Chapter 11: CH 11: The new members of the family, Aisha and norn, and ascending to Adept Mage.
It's been a week since then, and the house doesn't have the same aura as before.
On one hand, Zenith and Paul are in a silent war. It seems that what he told Zenith to convince her originally didn't work very well this time.
On the other hand, Lilia has been quieter than usual, although now I've had to help her with the chores, taking away valuable time from my training, but hey, these are sacrifices one has to make sometimes.
But continuing with the juicy gossip, Zenith and Paul really seem like they're going to separate. She's not even sleeping with him anymore, unfortunately, I am, and Paul, for his part, was sent to sleep in my room.
There's another room, where Roxy used to sleep, but Zenith is using me to prevent Paul from convincing her in other ways. It's annoying, really.
But hey, I'm in my world, ignoring everything, reading some books that Roxy left and then studying my grimoire in my mental space while pretending to sleep.
Those two are pretty shattered lately, especially Paul, Zenith seems more focused on taking care of herself for the baby's sake.
Paul, on the other hand, is starting to get dark circles under his eyes, his beard is growing, and his aura emanates his sadness. It was truly pitiful, but hey, I took advantage of that time while he was like that to skip my fencing training and focus on learning to hunt and move through the woods.
Of course, I didn't stop training, I just stopped practicing fencing while I focused on those two things.
And well, on the other hand, my little student Sylphy has had to come to study at my house since the little time I have to go out, I use it for that same thing.
She has been improving very well and I've even been teaching her to do magic without chanting, and I have to say that the Laplace factor is the real cheat of the magical side of this world.
She made it so easy that it makes us normals wonder if we've been doing everything wrong. Well, I'm not at that level, but I can understand the feeling anyone would have.
I saw it firsthand from Roxy once when I showed her that I could do beginner magic without chanting.
And well, that's all, the truth is, not much has happened this week besides the gossip going on in the house, but their nonsense is easily ignored.
So I just hope they get together soon or separate quickly because it's starting to bother me.
[9 months later]
"Aisha and Norn have already been born, it happened 2 months ago. They're beautiful little girls, not that I'm going to say it out loud, it's enough that Zenith, Lilia, and even Paul praise their beauty.
You'll wonder how the gossip between the three older members of the house ended up. Well, Lilia stayed single, as did Zenith and Paul.
I swear I had nothing to do with it... Really, Paul at some point after that week started drinking and well, what can I tell you... he did it again.
And right at the time when Zenith seemed to have intentions of forgiving him, she discovered Paul with another woman from the village, the worst part? She has a child and if I'm not mistaken, she's the same woman who appeared in the original.
I have to say that the woman took advantage of Paul's moment of weakness to ensnare him, I really didn't see Paul doing it willingly, he was more focused on drinking and drowning his sorrows in alcohol.
Phew.. but I can't deny it was a show... The fight was epic between the two of them throwing words of complaint at each other and although it might have been good, I had to step in and stop Zenith, after all she was pregnant, Lilia also got involved and prevented Zenith from continuing to fight.
After that, it seemed as if a kind of almost destroyed friendship arose between the two of them, uniting them strongly just because of what Paul did.
It was really like watching a whole soap opera.
Although it seems like one that would end between two women, between the protagonist and the rich guy who set his sights on her.
But hey, Paul after that, seemed to come to his senses and realize the stupid mistake he made again, but this time he ruined it completely.
All he had left was to build a small house in a moderately secluded area from where we lived.
In a certain way, despite knowing that he ruined his opportunities, he decided not to leave because if not, his babies would be born without a father present.
Despite being a bad husband, he certainly has what it takes to be a good father.
But well, ending with the drama I've been going through, I think it's time to talk about the important thing.
The time has come for me to rank up... I really took a few more months than I anticipated, but I finally managed to increase the greatest amount and density of mana possible within my body.
It was time for me to release that imaginary wall that prevented me from ranking up.
"But for that, I need to be in a solitary and safe space, since this ascension, unlike the previous one that was faster, with this one I need a few hours while my body refines itself.
