman, "You'll be Xiao Mi." Together, you four will be known as the Xiao Sisters."
They smiled subtly, their expressions remaining calm, yet their voices conveyed a hint of happiness as they replied in unison, "Yes, Master. We like our names."
"Soon, some humans will be entering the training space. I want you to keep an eye on them, communicate with them if needed, and gather any useful information. Understood?"
"Yes, Master," they replied.
With that, I de-summoned them and went to rest. When morning came, I dressed and headed downstairs. The girls were already there, waiting. "Good morning, girls. In an hour, we're going out for some fun."
"Good morning to you too," they replied, excitement sparking in their eyes.
We sat down for breakfast, and as we finished, Itachi appeared out of nowhere, bowing. "Master, I have completed the task. She's in the basement, as you instructed."
I nodded, my expression turning cold. "Good. Now, head to the training space and battle a hundred thousand monsters. Stay away from the Xiao Sisters and don't engage with them—they're under my command."
Though he seemed puzzled by my tone, Itachi obeyed without question. "Yes, Master," he replied before vanishing.
The girls looked at me curiously, clearly wanting an explanation. I sighed and decided to give them a bit of insight. "Itachi is one of my elite operatives. I've trained him personally. He's part of a team of forty-one who carry out missions and gather intelligence on my behalf. I also control a mafia organization and command an army with diverse forces from across different realms."
They nodded, though they still looked at me expectantly, waiting for more. Beads of nervous sweat formed on my brow as I tried to explain further.
"As for the Xiao Sisters," I continued, "they're my summoned guardians. They've reached a level of power that allows them to take human forms and interact with my allies when necessary. They're invaluable to me."
One of the girls let out a sigh. "Alright, but... what do you mean by a 'training space'? And are you really serious about forming a harem?"
I paused, choosing my words carefully. "Yes, I am. As my power grows, it becomes harder for just one person to keep up with me. But each of you will always have a special place in my life, no matter what."
After a moment's pause, they sighed again, resigned. "We understand. Just promise us that we'll always be important to you."
I smiled softly, feeling a rare warmth amidst all the darkness. "I promise. And... there's something I want to share with you."