How do I know? Well, despite not having finished reading all the information about the mage rank in the grimoire, I had to skip to the last pages where it explained how to become an adept mage and the preparations I had to make.
With that, I realized that I certainly don't have much left to finish reading all the information that the mage rank had. The truth is, from the outside, it looked like it had much more information, not because of the magical information it has, but because of all the knowledge about professions that it has.
But moving on, I had to take advantage and use my free hours to go out and do it, so today I quickly went to a place I chose to ascend in rank.
Fortunately, I won't need more than 2 hours while the whole process is completed, which is fast because according to the grimoire, the humans of that world need at least 5 or more for their body to refine completely.
Now I'm talking a lot about refining the body, right? Well let me explain a little.
In the next rank, the mage undergoes something commonly called the mana refinement blessing, it is supposed that the own and environmental mana will unite to refine the body and soul of the mage thus increasing physical and spiritual strength and affinity to mana.
The lineage evolves consequently, for us normal humans we manage to evolve into high humans.
An exponentially enhanced version of the human being, with a life expectancy of 250 years, enhanced physical capabilities and above all a magical affinity that almost rivals that of the high elves.
According to the grimoire, adept mages are known as the elite of the races and anyone who manages to enter this realm automatically in that world is taken as the representative of their race.
The elite of the elite.
Also, the mage earns an almost unique title that will accompany him for life.
After reading that, it made me wonder if I would awaken the battle aura. But then I remembered that well that was certain, the battle aura as I understand it is a type of energy that expels the body.
Not everyone can access this energy nor can they manipulate it because, I suppose it comes from physical resistance since only those with extremely strong bodies can use it, so I suppose that the greater the resistance, the greater the aura that expels the body.
Which after having a certain amount, the person can begin to learn to control it unconsciously first and then do it consciously.
But well, I thought I would need to go through a lot of training before I could know anything about the battle aura, but now I am going to obtain it so easily, I am certainly cheating in this world.
But hey, I thought I was going to need a lot of training before I could know anything about the battle aura, but now I'm going to release it so easily, I'm certainly cheating in this world.
'Ok, so here we go' - I thought as I entered the back of a waterfall that I found on one of my exploration days."
"Of course, I couldn't leave this out when discussing cultivation. In fact, the waterfall didn't have any curves behind it before, I was the one who created it just to be able to do this.
Although the real reason is that the mana in this area is much denser than normal.
After creating a thick stone wall to protect me, but leaving enough space for air to circulate, I summoned a magic circle which materialized a cushion, I placed it on the ground and sat in a lotus position on it.
Yes, that was the famous storage magic, it reminds me of the storage magic from DxD, I have to say that I can store many objects because my storage space is quite large.
But I'm getting off topic again, today I've come here to ascend in rank.
So closing my eyes I started to concentrate on my mana to break through the invisible wall that was obstructing my path to ascension.
[Third person point of view]
Today was supposed to be a normal day in the forest, all the animals and monsters were wandering around it as usual, trying to survive.
But then a strange phenomenon began to happen in this remote area of the forest, the animals and monsters quickly became alert, sensing it on an instinctive level.
The ambient mana was acting strangely, heading towards the waterfall as if a tornado were absorbing all the surrounding ambient mana.
The smaller animals and monsters didn't dare to approach, rather they fled in the opposite direction from where they felt the mana was heading.
But on the other hand, some stronger and moderately intelligent monsters headed towards the place cautiously, noticing that many others were also heading in that direction.
Upon arriving, the monsters stopped a few meters from the waterfall looking at each other cautiously, wondering what was causing such a powerful absorption of ambient mana.
They will wonder if some celestial medicine will be emerging from behind that waterfall or if some monster is undergoing that rare and enviable existential evolution.
Existential evolution, something that some monsters go through in which their lineage evolves and force increases exponentially.
Or maybe they're just thinking that whatever is inside might be a good meal when it comes out from behind the waterfall.
But despite what was going through their still primitive heads, none of them came closer, whether out of caution or fear.
[Kiel's point of view]
[2 hours later]
Inside the cave, a 7-year-old boy opened his black eyes like a wolf's mouth with coal-black hair that swayed as the little breeze that entered the cave passed through it.
This was me, Kiel.
I quickly summoned several magic circles that illuminated the small cave.
"Sigh... 7 years old and I'm already an adept mage, the mages of that world would cry with envy and reconsider what they've done with their lives if they knew this," - I thought, feeling my new power.
Above all, my physical strength and then as I clenched my fist, a bright white glow began to emanate from my arm.
I quickly formed an ice mirror and took a look at myself.
I realized that I had grown a few centimeters before I was about 119 centimeters, but now if I'm not mistaken I must be about 133 centimeters, a certainly too big increase.
But instead of being scared, I sighed, because fortunately I had previously found an illusion spell and I had been religiously practicing it for this moment.
I knew that upon receiving a refinement I would increase in height although I didn't think it would be so much, but hey, I'm happy about it.
But then as I looked at my muscles now being more compact and defined, I felt something in my pants, I quickly opened to see and...
"You're awake!" - I exclaimed with a growing smile of excitement as I watched my little brother, now not so little, rise proudly.
"You don't know how much I missed you, it was really hard to have seen you in that form..." - I, despite knowing that it wasn't my previous little brother, want to think that he had also been reborn with me and was now awakening from his sleep.
But leaving that aside, I quickly summoned my grimoire and it again, like the last time, began to flip through pages until it reached one that said Introduction to the Adept Mage.
I grabbed the grimoire and after reading it I can only say that... I'm going to have a lot to study.
"I think I need to find a way to divide my thoughts or something like that, because there will come a time when despite increasing my strength my knowledge will stagnate," - I muttered, thinking seriously about it, I really don't want to become one of those solitary mages who stay in their guard all the time.
"Sigh... For now, let's go back, I still have plenty of time to think about how to achieve it," - I murmured after sighing.
Starting to walk and undoing the stone wall I had created, I left the cave I had created calmly.
"Hmm?" - But then as I walked with my new superior senses I realized that I was not alone.
Activating my mana vision to further enhance my vision and scanning the area of trees with my gaze I could see that there were many monsters hidden in them.
"Ho, it seems I'm going to be able to test my new battle aura sooner than expected," - I smiled happily as my gaze continued to rest on the monsters and I invoked my battle aura.
I don't have control over it yet, I can only activate and deactivate it, but don't good teachers say that the best way to control something like this is in battles?
But then, without me expecting it, all the monsters ran away in the opposite direction.
"What the hell? Tsk, and I wanted to fight them," - I muttered watching them run, I sighed and without more I headed back to the house disappointed for not being able to fight.
And it's not like I could either, I had been gone for a long time and I had to go back.
'Well, it will be for another day,' I sighed again as I began to trot, not run.
Somehow instinctively I know how much force I should exert despite my exponential increase in strength that I'm used to, it's not that I'm complaining, it would be horrible to have to learn to control my strength.
'Well, then I'll do a check of my abilities,' I finally decided as I headed towards the house.
When I got back, not much had happened, Zenith and Lilia were doing their housewife work as always and the little baby girls of the house were asleep.
Paul, for his part, wasn't visiting the girls so he must be at his guard work or they just kicked him out.
He was allowed to visit the girls, but if he bothered them too much then they wouldn't hesitate to kick him out.
Well, that's all for today, despite supposedly becoming the elite of my race, I had to help out around the house...
Truly inconsiderate of them.
====≠====≠====
The case of Zenith, Paul and Lilia is a total soap opera.
On the other hand, since it was a chapter focused on cultivation, I decided to write that way, although I'm not exactly good at it, at least not in the part of describing my character.
Despite knowing how to do it, I really can't do it, writing things like he has eyebrows like swords or now he has jade skin, not that he has it, but that's the point.
Anyway, I hope you liked today's chapter.
